*I love watching your videos!* *I have a bunch of 3d printers, including an ELEGOO Saturn Resin 3D Printer, and I've learned a ton from you.*
*Your videos are short and precise for the vast amount of info you provide, which I love.*
Another high-effort, super informative, and concise video. This is the best channel to learn about specific printers.
Another great review. I like the addition of the nat sound of the printer working as that gives some context to how loud it might be when it's working at the different speeds. It would be great if you could do a video on why you pick the settings you use while tweaking other stock printers for newer models since that would help users like me find ways to optimize our prints, like best speeds for first layer, infill, etc.
Clear, concise, and the best 3d printer reviews.
Single bed mod I've made to my pair of E5-S1's has been to relocate the CR Touch problem to a zero Y offset. Auto bed leveling works flawlessly now and first layer issues are a thing of the past. It literally moves this printer up a full notch in quality & usability.
I got this printer on release date, couldn't be more happy comming from a Flsun i3 plus which broke every week... I love to see you pushed the limits of it since i was just printing at 120mm/s, I would love to see if you can make some improvements over this machine too, Thanks Aurora for your great videos!
UPDATE 2 Months: 3 Sonic Pads, 3 Creality printers, Ender 3V2, S1, 5Plus. All have reliability issues. All on latest Dec firmware. One SonicPad had issue with USB port and took out control board, causing Thermal runaway, Ingot a SonicPad replaced, but the control board I had to pay for. The issues are varied, but mostly the disconnects with error on the connections to FLUIDD are maddening, tried multiple cables, direct on internet versus wifi, etc. We bought these to speed up our printers and have better quality..it is seeming more and more that this is a myth. By the time you put all this money in Creality, you might be better buying a Bambu Labs for $699 that will do up to 500 mm/s and you don’t have to mess around with it. Plus, Creality service is terrible, non-responsive, asks wrong questions, etc. they said there would be another update, but time has passed and no details or acknowledgment. If you rely on these printers and this setup, beware for now.
Awesome review! My daughter wants a 3D printer for her birthday, this is a great review of all the things she will have to do to set up. Thank you!
Good review of an interesting printer. Thanks for the time you put in!
I hope this gives you some additional perspective. Something else is that they have the build platform and xy motion performed at the top of the machine which to some extent reduces the rigidity by raising the center of gravity of the machine, especially under high acceleration/jerk motions. Also the build plate starting at the end of the leadscrew's travel creates further susceptibility to rigidity/accuracy/repeatability issues due to cylindricity tolerances. For these reasons I'd rather see z move xy than the build plate or printhead alone. Again, your videos have been such a great resource for keeping a pulse on the 3d printer market. Concise yet complete. I like when you comment on cheap ways to mod the machines for higher performance. I hope you can get your hands on the Bamboo Labs P1P, bc with the available COTS tech these days its hard to debate not making your own machine with all of the best features.
Terrific video by a very charming and competent presenter. You have a great future ahead of you in the business.
Thanks for the video and thanks for giving Creality the feedback you did. I just purchased a combo with the sonic pad last week so I am assuming they listened to your advice.
Another excellent review. No nonsense and honestly critical.
Interesting combo
Thanks for sharing your excellent video as always, Love it :-)
Thank you a lot for your work and high quality videos! The majority of printer users or 3D creators share the same room with their 3D printers therefore NOISE data in decibels (dB )would be much appreciated in your reviews if possible! :) Cheers!
You’re reviews are the best! Would you ever consider doing an up to date tier list or comparison video? I’d love to know your overall impressions on some of the best printers for each price range comparing them to each other based on your personal preference and the results you’ve been able to achieve with them!
Yea make a leader board. Overall performance. Then a leader board for each price point.
This would help so much! I really want one, but I don't wanna spend big bucks unless it's actually necessary. Came to yt to see if the Endler 3s pro was any good til i saw it compared to prusa so decided on going with prusa mk3 til I saw the Bambu video then I saw the prusa dupe video and now I'm frozen in indecisiveness lol her videos are amazing there's just sooo many options.
@@MuddyMakers same problem here 😅 did you made a decision?
Great review as always. I realize that you don't want to make any printer look bad, but it still would've been nice to see the 3 s1 also overclocked to run at those speeds since you were comparing them against each other. I don't really understand the design choice for the 5 s1 because the intense vibrations were pretty obvious since the bed lacks any side support. Which means its high speed mode is only useful for the roughest of print jobs.
Hi Aurora, another great video, what more can I say😀👍
I wish that the bed is supported on both sides. Great video as always!
Your voice is aggressively calming.
I just ordered mine to add to my Ender 3 S1. Can't wait to use the sonic pad on the two of them!
Hello! Can you tell me what settings / profile do you use? I have Ender 5 S1 + sonic pad and after 10min of print it clogg... It is brand new i bought yesterday. Thank you!
I can't wait to see what CHEP can do with this ;).
Nice work on video, as always :)
Great video and you made me aware of something I didn't realize. At 18:00 you showed the nozzle size (length) and I didn't realize it was longer than the standard MK8. I recently put on a new nozzle and didn't notice the difference in length and was wondering why I was getting a little leakage. I'm guessing the standard doesn't bottom out as much as the longer nozzle. Thanks for the video!
Another great video, well done. I agree, it should have dual Z steppers but it does look like a huge improvement over the ender 5 Pro.
What's the difference in quality?
Nice new review! And if you are looking for filaments for your projects, feel free to reach out to us :)
We would all love the hookup
I used your filament for the first time on my last project. I ordered some more as soon as it was done. You have a new fan here.
If you buy this printer, get it from, Amazon. Lots of people on forums having issues with Creality using the first buyers as beta testers. I sent this printer back after a day because of bad ringing, non-standard nozzle size, and auto-level not working at all and creating random z-height values every time it self levels. I went with the SV-05 instead. Ender 5 S1 requires klipper if you want good prints out of it.
Holy carp... two filament boxes to support the bed while setting it up? Didn't even cross my mind. LMAO Nice. Glad I saw this before I got my machine. Thanks! ((that first print is like butter. Love the up close view))
Always impressive reviews. Thanks for sharing. I'd like to get away from bedslingers and this looks like a good printer. BUT, I would gladly pay a bit more for an upgraded version with the features you mentioned. So here is my idea, feel free to run with it.
An Aurora Tech branded 3d printer.
1.Create the best "hobby" level printer you can.
2. ???
3. Profit.
Another great video, thanks! The bed on it looks oddly small given how big the frame is.
I think a custom enclosure would be amazing. One like what Teaching Tech did back in the day with his Ender 5 pro.
Your review is excellent 👌
Youre doing great work, thank you for these videos, theyre really helpful.
One question i have for the sonic pad, i saw you can now use multiple printers with fluid? I think? Can we get a tutorial on that
Parabéns , grande trabalho.
excellent video. thank you!
Could you add more details about the sonic pad mount you printed? Specifically, what size screws are required, and where are the mounting points in the 5S1 base that you screwed into? That would be super helpful. [Note: loved the video - it helped convince me to go ahead and buy the same setup.]
Thank you! So excellent. wow
Hi I love your videos and I see myself coming back to see your setup and profiles. I was hoping you can share your profiles with me please. Great video and its been very helpful Thank you
Good Grief my wallet hates this channel, (I love this channel BTW) I'm still playing with my new 5 plus that you recommended, and the sonic pad should be here in the next few days that you also recommended. I'm hoping that Creality has the 5 plus is included on the sonic pad but if not, My E3V2 Sprite Pro upgraded will love it. Good Stuff Aurora, you and your brother are amazing young people. Keep up the excellent work that you do.
thank for a great review never miss one now. can you send me that printer to try lol
thanks for the information!
Love the review as always, but at 500 that's a hard buy without corexy still. Considering most of the "Upgrades" are printable really.
Allot of great info. I'm new to klipper and sonic pad, so I was very happy to find your videos. I was wondering did you install the shaper on ender 5 s1 before you set up the speed tests in cura?
Its great to see a machine where the part cooling has been addressed and it looks like Creality have come up with a good cooling duct, I would love to see a direct comparison between this and the Sovol SV-05 Cubic.
I’ve enjoyed watching quite a few of your videos. I’m looking at the Ender 5 S1 and the Prusa i3 MKS+, do you think the Prusa is still the better option in terms of reliability and print quality? The extra speed is nice but my main preference is for consistent high quality prints.
Aurora you rock!!!
As always, thank you for the review. Creality is pumping out a lot of printers, but it feels like they aren't supporting existing printers very well. I bought an Ender 3 S1 Pro this spring, and despite obvious problems in their firmware, there have been no updates from Creality. The ribbon cable that attaches the sprite is also an issue, as just using the printer breaks it, and the replacement parts have to come all the way from China, meaning a 2-3 week downtime for the printer. Do you have any insight on firmware options or spare parts options for the Ender 3 S1 Pro?
Ho God please give me childs as smart as her... Elite level review, your future will be bright.
Excellent review! I see the bed shaking. Is it an issue or just an impression? It might be the vibration on the camera.
What fast printer would you recommend with a 300×300mm print bed?
I would get the FLSUN V400 but my part has a diameter of 315mm but the printer bed only 300 mm :(
Hey you have great videos! it seems like the bed on this one isnt that rigid at 250mm/s. would be interested in seeing the surface finish with the build platform reinforced with linear rails
Yes outstanding review young lady and team. So much value and logical information. Agree with your remedy to the cons as well. Can you say why the 10S Pro has been left without upgrades for so long. I know feel the Ender 5 is a better design I like my 10s Pro Configuration and height. this Ender 5 with your suggestions would be very hard to ignore but so would the 10S Pro with those similar upgrades. You all take care and thank you so much for your excellent reviews and also sharing your filament experience. Eryone PLA has been great for the money. Dennis
Creality actually released the cr-10 smart pro earlier this year. It came out before the ender 3 s1 pro and was the first printer from creality with the sprite pro extruder
@@freekshow0011 AND that's why I bought it. Plus I got a Black Friday deal of $570 dollars. But I'd love to know if this fan duct on this 5S1 could be put on that Smart Pro printer???
Klipper is really amazing and the sonic pad makes it so much easier to use klipper. I noticed you got some voxel pla+ I would like to know your thoughts on it
Hi Aurora, Would you care to share your slicer settings? do you use Cura or Prusa Slicer? Great set up and review!
If it would have had dual z- leadscrew it would have been verrryy near perfect for me, for this price, hope there Will soon be a pro version.
Also hope corexy would be add
Hello Aurora! I really liked your review of the new printer from Sovol SV05. I just wanted to ask. Will you be reviewing another new Sovol SV06 model? I am very interested in this printer.
A great job with all the details and explanations. And, the filming / editing are done well.
My only issue is the dreaded "CZcams Narrator Speak". The cadence & tone simply repeat over & over. It is nearly robotic. After 10 minutes my wife asked me to turn it down as it was hard to listen to.
Please feel free to speak expressively. If you liked something, go ahead & sound like you liked it. When you are doing your narration over the video please take small breaks so that you might avoid getting into a repetitive cadence.
great .video ,Would you mid sharing your cura printer machine settings ,Thanks
Cooling pressure can be reduced by lowering the extrusion width of the outer wall when slicing
I love my Ender 5 S1, sadly the idler pulley had a misshapen bracket so I cant' really print with it right now but Creality has already helped me get a new part sent out so I can fix the printer once and for all 🥰
Hello! Can you tell me what settings / profile do you use? I have Ender 5 S1 + sonic pad and after 10min of print it clogg... It is brand new i bought yesterday. Thank you!
@@nikolaterziev93 sadly I couldn't really help you with that since I'm not using the Sonic Pad. In the slicer I'm using the default Ender 5 S1 settings with speed turned down a bit and retractions/flow tuned according to the guides available for Cura
very informative
Did any but he use the sensor for this on the sonic pad? If so, what bracket did they use for the hot in or did you just use double-sided sticky tape? Any pictures of set ups would be great!
Great video is it possible to download the cura profiles?
Curious, would you get even more polished prints if the printer is set on a flat hard surface? I feel that the mat gives the printer a bit of wiggle/jerk room. Do you think it'll make a difference?
Thank you for all the information you give, and share on many 3d printers. Recently I bought the Ender 5 S1, and a Sonic Pad. Thanks to you I got it all setup fairly well. One thing I am having trouble with is the slicer profiles, not enough experience I suppose, and my first Klipper machine. Can you share the profiles, either by file or text, for those high speeds you are getting?
I just picked ine up for 150. Plan on converting it to my first core xy and maybe voron type printer if voron has any kits for it yet 😊
Is there a place where you've uploaded those speed profiles? I'm new to all of this and I'm having a rough time setting up cura, as there isn't an ender 5 s1 option.
Where did you get your cfg file for the Sonic Pad to use with the 5-s1? Did you compile it or just use the 5 pro config file that is in the list?
How did you mount the mount for the sonic pad tho? Like what hardware did you use?
I want to buy another 3d printer, but am waiting until these printers come with Klipper. It's almost a no brainer now to use klipper stock
How do you reckon thos compares to the flying bear printer you recently reviewed?
would the fl v400 be a better option as klipper is standard as by the time you add the pad the cost would be similar, is it the same with all 3d printers that petg prints so slow in comparison, I dont know what to get but the stuff I have ideas for are for the food industry and was under the impression that petg was the way to go for indoor and outdoor. One of the days I can see you bring out your ultimate printer that will show the big firms whos boss.
Thank you
One more thing, I posted this on one of your older vids, but not sure if you look at comments on older vids... "In the lastest firmware update for the Sonic Pad, they added several printer profiles, including one for the "CR10 Smart". However they do NOT have the "CR10 Smart PRO" on there that I've seen. As they have different boards in them, I am assuming that this is not a usable profile for the Smart PRO. Why would they add the older, less updated Smart, and leave out the Smart Pro??? Anyway, I'd love for you to do a video of adding the Sonic Pad to the CR10 Smart Pro, and show the results. Also, I'd love to know where you got the 5015 blower for your 5 S1 Pro, as I can't find it anywhere. Thanks for all the well rounded and professionally done vids by you and your brother. I hope to get an answer to these questions, as I have a lot riding on it. Lastly, if you have time, I'd love to see a compare/contrast between the Ender 5 S1 Pro, and the Smart Pro. Thanks. Cheers!"
Hi Aurora, Thanks a lot for your work, your reviews are awesome. I would like to know your thoughts about main big differences between Ender 3 S1 Pro and Ender 5 S1, I mean is it worth switching from 3s1pro to 5s1?. Thanks
@Aurora Tech, is there a way, to get your Cura Profiles for the Ender 5 S1 running the Sonic Pad ?
How did you get the SonicPad configured for the 5S1? It's not a stock option yet :(
Hi Aurora Tech! Your videos are excellent. Regarding this review, can you comment if Creality has listened to your recommendations, listed at the end of your video, such that it would be possible to add those upgrades? Or are they going to release a "Pro" version, including the bundle with the pad? Thank you in advance for your reply.
i would love to see corner braces on every corner, eliminate the wobble.
I sure hopethe add the original Ender 3 and all CR 10 Klipper versions.
I miss the intro! 👍🏻👍🏻
Amazing videos. What age did you start with 3d printing? I have 3d printers and I'm trying to get my daughter interested in it, other than downloading from things. An suggestions?
I bought this printer and the sonic pad. What printer configuration file did you use? I can't find one for the ender 5 s1.
Hello, would you mind sharing the different slicer print profiles? Thank you!
what is your suggestion for people brand new to 3D printing? A normal size and one for super large?
If you could share the profiles you made... That would be fantastic.
Looks good but it looks like that bed shakes a ton when you're printing at faster speeds
Just started testing my 5 s1. Which immediately notice your z homing issue. But I can't seem to find the new firmware update you mentioned. Also my klipper don't have the ender 5 s1 pre configuration yet.
My S1 Pro came with brass nozzles not hardened steel, as mentioned in your #3 con. If creality made this core-xy it would be an outstanding printer
I would agree, kind of. They already have the Ender 6, and they should have made these upgrades to it and release the Ender 6 S1. I have 2 E6's and if it had the Sprite Pro, with the improved cooling ducts, and bed leveling out of the box, it would dominate the mid-range printer market. Plus, it already has an enclosure. I don't understand Creality.
They all come with standard nozzles, you are correct. I'm not sure why Aurora said otherwise.
Do you mind me asking about the profile you used with the Sonic Pad? I got brand new Ender 5 S1 and always get clog after few minutes of print..No matter it is 120mm\s or 60mm/s
What’s your Z Steps set to? I just got my Ender 5 S1 setup and calibrated, but no matter what I do, the bed won’t lower ONLY during printing. Doesn’t matter if I swap filaments, slicer, etc. my Z steps are at 400. Will manually lower outside of printing just fine. Same behavior if I switch to OctoPrint.
You need to increase the hot end temperature when printing at very high speeds.
Recommendation for absolute beginner ? From ender line ?
Would it be possible to link your whole cura settings for this printer? I've tried doing what I see and it doesn't look anything like yours
I wanted to know did you have to increase your hotend and bed temperature to print with ABS, Carbon Fiber, or Nylon without a heat box?
Can you post your cura profiles for the sonic pad please?
Bought it after several years with XYZ pro and it is very impressive, XYZ software was poorly supported and Cura allows much better tuning of prints
Sadly I tried this yesterday with a new sonic pad and 5 s1 and failed to complete the final step of automatic bed levelling. The first point tested, the front extreme left places the nozzle so close to the corner that the cr touch sensory in no longer above the bed. As this is the case it will never touch the bed and stop the bed rising. This places a dent in the bed and stops the calibration with a dreadful crunch. Back on the supplied firmware.
Great review as always. Can you share the cura profiles please and the start and end g-code. Thanks
I got my Ender 5S1 today, and the test prints are ok to good, but not as good as yours.
can you share the set up profile of printer and prints pls, beacuse i have multiplr issue wiht the same printer, some 3d models the g cose run properly and some not and i don't now why. thanks a lot
Please tell me about the actual size of the "PC coated spring steel plate", my ender-5 s1 is still in transit and I want to buy a piece of pei steel plate.
I recently got the Ender 5 S1 and I can’t seem to get the prints to stick no matter how much leveling I do
Is the secret replacing the bed or using some kind of adhesive
Also I noticed that your benchy print had a perfect first layer
My first layers are not uniform just a bunch of lines
