  • Shaunae Miller Uibo is the reigning Olympic champion in the 400m dash and just the 2nd woman in history to defend their Olympic Gold medal in the event. Early in 2023, she announced that she was pregnant and eventually gave birth to her first child in late April.
    Though Miller-Uibo quickly returned to competition, actually competing in a heptathlon and then running the 400m heats at the Budapest world championships, the question on everyone’s mind now is if she is capable of winning an unprecedented 3rd Olympic gold medal in Paris next year. Can actually win another Olympic 400m Gold, or will she be switching to the heptathlon sooner than we think?

    Great presentation once again . When she becomes the first triple cosecutive gold medal Olympian for 400 meters we will change The Bahamas Islands' name to Shaunae Land .

      Appreciate that! Haha I'm sure Bahamians are on the edge of their seats waiting for her to get that gold! She already is, but would certainly further solidify her legend status!

    She is so likable. It’s hard to not root for someone so accomplished and so enjoyable to watch. Would be so epic for her to win gold again in Paris

    Very well explained, loved the video. She is actually my favorite athlete and I am a fan of the 400m event, she will get that 400m tittle next year with a massive PB 👍🏻🙏🏻you’ll see it

      @@TheFinalLeg yeah it would be amazing for her, Fraser Price found a way to run sub 10.7 after giving birth so I know her desire, the love for the sport and her child will make her stronger to run sub 48 or 48 low

    200 m is stacked rn. She would need to go sub 21.5 for a medal. With gabby 21.6, shericka, 21.4 and who knows if Elaine can get back or even better than her 21.5 shape. I think she would have a better chance of winning the 400m

    • @TheFinalLeg
      @TheFinalLeg  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Exactly. The 200m has drastically improved over the past few years and running sub 22 wont even cut it to just get on the podium.

      @@419er I don’t know if you realize this but times at the Olympics and Olympic seasons tend to have faster times than other seasons.

    • @kc5466
      @kc5466 Před 8 měsíci

      @@419er and the year before it took 22.22 and 22.51 to medal. I don’t know if you notice but the medal improvements from the world championships before the Olympics to the actual Olympic tournament were astronomical which precisely illustrates my point. That the times usually improve during the Olympics over the prior season.
      However sub 21.5 is a bit over the top and outside of the possibilities and I don’t agree with that. But if a 21.59 or better for a medal I could agree with.
      Although the commenter statement was in the high end of the possibilities during the Olympics it’s not improbable. Next year there will be 3 athletes competing that have ran 21.60 or better. Typically athletes run their personal best at the Olympics. If each save their personal best for the Final that prediction of needing 21.5 to medal comes true. But the sub 21.5 is alot harder to actually accomplish or foresee. Granted Elaine has to be Elaine of old and gabby has to start to run her best times outside of the US.
      If I were to say you may need a 10.6 to medal in the 100m in the Olympics. That is also not improbable because there is a possibility that 4 athletes lining up next year have all ran sub 10.7. Again that’s on the high end of possibilities but you can’t discount it since you needed a sub 10.8 to medal this year and the only other time that has happened was Olympics 2021. But saying you may need a sub 10.6 to medal would be preposterous, similar to saying you may need a sub 21.5.

    What complicates this too is that the Bahamas has qualified for the 400x4 mixed. With Gardiner there is a real chance the Bahamas can compete in that race. Go Team Bahamas.

    I don’t think she’ll run the 200m, at least not as her main event. I’d her to try the heptathlon but I suspect she’ll return to the 400m.

    • @TheFinalLeg
      @TheFinalLeg  Před 8 měsíci +2

      Agreed. I think her focusing on the heptathlon in 2026 is a good move since that is the off year and no pressure. But for now, the 400m in Paris is most likely.

    Love Shaunae, a very beautiful runner. I think the Heptathlon is in no way in her future, I think she was just doing it for fun and to get back into shape. If she is dedicated, I think she has a great shot at winning gold in Paris, really the only real competition will be from Paulino who will most likely run faster than before. Maybe Wilson or Kaczmarek could improve enough to challenge Shaunae, but I doubt it.
