Roman, just wanted to say, you started something very special with these channels and should be very proud. Youve left something that Tommy can take forward, every mans dream. You did it
Oh no please tell me this isn’t over? These videos are the best and are genuinely hilarious. Please guys do more content like this.
1000% true
The 4.6 Ford V8s were used in taxis and police cars, the 5.4s never were…
Besides displacement, how are they different?
Came for this comment.😂😂😂 uhhhhh no they did not
@@UZForLifethe 5.4 shoots spark plugs. That’s how there different 😂. And the stroke is also different besides that not much
@@BoxImpala313 I thought the longer stroke was how they got the bigger displacement out of the same bore as the 4.6.
Exactly my thoughts. The 5.4 was not good to work on and less reliable than the 4.6 used in many vehicles and the panther platform cars as mentioned.
I hope you guys tow up the Ike. Better start now with the Land Cruiser so you can finish before the end of the month! 🤣😂
Cuck😂
Great video series, this is totally classic TFL with Roman, Andre, and Nathan. It reminds me why I started watching this channel years ago.
Thanks for watching for so long!
The dynamic that you 3 have and the camaraderie between you guys makes great videos.
Nathan with his face impressions looking like Bufford T Justice
All three seem good alternative to $100,000 new SUVs that could put people into major payments/debt. I have a 1995 Land Cruiser.
Unless they live where gas is $5/gallon
I have that Tahoe's big brother... 1997 Suburban K2500 (4x4, 3/4-ton, 7.4L L29 V8). (Not L19 454/7.4L )
@@tdub25Still better for someone like me who doesn’t commute
I got a 2007-2015 expedition Lincoln and a gmc / chevy / Buick /Saab / Isuzu trailblazer and a Lexus rx 350 all at 130 - 165 k miles only one with problems has been that ford co motor phasers and plugs stuff and near same with gm co and oil pumps on hoses and pumps and three
@@tdub25 Can buy a lot of gas with that $1000+/mo payment you'll be saving...
Roman showed who is the boss and was the only one able to catch something with the rope. Can't wait to see the first video of TFL Fish. Thanks for such a funny video.
Coming soon!😉
The best kind of episode; neither scripted nor serious. This series, combined with the direction of TFLclassics (both with Brendan and post-Brendan), is exhibiting the strengths of TFL instead of struggling to be first in new vehicles or trying to script a known result into a surprise reaction.
TFL Boat is actually a really good idea. It's like it's the next logical step. lol
This is one of those things that if you have owned one of these (I owned the Tahoe) you are going to believe you have the best version simply because all of these were very reliable and durable.
Agreed, you really can't go wrong with any of these.
Lighten up everyone it’s just a silly competition. Those three make it tons of fun though. I have an Expedition so I was rooting for Nathan 😂 Keep doing these, TFL
Sold our 98 expedition a couple years ago. That thing was a beast off-road! Loved it and miss it a lot
Tumbleweed looks like so much fun. Hang out with your friends and make up competitions for your cars-and make a video and call it work. Good times.
We had a 2002 Expedition & it had 340,000 miles on it when I sold it. It never gave me one second of trouble.
Lol no hate but I find that hard to believe 😅 I own one with the 5.4L and it always gives me trouble. Right now it's doing good now and taken care of main issues but it still needs a lot of parts replace.
• Diff fluid change
• Valve on cyl 8
• New clutch fan
And that's just about it... hmm I could a swore that there was a lot more to be done lol
Well that's my expedition for you (2000 xlt rwd expedition)
@@miguelochoa2103
Mine had the 4.6 XLT. I should have said the engine & transmission has never given me one issue. The ball joints were replaced, but that's a Ford for you.
But other than the ball joints not one issue.
@scottyellis3442 thats cool to hear bro. When I first got mine, it had major radiator problems and when 1k was put into the radiator, pump, dealership hoses... it ran better. I still have it for family hauling but I do wish I could fix the parasitic clutch fan cuz it doesn't cool the ac enough and driving from a stop to a go takes time for rpms to reach up on super warm days.
Just little details that need to get sorted out.
@@miguelochoa2103trucks over 20 years old at that point I wouldn’t say that’s “trouble” you’re just maintaining the vehicle at that point
@bryanmesser7098 yeah you're right
Big Mouth Billy Bass (talking bass) should have been the trophy. Great episode!
Catching the fish made me laugh out loud! 😂 Funniest episode yet!
Somebody please tell Nathen the 5.4L was not used in taxis or cop cars. It was the 4.6L
ya know 130 ft and 43 yards are pretty similar 😂
lol. Very true
Yep, and he didn't have to walk all the way back and remeasure from the beginning. He could have just walked it back. LOL 😂
Watching you guys run old vehicles is the best love the new reviews but watching cars that are not 100k STILL getting it done is amazing!
80 series Landcruiser, my favorite. I recall the time a friend put mine on a lift and told me it was built like a tractor 😂
Love these videos of the older vehicle challenges. These are the vehicles I grew up with, stuff from the 80s and 90s.
Nathan got screwed bc he had to set up his pole. Everyone else’s was set up already
I took the fishing score out of it.
But he said he was fine with that.
Plus he had to re position to the trenches to appease Roman's whining
Nathan got screwed when he got a Ford...lol
Always glad when Nathan is there to actually drive fast
The 5.4 Triton DIDN'T come in Crown Vic cop cars that would be the 4.6
I’d measure to the front bumper, what part of the vehicle smashes into the vehicle in front of it first no matter where the front axle may be. The Fords long stopping distance and won’t hold anything cup holder keeps you mad and alert, looking way ahead when driving, Safety is Job One!
Welcome to the new TFL Outdoors channel.
Which really isn’t a bad idea. A channel dedicated to Outdoor equipment and accessories camping, over landing, etc. Great place to do camper and trailer reviews.
Mid 90s-2007 tahoes and suburbans are probably the best all around SUVs made. Toyotas are great, but low on power, fuel mileage, and family use utility. The 350 chevys, 4.8 and 5.3 vortecs are awesome motors
I agree, I own a 1995 Chevy truck, but when Toyota put the 5.7 in the sequoia it started eating Tahoes and Expeditions
I love this series. The most reliable engine I've ever seen was the GM 4.8L V8. The trucks/SUVs body could literally be falling through the frames but they would start and run regaurdless...
The 5.9L Cummins has entered the chat...
What about the 5.3 ? They were the same exact block just had more displacement and made just a tad more power and torque
@masonwheeler9624 It's a great motor too. I was a tech in the for almost a decade and I'm not really sure why but the 4.8L would come rolling in 400k or more. Maybe just a cheaper option for the area but we had 6 or 7 of these high rollers coming in for basic maintenance and nothing more. Plenty of 200K + 5.3L too, but no where near the 400K mark...
@richfarfugnuven6308 Mopar didn't make a lot of bad engines but most were on their second or third transmission and or the body decided weight reduction was the way to go lol
@@richfarfugnuven6308he’s never seen one
Nathan, the motor your referring to is actually the 4.6. Thats the one that is known for reliability and put inside all the fleet vehicles. The 5.4 is known to be less reliable and is less common. Just like how most chevy gm products have the 5.3. Over their less common 6.0. Half ton wise at least.
I love the series like this. Can’t wait to see what y’all think of next. Would love to see an early late 80s early 90s midsize showdown. Toyota pickup , hardbody, range, s-10. Would be really cool to see since people are selling these things with 200k for 10k plus all the time.
NEXT time it’s “GO BIG…Again…AND Again” 😂
When you weren't in line for Levi's or canned food, you were fishing. Lol! OMG, that cracked me up. 🤣
Love it, the fishing challenge and the sound of nature reminded me of many fun adventures in our 90s vehicle. Buying any used vehicle you should look for three things, no accidents, good maintenance records with quality materials and minimal modifications.
Epic , fun, light hearted . Great episode guys! Love seeing you three doing such challenges very wholesome !
More please!
Cheers from Kenya!
You guys seem to have a lot of fun with these type of videos! Great stuff!
This is a very entertaining series. Thanks
Ill be honest. I keep forgetting to watch yall even though i get a new video notification of you guys but... when i do, i get a laugh and a smile on my face watching you guys have fun everytime and i remind myself why i will never unsubcribe from you guys! Awesome as always Nathan, Audre, and Roman! Same goes for Tommy and the rest of the crew behind the scenes doing their best!! Best underated channel of all time ❤
Definitely can tell when you guys know how to have fun! I like this one a lot. Great catch and great race gents!
What a fun video !!!! Great job guys, this video goes great with a Sunday cup of coffee, hilarious!!!!
The 4.6 is used in the panther platform, not the 5.4 .
Great comedy for a dreary Sunday morning! Tahoe for the win!
Glad you enjoyed it
Nathan is wrong, cop cars and taxi's ALL had the 4.6L not the 5.4L
LOL BOOM. Way to go Roman! Represent!
Forget the fish. The 80 series looked the best and most at home in its element anyway so 3points for that. 👍👍
I’ve been a Ford fan boy forever but I’ve been a GMT400 fan just as long. I’d take that thing every day of the week and twice in Sunday!
My 90s chevy 1500 had the besy powertrain! But the brakes sucked.
Great series guys! Huge fan of the channel. Had a suggestion though: I'm a huge outdoor enthusiast and drive a 2005 Toyota Sienna for my outdoor adventures. I would love to see a new challenge video series about minivan set ups. Kind of like the original Go Big series with the big SUVs, but this time 3 minivans go against each other in a mom vehicle show down. Overall, great content guys!!!
5:32 the 5.4L it isn't the EXACT SAME engine as the crown vic police and taxi cars. the base 4.6L is. 5.4 was only in the trucks and suvs. f150, base excursion, base f250, higher trim expedition.
Love all of this! You guys are living.
this was the funniest TFL Video Iv seen so far... Excellent !
You guys should do the 4lo crawl and see who wins the slowest drag race
The 4.6 was the better engine. Not as much power but, Bullet proof.
You guys are too funny. I can’t get enough!!! Keep the hilarity coming!
Love the banter of these three!
I have a 1993 Land Cruiser. If I recall, the engine is out of a fork lift and the transmission is out of a 30 passenger bus.
Finally, a happy Roman. Great job guys!
Haha! That was a fun video. I liked the Tumbleweed course. Andre looked like he was s******* bricks when Nathan was going down the hill 😂
No matter what... i love that Chevy in red👍
Love how in the braking test they left cones from previous tests but didn't use them, and still measured successive tests from 0
That was awesome thanks guys
You bet
I love these videos. Well done.
Coolest and funnest thing in the world, thank you TFL
Great Sunday as always
Glad you enjoyed it
Time for TFL funniest channel. Maybe some bicycle race next.. Thank you guys. Love from NY.
Love these series guys. Hilarious.
☕Love The Morning Coffee Entertainment TFL🙏 Hope Everyone Has a Happy Sunday and Good Week Ahead✌️
Have a nice day
@@TFLtruck You Too
Awesome series, love the trucks😎🔥🇳🇴
Thanks 👍
How in the hell did any of you 3 make it this far in life ?
Loved it - great episode!
😂
This was a fun and funny experiment 😄 😅 good job guys
TFL fishing should definitely return!!!
It might not be exactly scientific but yes it sure is fun. I love tfl truck. Been watching it lots since 2015 by the way, I have a 2011 expedition and I would bet I could beat all of their times in my personal vehicle..😂😂😂😂. It is fun though we enjoy this stuff!! shout out to TFLtruck
Great show!!!
It’s pretty much 3 guys having fun
Always loved the look of the square body Tahoes.
I don’t know why I watch these videos but I love that I do 😂😂😂
Love these fun videos!
You should do a video on the 3rd and 4th gen explorers no one really does videos on them much I would love to see tfl make a video off roading in a 3rd or 4th gen explorer
Such a fun series
loved this episode especially the fishing
I like this series, but I wish they had put the same tires and performed basic maintenance on them before testing.
Yes Tfl fish. Tommy and kase vs everyone lol 😂. They crushed it I was so proud
I love this kind of content.
The only thing that would have improved this vid would be to have a scramble with everyone racing at the same time...hilarious!!
The perfect job is where you get paid to do what you love. This was just a fun video!!! Great job.
Need to do a fix it part where something 'goes wrong' and lets see how easy it is to get the part and how much it costs to fix it and if the owner is actually able to fix it. :) I love the toyota however the simplicity of the GM is pretty well deserved.
That is a beautiful Tahoe. I like the other two SUVs, but I love the Tahoe. It is such a timeless design.
I live in Tx ... i rarely see a landcruiser anywhere..... but the Tahoes and Expos are very plentiful..
Same would have been true when they were new. Point?
@@ThePioneerSpirit And this is especially important due to repair costs and easy of access to parts.
Ford and GM products will always be more accessible than Toyota.
@@ThePioneerSpirit my c4 Vette needs like 20 different parts replaced right now. It's about $750-1000. (Things like a new alternator, brake bads and rotors, temperature sensor etc etc)
I did the same for my wife's Toyota(just to see), not only more significantly expensive, but a lot on back order/shipping from over seas. It's insane.
Theres also a huge market for exporting land cruisers from USA to Africa and the Middle East which is why you dont see many more Land Cruisers. Also a huge market for single cab short bed V8 truck export to the Middle East for whatever reason.
Family! bickering like a bunch of brothers.
These are the best videos!!!
that exact engine is absolutely NOT used in fleet vehicles
4.6
That 0 to 60 on the cruiser actually makes me feel a lot better. I have a similar lift and tires and live at a similar altitude but an regeared to 4.56 and have 3x the mileage and I just clocked 15.6 to 60. So that means my engine isn't as tired as I thought... It's just always been slow.
Can't wait for the go midsize series.
Loved my 02 expedition so much that i sold my clapped out 08 f250 and bought a 2011 expedition EL.
I swear Andre looks like Wallace from Wallace and Gromit when he is grimacing while riding with Nathan and Roman.
The 5.4 was not used in the Crown Vic, they used a 4.6
You should fishing in silence 😮 And im pretty sure that Roman is being fishing there before 😂😂😂👍
Fish are not in the middle of the pond. They hang out near grass or logs. Also, keep your rod down and slow drag to lure
"Cast Father Nathan" - Andre
"Oh, Thank you Andre" - Nathan
'Hahahahhaha" - Me
Taxis and police cars used the 4.6L
I want to hear more about the Tommy "bender" story and throwing furniture in the pond.
