How dare he that goes against everything he stands for.
A real unnecessary move by him smh
Yea why😂
Huh
Hey rude 😢
😡
This is EXACTLY what 3d printers are great for. One-off super custom fun fixes and improvements.
The cabinet that's entirely booze definitely makes some of the stuff he's thought up make a LOT more sense.
Exactly my thoughts
Unnecessary Drinking 🤣
thats a lot of jack
Door handles that are miniatures of what’s inside would’ve worked too.
Dont think I didnt notice that awesome initial shot of you talking / printer timelapsing + camera zooming then grabbing the print... NOICE!
I can’t lie I was proud of that one.
@@UnnecessaryInventionsthe day you reply to me is the day I ask my girlfriend Kayla to marry me
@@UnnecessaryInventions Yeah I was gonna put a comment saying "Wow that printer is fast" to point it out
You should make a giant version of the filament spool as a table with a glass top 😊
🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩🥩
@@chloecappello2311what?
@@pigon_yes my thoughts exactly 😂
@@pigon_yes maybe he’s saying it’ll overheat and “cook” the 3D printer machine?
This!!! This right here!!!
The ultimate test…
3d print a 3d printer
8:24 I love the little detail of the paddle under the sofa. It might not seem like a lot for a 5 second clip, but just an extra touch can make it look so much different.
Agreed!
I'm sure you've noticed by now that it's tricky using superglue with acrylic. The fumes from the superglue reacts with your fingerprints and can easily ruin the acrylics. If you use gloves or work under strong ventilation you'll have a much greater chance of your work coming out perfectly. 😊
There are acrylic glues too. The one I got is called weld-on 4.
I say build a foot hammock... With a combination fan and heater under the hammock. This would be a solid 4-5 puzzle piece wide project. Make an app to control it and add hydraulic or otherwise motorized height adjustment to account for sitting up and laying down most comfortably. This could also be accomplished by making the hammock itself adjustable by altering the slack, just have the hammock roll and unroll into a cartridge with a geared motor. I'd also recommend designing the puzzle piece base to have lock clips to lock the foot rest in place with some good old fashioned friction and pressure.
Wow. Part of me wants to say that’s too complicated but most of me just really wants to experience this
@@ryan_raus I intend to post this on every one of his new videos, maybe you'll get to see it one day ;)
Absolutely unneccesary
@@burntalive And therefore a must 👍
Petition for him to make a channel called ‘Useful Inventions’ so that we can see him make useful inventions that help us with our problems!
I think you're totally wired to make necessary inventions. This video was epic!! Please do more of this. I personally love when people stretch their comfort zone.
You should put the signs above the 3D printers but put “Brewing” under it so it says, “Unnecessary Inventions Brewing”
and the brewing part is a neon tube with lights starting to glow when something is actually printing
@@theobaldvonthorhausen3049 that would be awesome
Your level of productivity and broad skillet never ceases to amaze me!
wow, that time lapse of the printing at the beginning and the smooth transition of the hand to the object is awesome!
100% arcade machines! Or the entrance! Love the inventions!
I love how you said "it fits like a glove" and then the next seen is you moving a glove! 😂😂
You should sell some of those. Like the jig and door pulls.
Me: he takes a while to upload
3D Printer: This 3cm Print will take about.... 12 hours
I dont mean this in a bad way
There's a thing called a Hero Clip. It comes in a variety of sizes and hooks on places like tables, doors, chairs and desks. It's a great item.
7:10 ya see the wall with the 3d printers there? The sign should go there
yesss
For the Filament spool cabinet hinges, it would be fun if they could spin as well. adding a slightly unnecessary feature to it
Can we just appreciate the patience this man has
I think you should paint the wires of the sign either white or light grey so they are harder to see.
love these longer style videos
That first edit in which you pulled the part out of the time lapse was so smooth
I love it when he actually gets down and actually kind of talks about it because the other stuff is kind of just talking about the invention not the design Because I just got a 3-D printer and I like hearing of other people having struggles and stressing about if things go good
The door pulls and neon sign look dope! If the pingpong tray took over 9 hrs on the Bambu printer, it would have taken days on any other. I love how the rope LED looks and really want to make a project with it sometime. Nice studio upgrades! Thanks for sharing!
With the filament handles you also color coded your kitchen area so if someone asks "wheres the Coffee at?" you can reply "bright green cabinet" or some mess. Another lovely added benefit
Most of your past products you have made have been extremely useful.
Right?
look what most people dont get about his work is that he makes "unnecessary" things not "useless" things there is a difference
Loved this video!
A little suggestion: I think your studio could really benefit from some acoustic treatment. There's a lot of reverb on your voice, which isn't always optimal for video. Just a thought 😊 Keep up the good work!
I love all your videos.
So much
First I am so glad you are now “Necessary inventions.”
The blue you used for the logos is literally my favorite color!
0:20
That drip
Unnecessary inventions with the unnecessary drip
thank you for making content you inspire me to keep inventing. love ya brother
I’d love the STLs for the handles to use in my studio 🤩
I’m so jealous of everyone who gets to see you at Open Sauce! Have fun!
The beginning intro transitions are smooth!👌
Next time u make that type of sign only peel the letters out not the outline and it's a perfect template, and u don't need to etch into the acrylic. At my sign shop we make a template with vinyl, like a negative of the sign. Stick it on glue the letters down and peel it back up. Use a low tac vinyl though.
Maybe you should make multiple different colors or patters for the sign and put them in multiple places
All his inventions are solving most problems
Have you released a file for the spool cabinets handles. Need them on all of my draws!!!!!
Keep up the great work 🎉
Put the sign on the wall over the printers. Its a big, open, bare spot. Plus then we can all admire it during your videos
Holy shit, was he doing that design in Fusion as quick as he was talking, and as quickly as he finished describing it?
Put it in the entrance lobby
The fact that he left one cabinet without a handle 💀💀💀
Make some of the filament spools with different amounts of filament to look like you have used them
What software do you use for your designing?
Some of these things as a downloadable stl would be amazing!!!
I really wish you'd release the stl for the spool knobs!
its weird that no one has copied your idea and sol it off on online, cause some of them are really too handy and some will even give money for it!
Love the builds. What I wish is that my students feel as inventive as you do.
10:08 LOL, literally the reason you created the ping-pong holder
this guy is playing minecraft in real life
I think you should put it on the entrance Door
Could you please make a knife that is kind of shaped like those crinkle cut makers - a handle that's parallel to the blade, so you just go straight down? (kind of shaped like a capital "D" where the blade has a slight rock to it like a pizza cutter, and you hold the flat side) It seems like it would be a fantastic knife alternative for people with a variety of disabilities - I used it in the kitchen as a child because it was safer, and it's much easier one-handed than a normal knife. It would also let you use your elbow or shoulder as the rotation point for chopping, not your wrist.
I don't have any way to bring it to life or market myself, but I would absolutely love to see it! (and honestly, use it, I wear wrist braces often)
Someone needs to make a break down of this video! That was the most entertaining presentation of making the most boring things. Jeez, there were sooo many brilliant techniques in this video!
The UI combination logo mark is really excellent.
I HAVE AN IDEA FOR AN INVENTION: It’s called the “Poetry Maker” It uses randomizers to make different lines, so you can make cool unique pieces!
how long before that hook rips out of the table? I would recommend attaching it to the side, which may have issues depending on material. But the better option would be a part that fits on the side and sandwiches the desk between arms. You could still have a fastener if you are concerned about material stress, but I imagine you could make one that wouldn't require any fasteners.
Who do you think you are?? Entertaining AF AND useful???
You’re videos motivate me to get out there and do stuff, thanks Matty!
About the pingpong accessory holder, you should try and create a pingpong ball dispenser, so that you can store more balls and the convenience of getting a ball when you lost the ball somewhere in your studio
Hey. could you build Headphones for people with glasses. I’m thinking make holes through which the glasses can go through. Also could you upload the CAD design so I can print it. Thanks
Hey! Odd question; but do you know what kind of flooring is in your studio? Looks like an oak LVP and looks great! Any product info you can link would be much appreciated, thank you!
you could have used the AMS to 3D print the filiament spool in one go. But, like the idea!
i would say out the sign iin the lobby area, over your desk or maybe on the wall over the 3d printers
I totally want to sneak in just to replace the ping-pong balls with fresh eggs.
definitely think the sign will look good in the middle of the wall were the 3d printers are and then you put like pictures all around it
0:00 to 0:15
How did you get that print transition to look so smooth?
I think that sign would be cool sideways on that pillar but I’m not sure it would fit
That duct tape trick is genius
Bro. You are just a genius. Wow ❤
Restaurants should attache those hooks to tables for purses.
That thing for ping pong stuff is next level it is so cool
Where can I buy the french fry cutter?
Im looking to try 3d printing do you have any suggestions and what is the thing you use to mesure
What I would do with that sign is make two of them, give them a mirrored back panel to hide the wires, then place those back to back so it's a double sided sign.
that studio would eb such a cool place to live and has so much space, idk why you choose to pay for two places even if you can afford both
I love your videos. I hope this message finds you well. You are such an inspiration. I started my own company late last year. Making some serious headway this year towards quitting my day job. Hope to meet you one day
Replace the wires for the "neon" sign with some proper gauges enamel copper wire. It stands out less I think. Looks Good though, and you can follow the contour of the dot on the I to hide the wires in there all together.
I laughed so hard when he swooshed his hands above the keyboard pretending that he's typing something when he was explaining how he designed the filament holder like he's doing it in real time
those drawer pulls are sick
Can you share some of the STLs?
You should hang the sign over the 3d printer wall because its kinda plain there.
I believe it should go above the 3-d printers because that space is kind of empty.
When you were designing the handles, i thought it was gonna be HUGE
quite the opposite actually
Those cabinet knobs look amazing
The ping pong invention is one or your all time inventions. Can’t believe that isn’t already a product. There is so much there too, different colors, logos, etc
Put facing the street by The street!!! I would love if you took my suggestion
That place is massive and it's coming along nice
Invention suggestion
Flop flips!
Ever have someone following you?
Wear these and it’ll be solved
The bottom of the flop flips looks like your going the other way
Now you never have to worry abt the person who is following you ;)
That hook looks like 10x more stable than any command hook I’ve ever owned
How can you be better at 3d printing than soldering???
u do know they make hooks that are a lot cheaper than making ur own
I love the iphone style backwards development. :D Cabinets always had handles, then minimalists took them away and now you have to reinvent them. :D
MORE NECESSARY INVENTIONS PLEASE!
Your studio is more stacked than my engineering classroom
Where did you learn Fusion 360? Definitely interested in learning as well!
The cable at the neon sign you can just take off the protector for the cable and glue it on the sign so that you can’t see it because the cable is too small
