I play against one of the English Puyo Puyo community's best Puyo players; Yoshi100_AUS in a game of swap, though the condition of the match aren't so favorable. As a result we try to have as a competitive of a swap match as we can, though shenanigans from us and the game ensue.

10:31 The game over was caused by the T piece placed before the swap being entirely above row 20. The game checks for top-outs before it checks for line clears.

@@ChubbyTheo no, Andrew is right. The t piece BEFORE the swap was placed on row 20. It was still counted as placed on row 21, so it was a top out.
That… shouldn’t be the T-Piece, unless the game somehow still registers it despite it vanishing due to that rule in Swap… is PPT just unable to recognize the fact that it’s piece doesn’t exist?

The swap guy played against a god with chaotic evil netcode against them

I've felt the Swap Netcode thing before many time, it's pretty bad. Sometimes there's no netcode issues, others there is around 1 to 3 second delay.
The "no!" with the misdrop counter ticking up was DELICIOUS and so perfectly timed
Remember kids. The Swap Netcode has a slight disadvantage.

I guess the game freaked out, since at 9:57 Yoshi placed an L piece right before the T piece poofed during swap. I think since the T piece was locked out of play at the same time it poofed away, the game believed Yoshi100 was already dead in Tetris? idk that's probably the only good explanation for why.

I think the reason why Yoshi topped out somewhere around the 10-minute mark has something to do with the game being very jank when it comes to stuff on the left or right of the center 4 columns. Yoshi dropped an L-piece on the right side, going over the threshold.

9:59- 10:27 the T piece dissapeared on top of the board, and the game probably thought that yoshi had all of his pieces stacked up whilst he still has space for the S piece, thus making him lose

From one side it is simply amazing
To the other side thought It makes me realize how bad i am at the game (i'm a puyo player, my biggest chain was a 9 but i usually do 5-6 chains)
And i did 2 t-spins in my entire life
PPT's a hard game, you have to learn a lot of stuff outside of what the game itself teaches you. 5-6 chains usually isn't bad at all! Just keep going! You'll get progressively better.
@@SchoellScrub i think i started playing puyo 2 years ago so i'm accostumed to it (and that is also why i stink at tetris considering i didn't even played puyo puyo tetris 1 or ANY other tetris game besides puyo puyo tetris 2 obviously)
Had a normal tetris match (no swap or anything) where the pieces would just straight up hover in the same spot for literal seconds lol
Sorry for talking too much, but at 10:26 when he topped out, it was because the t piece disappeared at the very top where you top out. So even though it looked like he could have lived. The thing screwed him over.

The reason yoshi lost in round 8 was because of the T piece being placed on row 21 (it disappeared because it didn’t clear a line)
How do you change your trigger? because I usually have the entire right collum blank to know which puyo to pop
