      @@B_Bodziak and if you have to travel dead miles back then it’s costing you$13.40 for that trip. And it’s costing you the good orders are missing during that time. (I’ve gotten plenty of bangers / relatively speaking like $13 for 2.8 miles and with the head and tip it actually was $25 for like 15 minutes of work/ right after declining a couple of crap ones and even a mediocre one and I’m at 6% AR right now. Normally I hover between 18 and 22.) so many of these orders would literally be charity, because they would cost us more than the order is paying. And while I know, they only seem to show eight dollars for 3 miles, which I’ve had go up to different next-door neighbors that happened to be the same day both said eight dollars for exactly 3 miles; one went up from 8 to 14 upon completion. The other one up from eight dollars to 850 when I completed the order drop off. But I just assume the ones that are like over 10 miles and not even nearly a dollar a mile, will not be going up because they would show more of it.
      One thing I assumed which I was wrong about was that if it was a strange number like not ending in a quarter amount ie 7.25 or 7.50 or 7.75… but any odd change number I always just assumed would not be going up. But I have since seen on a few occasions watching on here that they do indeed go up sometimes despite the strange number that you would just assume was the shopping every penny. Not saying they went up a lot I don’t even recall how much. But I still would never take one. I was not OK with as is because as soon as you assume it’s going to go up it never does.
      And final thought : even for top Dasher or platinum Dasher, when they do show the high pay banner or the diamond banner for a while… which can be four dollars for 2 miles but aside from that they just mean per mile, even then, they don’t always put the banner on the ones offering more per mile or the plus sign when it’s gonna go up. (which I can go up one penny I’ve seen all tho the lowest I’ve had to go up is a quarter lol) because even for their most prolific drivers who take a lot of crap to get the occasional banger banger, they still want to play head games so that they always wonder if it will go up. 🤦🏻‍♀️

    • @rachmunshine9474
      @rachmunshine9474 Před 27 dny

      I’m not gonna say that the head games Don’t occasionally work, bc yesterday I had a 1.4 mile Dairy Queen for $5.50 and I thought well they can only show so much per mile. If they’ll show eight dollars for 3 miles Idk but this was early before dinner rush and I have had them show me $7.25 for just under a mile. (I was around the corner from the restaurant at the house was .9 miles.) but that was during busier dinner hour. And that one went up to 21 and change.
      So I thought this one has a good chance of going up because I mean at like 4 PM or whatever it was maybe even three (I would have to check) maybe that was the most they would show for a mile a mile and a half. But alas. Nice, nice house and all so it just figures that that one did not go up.
      That’s why I always just assume it’s gonna be what they offer. That’s the second time I had a strong feeling that was gonna go up and if I declined it waiting for a bigger order, that I would’ve missed out on something (because the times that I went on ones that went up a lot I was like it’s a good thing I accepted this one maybe I was not quite in the mood to do another delivery or whatever the case that I would’ve even possibly not done it) if I didn’t take it because I thought it would probably go up and it’s a second time I’ve been wrong.
      😂 so now, no matter how far or short the ride is, I will only assume that what they’re offering is what it’s paying. Anything else is just gravy to jump up and down about after. If it happens, but you definitely cannot count on it.
      If they are showing less than the whole amount for some of these very far and upside down rides, it’s so unfair to the customer!!! because they could’ve gotten their food a lot faster if DD actually showed the amount, and from what I’ve heard, Uber eats is hiding tips too now. 😮

    • @avatarinum
      @avatarinum Před 10 měsíci +10

      @Leroyjenkins999 but you have to consider the mileage [to and from] as a means to properly Guage whether or not a particular run benefits the driver. If it does, then great. I'm not saying every run will be equal or fantastic, but there needs to be a base in which the driver won't have to operate at a loss from certain distances that based on the customer's order would necessitate a minimum order to make it worth the trip. Remember, there is wear and tear on the car going out and coming back, plus any other operationally related costs.

      Idk what State you're in because minimum wage varies depending on the state you live in..in California where I'm at in southern CA. Is currently 15 dollars per hour but in los Angeles is higher than 15 and also in northern California. We have probably the highest rent and highest gas prices and anything under 6 dollars should be illegal in California but in states where minimum wage is 12 or less ,5 dollars is not bad, and regardless of what part of the country we're at everything under 5 should be illegal, but this apps already covered their asses by paying the corrupt politicians and people in high places that have the power to regulate them. And seriously our government doesn't care about us, when they do get involved is because because they want their cuts from this apps and I'm sure here in California because of prop 22, the government officials in California already got paid, so we're on our own.

    Best thing to do is don’t work for those greedy bustards or your pay grade will going under $8/hr! Feels like they have a lot reason to charge a lot from customers and also a lot of reason will take out half of what you make in a day! Don’t work for the business that you only make $20/hr with ur own car and gas, you need to make at least like $40/hr to cover all those expense to make a little bit above minimum wages! Algorithms are making the worse pay now, so stop wasting your money and time and invest somewhere else!

    That $3.42 is basically your fare. I hate the orders that don’t tip at all just because they think we get fare money so we they don’t need to tip. I got orders consistently between $3-5 dollars to go 23 miles in rush hour traffic. Nope, or the shop and pays $5.00 to shop for there 15 items then drive 12 miles it to them, unloading and bring it to their doors step. Nope, then you get people who order $9.00 worth of food go 2 miles and they tip you $12.00. Yes please and Thank you! It’s a struggle for sure!

    been doing UE for about 6 months now and it’s not even worth it in my hometown, it’s all just the 3-5$ orders. i live on long island so ill drive out to the hamptons and spend a night out there since the people tip VERY well. (i got a 30$ tip once on a 6 mile order) i don’t deliver anywhere but there since nowhere else is worth it
    i do instacart too but that i do anywhere and im more forgiving with the no tip orders since groceries are a necessity and you never know if someones spending the last of their money on it and just can’t afford to tip you. plus a lot of customers i’ve delivered to for IC are elderly or disabled or sometimes both. takeout delivery is a luxury service, and while grocery delivery is considered one too it’s straight up a necessity for others

    It's the only job I know where the owners and "SOME CUSTOMERS" think you should operate at a loss to please them. They should try this with their Doctors, Dentist, Mechanics, Grocery Stores, Utility Companies and see where it gets them. It may be legal, BUT IT IS UNETHICAL AS HELL! Like you; it has to be worth my time and other expenses. On occasion I might take one at .90 cents per mile for a "SHORT DISTANCE". But that is it! That being said UE has been kicking DD to the curb for the past few days! UE seemed to be getting like DD for a bit! Uber Eats-Don't get cheap like Door Trash: I mean Door Dash!

    In addition to Uber eats, it's the same thing with regular Uber. Declined a ride pop-up pickup a rider 5 min away but they were going to San Diego for a 100 mile trip but the compensation was $50, that's highway robbery! On the flip side I grabbed rides that were $48 for 36 miles. Cherry pick your rides and deliveries to maximize your compensation. If everyone did this then it would force Uber and Lyft to eliminate stupid $2 or $3 rides, I never accept those.

Hope it’s ready and then bring it to that person so I just pissed away at least 20 minutes and people think I’m being ridiculous. It’s not about not wanting to serve that particular person.
