#3: "DC was staying close to HGV to prevent and passing and pushing in"
The Highway Code, rule 168: If a driver is trying to overtake you, maintain a steady course and speed, slowing down if necessary to let the vehicle pass. Never obstruct drivers who wish to pass. Speeding up or driving unpredictably while someone is overtaking you is dangerous. Drop back to maintain a two-second gap if someone overtakes and pulls into the gap in front of you.
Agreed - but if you keep on dropping back, you end up reversing along the road! 🙂
Where I live ,driving like that behind an emergency vehicle is a 240 pound fine, 2 points on your licence, and a one month driving ban.
The driver in the Volkswagen Golf should have received a fine of £1,000. Especially after driving around the Ambulance as one of the crew went out to talk with them.
Sounds like a reasonable punishment
Far better punishment would be next time he needs medical attention no one turns up 😂
Everyone in the UK knows, once your indicators are one..... you have the automatic right to pull in front of anyone!! Regardless to causing an accident....
They should change the name of indicators to "move I'm turninators".
what about BMW drivers? they seem to care less using indicators
@@drubo17 Indeed... tricky... maybe they are special and people should give way to them by default
@@mikadavies660 they’ll probably split lanes tho
Everybody on You tube knows that you can completely ignore indicators and accelerate into the space because you are responsible for punishment of drivers and it gets more views.
3.06, the car driver was a typical ambulance chaser, taking advantage of the space cleared by the ambulance. Due to their tailgating, they are a menace which could cause an accident, meaning the emergency response to be delayed at best.
These people should get 6 points and a hefty fine
3:06. That golf 'driver' is an absolute prat. Tailgating the ambulance, causing them to stop while they are in the middle of blue lighting it
That one confuses me, sure, the golf was absolutely in the wrong, but doesn't the ambulance have bigger emergencies to deal with, rather than stopping to try and confront him
@@mactep1Damn right mate. Saving peoples lives will always be more important than doing something that the Highway Code forbids.
@@mactep1 easiest way to save lives is to stop people putting them in danger in the first place. prevention is better than the cure and all that
@@mactep1 Trust me, the ambulance service don't have nearly as many emergencies as the TV shows make you believe
If it was a genuine job, they'd not bothered stopping. Chances are they were on their way to someone who'd called 111 because they were throwing up.
@@daviddavidson5231It was a job, they were transporting a patient. They stopped because people like the moron behind cause accidents and have crashed into ambulances before.
Clip 7 - I hope that was reported to the law as a hit and run! How many times are we going to see that ambulance crew get out to talk to the queuejumping tailgater?
The Paramedic was so calm about it!
clip 7 wasnt the medic. The BMW side swiped the cammer then floored it. It also sounds like the cammer was eating as, after the crash, we hear paper rustling.
Just another BMW prick, special people with special needs.
They have rules that state if they see someone doing this they have to stop.
@@dopiaza2006 Which - the hit and run, or the paramedic? My point was that this clip of the para has been shown so many times before!
1:30, what was wrong with overtaking? Long straight, can see what's coming and from the clip it doesn't look like anything was coming so it's fine. As for closing gaps to stop 'pushing in', someone needs to read the highway code and stop being an idiot.
Mirrors, signal, manoever. Highway maintenance does signal, manoever, mirrors. That's what's wrong with it.
Totally agree with you on that point. Its amazing, how these Truckers have no intention of overtaking, but try there best to stop everyone else.
Exactly!
Trouble is, the Highway Maintenance lorry wasn’t turning anywhere, so why he was signalling is unclear. I think he was just trying to prevent the overtake.
@@TimeMeddler Yeah, he was being a dick.
The one with the VW Golf using the ambulance to get through the traffic pissed me off. What a little prick!
Very common unfortunately
Clip 8. It's always worrying that people treat learner drivers or cars with L plates so badly, some people see the learner as a person you just have to get in front of at all costs. There is so much impatience on the roads.
The amount of people who sit right up L vehicles' arses (even uphill) is amazing. I don't know if they realise, but novice drivers have a tendency to roll back when moving off!
@@user-mv5zt8qd9l they do it to large vehicles like ambulances too! Steep hill and heavy van, even professional drivers can slip back occasionally 😂
I remember when i'd just passed my test and put my green L's on. Got treated terribly on the roads, so I decided to take them off. Magically, it got so much better. I think it's like L plates are a red flag to bulls when driving. There's some seriously mentally unstable folk on the roads and I think since covid it's become a lot worse, people drive like absolute nutters nowadays. It used to be once in a blue moon you'd get a dickhead but literally every time I get in the car there's 2 or 3 incidents that could become accidents quite easily that I witness from other drivers just being impatient or needing to retake their tests.
I am a learner driver atm. I have a full bike licence though, so the transition isn't as difficult... Just gotta get muscle memory sorted for the controls and all the other basics of driving nailed down and then I am good to go. The thing is, even after just a few lessons I am a safer driver than some of these muppets
There are plenty of examples of bad driving here.
The rest is even worse than bad.
Driving too close, too fast and the belief that its always the other at fault.
12# 7:34. When it was pretty obvious that he was coming over to your lane you should have slowed down. Or did I spot a tad of acceleration there?
Yeah I don't get this one. The caption says that he should've merged behind, but then the driver behind would say the exact same thing. The Fiat driver made a mistake but the cammer made it dangerous, wanker.
@@SatanDotExe Agreed, the cammer made a poor situation worse. The cammer clearly believes they had right of way in this situation, but as my grandpa always told me when I was learning to drive - "no matter what the law says, right of way is something the other person gives you. Not something you automatically have." If it had been me in that situation, I'd have backed off and slowed down, let the fiat in.
#3 would have been the truck drivers fault, they started to move and then checked mirror. Also, fitting song for #9 😂.
Yes, the car driver did nothing wrong here. I know that stretch of road and it is a long, straight section with visibility for a mile or more, coming out of a village (Burrelton, Perthshire), just out of the 30mph zone. The lorries were travelling very slowly (as stated in the video) and it is perfectly safe to overtake if there is nothing coming from the opposite direction. Not sure why the lorry driver took exception to the overtake, but it happens.
I cant even hear the song
My heart cries when writing this comment. I came in the UK as a student, and drove with my home license for a year, but read the Highway Code, and watched countless videos before driving around. Plenty of Students and Temp VISA holders don’t even bother to learn the basics, and drive like crazy. Yesterday, and fellow countrymen started driving the opposite side of Roundabout in Newcastle City Centre, and ran a red light.
#3: HGV driver shouldn't get a well done for the bear minimum of checking it's safe to move out for an overtake.
#4 2:18 The clip isn't timestamped so maybe it's from a few years ago, what I can confirm if that it currently shows as:
4a. NOT insured
4b. NOT taxed (expired 01/04/2017)
4c. NO valid MOT (expired 01/07/2017)
4d. and the Audi driver doing a fantastic job of living down to everyone else's expectations (as usual)!
#5 3:18 Golf driver also living down to everyone else's expectations, fair play to the ambulance crew for attempting to put a stop to it
#9 6:30 given it's an old shape Rover in gold, I strongly suspect that on the balance of probabilities, the owner is 153 years old and should have handed their licence in years ago
#9 More grey hair on their head than grey matter in it
These clips definitely prove my saying correct. Treat every person on the road as if they were idiots, so when I finally get a car and hit those streets I know to be constantly looking out for idiots
Clip 4. Hazard lights were on. So he’s aloud to follow the ambulance. 😁
That’s the word of the law that - hazard lights mean you can park anywhere or do anything!
Allowed
3:18 - to be honest I've got no idea what the paramedic thought he would do here. Yes the Golf driver is a prick but the paramedic has no authority to do anything about it.
#7 hope you got their reg no.
Lorry driver at 1:20 shouldn’t have been ‘staying close to the HGV in front to prevent overtaking’, but rather he should have been leaving a large gap suitable for an overtaking vehicle to slip into! Also, it seems to me that the HGV driver purposefully indicated and pulled out a bit FOR NO ACTUAL REASON, other than to impede, endanger and terrify the driver overtaking vehicle.
I thought that too. If so, that's criminal driving and should be disqualifying.
Correct he should read Highway Code, 168
Being overtaken. If a driver is trying to overtake you, maintain a steady course and speed, slowing down if necessary to let the vehicle pass. Never obstruct drivers who wish to pass. Speeding up or driving unpredictably while someone is overtaking you is dangerous. Drop back to maintain a two-second gap if someone overtakes and pulls into the gap in front of you.
Selfish driving all round.
That's what I thought too!!
Bang on, both HGV drivers being total bell ends (as usual)
6:50 - Am I missing something? The footage in the top-right seems to be completely unrelated to the main video. There's camera movements that don't match what the car is doing, we see a car passed at ~6:50 that never showed up from the front view, side roads and scenery that we see in the main view never show up in the rear shot, etc?
Update - Actually, I think I figured it out. The footage has a cut in it at 6:55. The main camera footage is correct, but the rear-cam footage from either side of the cut is swapped, so we see them passing the car when they're actually driving past HSS, and vice-versa! Whoops!
2:27 Kind of disappointed that the clown in the Audi didn't get hit by the truck...
That first clip! I use that junction almost every day. So many pricks take the middle lane and then gun it when the light turns green to skip ahead the queue in the left lane.
Clip 4 - No tax or MOT since 2017! lol
And the Audiot just about shat them self when the truck came round the corner.
One can only assume that those drivers we see who are so selfish and irresponsible on the road, display equally poor judgement in most other aspects of their lives.
I would say they do but are equally unaware
Some of these clips are from 2015 lol
Clip #4 is one of my least favourite sets of trafic lights!
I gave up after clip #6 ... 3 of the first 6 were repeats of clips I'd seen weeks ago 🙄
The last one, we've ALL made mistakes and the driver was apologetic but the driver in the cam car just made it difficult for them, why, what's the point ?
yeh if there was a crash there I'd put the blame on the cam car, no need to be that defensive
People who change lanes last minute and cause everyone to stop might be idiots, but so are those travelling to close to each other to stop safely, without your collision alerts going off. If everyone drove further apart there would be a massive reduction in collisions.
Problem then becomes the idiots who see your distance to the next as free for them, cut you off and forcing you and everyone behind to slow some more to create new distance the next idiot will claim.
@@StefanVeenstra Which will all even out the next time you sit at a set of lights for 30 seconds, so why worry? Just handle things safely and the time it takes is the time it takes.
@@StefanVeenstra The idiots are going to cut in front of you whatever happens, so might as well leave a safe space for it to happen.
Sorry but what? You know that the collision sensors go off BEFORE the minimum safe stopping distance right? Therefore you're, by the rules, at a safe distance when they start going off, hence why they allow you to brake to prevent a collision, be a bit dumb to have them go off when it's too late to stop. By your logic if you're driving so far away that they don't even go off you'd be able to fit a bus in the gap between every car, that would just make queues horrific and last minute lane switchers even more incensed to do it.
It always amazes me when I get into a city and everybody drives bumper to bumper, and then they all wonder why we see so many crashes 😂 I swear if I ever leave 2 car lengths you just end up with some kn*b squeezing inbetween
Clip 7, driver should have followed them. Pretty obvious they were not going to stop.
Doesn't matter they have them on camera. Even worse for the other driver now.
Too busy putting their snacks aside

1st video is actually Darnley in Glasgow.
No harm = no action. I'll have to remember that when I'm pulled over by the coppers doing 140mph in a 30. No harm mr police officer, so no action, right?
I stopped because someone was tailgating my ambulance once, the dude just sat there with a shit-eating grin and said "Umm, haven't you got lives to save?"
Next time, I'm just gonna slam on the brakes. See what he does then.
1:28 well done for checking his mirrors before pulling out? That’s what you’re supposed to do before you even indicate. It’s mirror signal manoeuvre. Not just fire your indicator on and go
Ahh yes wave your Hand and everyone will forgive you
How do i send a clip to you
Clip 3 - the scary thing is that the HGV driver thinks his behaviour is correct.
2:30 Maybe the Blue Lorry was trying to tell the Audi clown driver something ...
Under what circumstances would an ambulance on a blue light run, so presumably an emergency, have time to stop and berate an idiot driver?
6:55 Disabled his brake-lights on purpose to do these things...
@the driving instructor: charges and fines can be levied even if no harm occurred. It's called "Driving without due care and attention" among others. It depends on the district whether the police take things further but many counties are introducing websites where you can submit your cam footage online, and they'll take up the the cause. Therefore, the police don't need to be present at an infraction these days to charge if the have cam footage. If you can, ask your MP to get the website going, and lobby the police directly. It's a money spinner so they should be interested and it takes dangerous drivers of the road, with retraining courses imperative in some cases. 😉
#1 - is that a dashcam that's making that warning beep (if so which one) or is it some other device that only lorries have?
No, it's a collision warning system and some cars have that as well. My 3.5 years old car has it, loud beeping noise combined with a big red flashing light in the dashboard.
It's a device any vehicle can have: a sensor at the front which detects closing speed and sounds an alarm before the minimum required braking distance is reached so that the vehicle can be stopped. They're usually fitted to large vehicles as they can do the most damage when an idiot cuts in front of them.
They may also be connected to the brakes to force the vehicle to brake, but that can be dangerous for the occupants of said vehicle when it brakes unexpectedly due to the sensor detecting a potential crash when the vehicle is actually turning a corner and would miss the "obstruction".
@@cigmorfil4101 mine doesn't have auto-brake, but it gives me plenty of false alarms with parked vehicles in bends and similar situations.
@@ArminGrewe My Ford Mondeo has the same sort of system - its referred to as "Collision Assist" which makes me wonder whether it's intended to help you collide 😁
My Garmin has collision alert. Most of the newer ones do. Have a look into them if you are interested. :)

@@henryfuggle1942 because you are attracting their attention in the opposite direction that they need to be looking to avoid the accident. The driver might have looked in their rear view to see what's going on and bang.
Second clip. Staggered white lines. Overtaking is not an offence here. Tipper just trying to bully smaller faster cars. If the tipper driver didn’t know a car was overtaking, then he should check his mirrors more and sooner.
Everybody just calm the hell down, slow down, take your time, don't freak out if someone makes a mistake, and most of this BS wouldn't be happening. Of course, I would also have to find a new way to entertain myself, so there's that...
You could watch American dash cam channels instead, they have an infinite supply of this sort of behaviour and far worse.
@@Monkeh616 Naturally I'm on ALL the dashcam Channels...try the german ones, they are so harmless..

First clip looks like crash for cash
Am I the only one who notices that in clip #10, the rear view footage is not from the same event as the front camera?
I’m the rear view you see no swerving, no stopped car, and a lane merge that is not present in the main video.
1:51, I'm not saying that every Audi driver is a complete tw*t, but every complete tw*t has an Audi!
3.05 He decided to go officer when I was talking to him and he brushed up against my utility belt which was carring my safety hammer and my paramedic shears.
First one? Bloke was obviously in the wrong lane, looked like there wasn’t a lot of signage. I’m assuming the cammer has never been somewhere for the first time. Bit of patience
You don't stop like that tho Doesn't matter what your reason for being in the wrong lane is just follow the lane you are in are reroute when its safe. You dont just stop on a motorway exit and reenter the motorway.
People do need more patience with small mistakes but that wasn't a small mistake that was a dangerous selfish unnecessary move.

Police not prosecuting the queue jumper at the lights? Id have thought driving without due care and attention wouldve been enforced.
They could go after this one or the other one they received the same day where the driver could be identified.. unfortunately they do not have infinite resources. They'll prioritize based on how easy it is to pin it on the driver (or keeper) and how dangerous the act was.

@@JohnSusanSchofieldI disagree with this comment. You would have to prove that they did not see the police vehicle, and you would also have to prove that they would've stopped if they did notice the police vehicle. Maybe they chose to break the law in spite of a police car being at the scene.

This is what’s wrong with legal system. No harm was done this time but that could of easily caused an accident. Basically saying not going to do anything to prevent accidents but one the damage is done we will look into it. At the end of the day what they did was illegal?! You shouldn’t be able to pick and choose what laws you enforce and ones you don’t.
As much as everyone would want to do what the paramedic did, surely if they are running their lights do they have time to waste and stop like that just to speak to some idiot
See other comments explaining why he stopped.
Have you read some of the plenty other comments explaining why they had to stop? No? Maybe you should.....
All the emergency services have a responsibility to ensure that even when responding to emergencies they do so in a manner that is safe, Once the crew is aware the idiot is tailgating the ambulance they have to get out and make an effort to stop him doing so as he putting both their ambulance and other road users at risk by behaving so recklessly. The crew is already dealing with one medical emergency. First rule of any kind of first aid is don't create another medical emergency while responding to the first. If they were responding to a genuinely life or death emergency and lost 30 seconds because they had to speak to this muppet it would be him that was responsible for the ambulance being delayed.
plus we have no context, there are plenty of emergency scenarios that an ambulance can be responding to that aren't necessarily life or death but would still definitely get them to come on the lights an sirens. For example say a bad ankle fracture, they might be a second crew going in to support emergency personnel already on scene etc
About 2 and half minutes in and the following 2 or 3 clips .. no action by police.. this is why thiings escalate into road rage - people think they own the roads - stuff like that should be an automatic £1k fine. Get a couple of fines like that and the bankers will soon stop acting like the whole road is theirs.

Clip #5. Was that a genuine emergency ? I think not. Rightly or wrongly, the Ambulance driver had plenty of time to stop his vehicle and confront the idiot behind him. Just saying.
Almost certainly that was a genuine emergency. But the tailgater was endangering the ambulance and potentially other road users, so the ambulance was forced to take action. Better arrive a minute later than not at all.
If the emergency was someone about to die and the ambulance driver's unnecessary conversation meant they did not arrive in time, then the ambulance driver should be charged with involuntary manslaughter.

The ambulance chasing is illegal from what I understand... my source is an ambulance driver.
Something I don't understand is.. if the ambulance was on an emergency call to, or from hospital, why did they think they had the extra time to stop, get out, and talk to the driver?
@@neonwoof
Because following the ambulance that close is dangerous, the following car can't see anything ahead so if the ambulance has to stop suddenly or change lanes suddenly the following car will pile into the back therefore putting the patients life in more danger. I actually saw this happen a few years ago in Glasgow where a taxi was chasing an ambulance through traffic and a car pulled infront of the ambulance causing it to swerve and slow and the taxi clipped the back of the ambulance and pile into the car that pulled out.

Clip 8 - sorry but no BMW drivers are wankers all the time to everyone
the driver of the golf at #5 might well be a class one d**k head but if the ambulance crew can stop and get out to remonstrate with him it can't have been than urgent a shout!
A blue light run doesn’t always mean imminent danger for a patient, just that they may need specialist resources or be seen quicker than others. You can be stable yet still blue lighted in.
We don’t see what has occurred prior to this moment, and the golf is likely distracting the driver from being able to fully concentrate on the road ahead. Sometimes a 20 second stop to tell them to stop is better than a crash occurring (E.g. someone in front suddenly breaks, so the ambulance has to break suddenly, the gold behind driving so close it crashes into the back of the ambulance) and having to stop for an extended period of time.
wrong. The job of the ambulance crew isn't just to be fast, but also to be safe. The ambulance chaser distracts them at both. The tailgating driver distracts the ambulance driver who now has to watch out for the tailgater to ensure the tailgater doesn't crash into the ambulance, which in turn means the ambulance has to move slower. Then the tailgater generally endangers the ambulance and other traffic participants, again meaning the ambulance crew can't do their job. So the ambulance crew takes action to stop the problem to allow them to get back to their job. They do exactly the right thing and also what they are trained to do.
Is there a law which states that if you're a wanker, you have to drive a BMW?
