UPDATE: 10/15/19 It has come to my attention that the PX7 does suffer from sound degradation when the ANC is activated on max. It’s still not as bad as the sound quality hit the PX faces when max ANC is engaged but it’s still a problem nonetheless. Compared to ANC turned off, the sound signature of the PX7 gets a bit warmer sounding and closed in. I can deal with that a bit. However, the big issue I have is at higher volumes there is some sort of dynamic range or volume limiter in effect that hurts some of the fidelity in the music. It happens at all volumes, but it’s more apparent at higher volumes. For example, when I’m listening at a volume level where I want to feel immersed into the music and rock out, the volume on certain frequencies in the music raises and lowers as to not distort the speaker. When I turn off the ANC, this phenomenon doesn’t occur which leads me to believe B&W implemented this to purposely restrain your music from distorting the speaker whilst ANC is active. This doesn’t happen with my Sony WH1000XM3 or Sennheiser Momentum 3 Wireless when they both have their ANC on max. In terms of sound, the PX7 is now behind both the Momentum’s and Sony’s for me now as a result of this.
I had a listen to the px7 today and I say that the momentum 3 is farrr better when equed just right. Hell, it surpassed my 58x jubilee to shame (if that is even possible). I think the SQ of the px7 is pretty good but not great (bass is kinda boxy and also they are not as clear as I like and treble is a bit too much rolled off). I would give it about a 7.5 out of 10 in Sq. As far as the momentum 3, I'll just deal with the mediocre ANC and bulky look. I found nothing that sounds better than them.
The momentum’s sound great definitely but when outdoors the mediocre ANC ruins it for me when I can hear what’s going on outside alongside my music. Plus their mediocre battery life and inability to charge from a USBC to USBC cable is a major dealbreaker. The Sony’s are still my top pick overall as they sound the best to my ears when commuting thanks to that stunning ANC and superb comfort.
@@TheGamingAudiophile What do you mean not being able to charge from a USB-C to USB-C cable? I used the included USB-C together with Apples Fast-Charger (USB-C) and it worked perfectly fine. My Macbook can charge the headset too directly from an USB-C port. But I've found that it's only the included cable that works, all my other USB-C cables doesn't charge it.
I read in the user manual these can't be used without turning them on and with battery charged, I wonder if they can be used with external headphone amps and dacs or they're just limited to the built in stuff.
I really cannot understand how anybody can say that the sound quality of the Wilkinson is better than the Momentum. I ordered them both and did some A B checking with friends and this is really unanimous, everybody says the sound of the Momentum is so much better, not a little but way better. There is so much more detail and depth in the Momentum, this so called ‘soundstage’ is so much bigger on the Momentum’s. And ooff man the bass on the Momentum’s is rock solid and deep. Sorry had to say it.
Hugo K There are a few things the PX does better but they are few, I agree overall the M3 is superior. But people who like grunge/classic rock may appreciate the raw feeling of the px, momentums have a signature sound theres no escaping it, and that can distort things a little. Overall though the M3s are in another class, no doubt
@@benluu8323 well, in my opinion they are more natural, easy on the sound, there is not to much processing, and the soundstage is what makes them amazing.. it gives you feeling of an 'open studio' where sound 'flows'.. i have tested both on hi-end amplifier, and many different dacs.. i am not saying the momentums are bad, quite opposed they are fantastic really, but i simply prefer px7's... you can't go wrong with any of this 2
Would you happen to know if the M3 is good for listening for footsteps in fps games (positional audio)? I’ve heard the Sony XM3 isn’t great for that, specifically.
The Bowers and Wilkins PX7 that I've been using for over a month now sound noticeably inferior to the sennheiser momentum 3 that I have since January 2020. The thing that jumps out the most is the sibilance on the PX7. The "S" and "T" sounds can get really shrill in certain genres like EDM and pop. What bugs me most is that the sibilance doesn't go away at lower volumes. Also the mids are suppressed. The vocals can sound pushed behind the rest of the instruments in certain songs when compared to the Momentums. I don't understand what logic B&W used while tuning these headphones but they suffer in the sound quality dept precisely because of their harshness even though the sound-stage is quite impressive. The bass, I agree, is decent but it leans more towards the audible spectrum rather than physical. This is clear when listening to the Sennheiser momentum and px7 side by side. The bass on the Momentum 3 is incredible. It is precise and visceral and can also be woolly as you described in your review, which is not always a bad thing. I admit I'm a bass fan but I do appreciate a balanced audio output. The Sennheisers win the duel for me with their impressive dynamism, silky smooth sound that is not at all sibilant and authentic bass reproduction.
@@TheJKiller95 I’m no audiophile, but I seem to feel the same about that sibilance of the PX7. I’ve tried them the other day and then compared them to the XM4. The latter sound just flat to me in terms of bass and overall detail, so I rejected them almost the next moment I put them on. As for the PX7, electronic music sounds kind of immersive (in a good sense) and wraparound, whereas rock music is mostly messy, with vocals stuck somewhere and not reaching your ear the way you’d want it to. Plus, that sibilance. It’s not much of a dealbreaker, but it’s omnipresent. All in all, they sound fun and enjoyable, but I’m waiting for the Momentum 3 to come to my local store and I hope to compare them to the PX7.
Do you by any chance know how the Sennheisers m3 compare to the Meze 99 classics/Nior or the AKG K371? Also between the M3 and PX7 which would you say sound better with PIANO specifically? I need a piano practicing headphone, i might as well get a bluetooth pair for more usability when on the go.. any recommendations? I've also heard of the Shures Aonic 50 but idk much about them.
How are the Momentum 3 vs the momentum 2. Was debating whether to get the Sony XM3s over the Momentum 3 then I noticed the M2s are $200 now. If there isn’t much difference in sound I think I’d go with the older model...thanks
I looking for a pair of new headphones and was thinking about either the px7 or the xm3. I will be using them mostly indoors so i will focus more on sound quality than Anc, so which of these 2 is the better in sound without Anc?
Thanks for your detailed review. Defiantly helped me decide to that sennheiser is still my fave headphone 2019. Ordered the px7 and think they will be going right back to the store without opening them. Unfortunately best does let you return opened headphones here in Toronto.
Thanks for the great comparison review! According to the manual of the PX7, they won't work passively, meaning you have to turn them on even if you're using the cable. A bit ridiculous because the idea of a cable is to be able to use the headphones without relying on the battery (or if you also want to scale up the sound with a good external amp/DAC). Do you know if this also applies to the Momentum 3s? All the best!
I own the original P7 Wireless and they work perfectly in passive mode. So, imo B&W are going backwards on that regard with the PX7. I was about to pre-order them because I love the sound of my P7 and I was eager to listen the new sound signature, but if the cans are going to die once the battery life is over I'm not sure anymore. Btw, do someone know the longevity of a battery on wireless cans?
Your answers are so great and helpful. I need to ask one more because you answered for classic music. Which do you like better for Hip Hop styles of music? I dont need the Bass to punish my ears but definitly want the punch of the bass
My P7 was fantastic, Music and sound was clear,I could move my head in any direction up or down no distortions ,even when iwas dancing with them on. If the PX7 is better i will upgrade Thank You for such a through detail
Great review. You covered everything important very well. I'll look into getting the px7. Have you heard the sennheiser hd58x jubilee or the Phillips fidelio x2? I have both and they are phenomenal at their price point.
Good afternoon Gamingaudiophile and happy holidays to you and your family how do you feel about the momentum 3 just on sound quality alone forget about battery and NC since the B&w has that volume issue?
Joseph Davenport The sound quality alone is excellent. Slight bass boost with an overall neutral sound signature. Bass is tight and doesn’t overpower the rest of the mix. Soundstage is good and provides amble room for instruments to breathe.
I'm years into headphones, but 70 percent of my listening is with speakers and my main amp system . Watching zeos reviews, i realized i never considered changing ear pads. Real sheepskin leather pads are in my future. Need some serious research to pick some choices. My momentum m3's are arriving tommorrow
Had to ask a second question, I have the EQ on my Sony WH-1000xM3’s cranked up to max everything. So at that max everything, which headphone would you say is louder between the PX7, and the XM3s?
Man, I love you :) I have Momentum 3 at home and I can send them back by the end of the month, but I also ordered the PX7. What do you think is more suitable for classical music?
Krzysztof W Both will exhibit a ton of detail and clarity. However the PX7’s more broad soundstage and more neutral overall sound will fare a bit better in classical.
Great review! I've been listening to 8 headphones to find my next pair and liked the Momentum and PX5 the most. I decided I'm going to wait for the PX7 to hit the store before making the final decision, so this video was very helpful. Is it possible to replace the earpads on both headphones?
In case this wasn't covered. M3 - AptX and AptX LL (Low Latency). No AptX HD support. PX7 - AptX Adaptive. This is backward compatible with AptX and AptX HD. Not with AptX LL. Qualcom are ending support for AptX LL. However, there are no AptX Adaptive dongles available yet, and only a very few phones support it, think around 2! So currently you can't use the PX7 with a low latency connection - which can mean lip synch issues when consuming media, or out of synch gaming etc. Battery life is obviously double or more for the PX7 M3 use real leather, which I think people say sweats less? Should last longer too and be restorable to an extent. My question - what is the eacup size? I have long ears (around 7cm x 3cm, 2.76" x 1.18"), and can't wear the old Sennheiser Momentum, PXC, or Sony either I believe. The Bose QC35 do fit. I currently use the Definitive Technology Symphony 1 which are an older pair but have a similar feature set to these. The inner measurement from pad to pad, inside, is around 6.8cm (2.68") x almost 5cm (almost 2 inches). They're big earcups and fit my ears well. Despite giving a larger ear length measurement, my ears fit without touching the pads, likely from my ears being at an angle - although my earlobes can a bit. I wish that reviewers got a ruler out. Helps those with medium or large ears, as unless you have small ears and don't want to wear them for extended periods, you can rule out loads of pairs. Sony's just don't fit me.
Do any of these do audio via USB cable? The momentum 2 sounds pretty awesome via USB as well as keeping your can battery top up. I know definitely a feature few look out for.
Tulani Mhlanga I too would like to know how they compare with the p7 wireless as they are my favourite headphones and in my opinion offered a better sound experience than the px that were a bit too neutral for me
ShinShinoke I had the px7 for a couple of weeks a few months back and to my ears at least they sound very different than the p7w and if you really like the p7w like myself I doubt you will be blown away with the new ones. I returned mine a got another pair of the p7 wireless and now I'm happy
No point for me. I have purchased and tried many sub £500 headphones and nothing touches my p7w for sound, or at least my kind of sound. I got the 2nd pair because my others are 3 years old and I would be devastated for them to die and have no like for like replacement. The new senn mom wireless are the closest sounding I have heard to my p7w but the b&w shade it. The p7x were just not dynamic enough for me, I was really disappointed but of course it's all subjective
One thing that is not clear to me, Can they both charge while still being on, and playing music over bluetooth? I have other Sennheiser BTNC headphones, and they auto switch off as soon as you start charging, which is very annoying.
Update: I just listened to the momentum 3 wireless. Out the box they had too much bass (mid bass) and muddied the sound up just a little. When I adjusted the EQ by moving the slider slightly down and to the right (reducing the bass frequency) the sound became phenomenal. The best closed backs I ever heard. Very detailed and clean with a good soundstage and separation and still with a very strong tight punchy bass (probably not as tight as the px7 though). There were two things I didn’t quite like though. 1) The look of them on my head. Too bulky and not sleek enough. Sometimes I talk to girls in the street lol. 2) The app for the iPhone didn’t connect the headphones. I had to first connect them to my galaxy phone and change the EQ and then pair them to the iPhone without using the app. Sennheiser needs to fix the app for the iPhone, otherwise it’s no way to change the sound. Can’t wait to try the px7 when it’s released as well as the Sony hear.on 3 and the sennheiser pxc 550 ii.
h1a8 Glad you enjoy them. I don’t care how headphones look on my head lol. I’m married with a kid on the way and past that phase of trying to impress women. And I agree the Sennheiser app needs to be more refined.
@Ezugo Obuekwe I thought the original pxc 550 was great with a few faults. 1. Not loud enough 2. Ear cups too shallow. My ears were resting on the drivers and it hurt after awhile. 3. Needed a little more bass presence (while keeping the tightness and clarity).
PXC and momentum are separate series. PXC550Ⅱ has an assistant function that was not in the previous work, but the sound grade is not changed, so it is not attractive. That's why I think it was cheaper.
Thanks for the great overview. Can I ask how the PX7 compares to the B&O H9i? My H9i’s went for a swim last weekend so I was debating whether to buy another pair or give these a try. I’m mainly after sound quality with good ANC a bonus. Thanks!!
The PX7 is a much better option in my opinion. The sound is more balanced and broader in its soundstage. The battery life is longer. The case is better. The ANC is better. The feature set is better. And it’s cheaper. I personally think the PX7 is the new king of ANC headphones over the Sony XM3s. I’ll be making a comparison review between those two soon.
@@MichaelM28 I take a ferry in to work everyday. I had my headphones on, looking over the rail and down into the water when they just slipped off. I watched them plop down into the sea- never to be seen again :(
Out all these headphones i can say majority of headphones , Bowers n wilkinson are the only company that has true high end to mid price floor standing and bookshelf speakers , so who would know speakers better than B&W Maybe Beo play,or byerdynamic but B&W speakers are better..
Love the comparison as always! So, I know you said you prefer the PX7 to the M3s. I currently own the M3s, and today is the last day I can return them for a refund. My question is, would you return the M3s for the PX7? Is it that much better for you?
mjohnsonjr23 I would return the M3. The PX7 sounds better in my opinion and blocks out more noise with its ANC. It has a much longer battery life and better carrying case thats hard shell and smaller in size compared to the M3’s case. The app is more refined than the M3’s allowing you to control what Bluetooth devices are connected as well as the ability to rename the headphone. The pros the M3’s have over the PX7 is an EQ and slightly better mics for calls and voice assistant usage.
im trying my best to recommend wireless anc headphones to a good friend. i have had the sony WH 1000x M2's and now i have the M3's. its difficult to not recommend them because they have treated me so well with tidal masters and their diverse feature set. how would you say these px7's compare in terms of overall clairty and NC ability? also, which would you recommend for the price? thanks so much in advance, love the channel.
I had bose HP 700 but the sound quality was absolute garbage (their focus is on Noise cancellation), then i got the Sennheiser momentum 3 and its awesome. Also, and really important, the BIG difference between bose and sennheiser is this: Changes using the equalizer on bose, only work on the device where you changed it. Changes using the equalizer on sennheiser are saved on the headset, so your preference will be effective on any device (huge advantage for me).
Just putting this here but the B&W PX7 do not have a wider sound stage than the Momentum 3s in-fact they dont even come close so dont be misinformed ive read tons off reviews to confirm this as well.
@@TheGamingAudiophile ok that is unfortunate. How big is the difference? I like to hear music quite loud sometimes and not every headphone gets loud enough for me
TheGamingAudiophile I don’t understand how the sennheiser can be louder as they are 100 ohm compared to 20 of px7. Also the last momentum’s were low in volume compared to B&W px and p7w. I too like a loud volume.
i have tested the 2 headphones against each other now. The PX7 has ZERO midrange in comparison. It creates this "open space" by omitting the mids. it feels airy but for me it simply lacks substance and warmth / presence in voices. I would strongly recommend the Sennheiser. The Bass is also much!! more impactful. It slaps your ears without losing control. Much more rumble and tactileness if you are into that. But the Senns still sound wide and have excellent midrange. The are also more comfy for longer listening. In my eyes the only thing the PX7 do better is battery. //EDIT after a few more listening sessions: Same conlusion with the addition that the cups of the PX7 are just not comfortable and the headband hurts on top of my crown. Also worth mentioning is that the Momentum get louder than the PX7, which to a degree explains the battery life difference.
Freddy Licious thanks for your comparison review. I returned the px7 because the sound was not full enough for me and the volume compared to my old p7 wireless not loud enough. I mainly listen to rock, classic rock and 80s and 90s soul/rnb, do you think I’ll like the Senns? I don’t mind bass but don’t need too much for the classic rock and I did once try the 2.0’s but they were way too low in volume. I really do like a loud headphone to immerse me in my music, thanks
Hey Natasha, the Momentum 3, or ZENheiser as i call them ;) get very loud and they have a lot of bass, but it never got muddy for me. it reminded me a bit of the T5p Gen2. you can also EQ them with their app. think you cant go wrong. midrange is superb.
Freddy Licious, your right got them the other day and they are very nice and certainly a lot better than the disappointing px7. They actually have a similar sound signature to my old p7 wireless that are my favourite headphones, perhaps not quite as good but close and far more comfortable. You are correct the volumes fine in fact my only real nit-pick is the sound leakage but as I will wear them daily in a noisy working environment that’s not a problem. Thanks dude
Nice video, great comparison! I don't know, if you have any experience with the Bose QuietComfort 35's, but if you do, I'd like to ask you a few things. I've been using the Bose QC 35 (Series 1) for about 4 years now and lately been thinking of upgrading. I mainly want to upgrade for a better sound, but I would also like to be able to charge the battery while listening to music on my computer. Both of the PX7 and M3's have that ability and according to your comparison they also sound great. At the moment I'm more eager to get the PX7 because of the longer battery life. Also I don't really like the fact that you can't turn the M3's off without folding them. Plus I've tried the M3's on and they look pretty terrible on my small head since the metal parts slide so much below the ear cups. So I'm wondering, do you think it's worth upgrading the Bose QC35's to the PX7 based on sound? I do think the sound on QC35's is okay but I wouldn't mind a better sound stage. I usually have the ANC turned on, but with the setting on "Low". You mentioned that the sound quality takes a big hit on the PX7 with the ANC on max and if you turn the volume up. Would say the worsening of the sound quality on the PX7 is as bad, if you don't have the ANC on max? So far I haven't been able to test the sound quality on either the PX7 or M3's (the M3's had a dead battery in the store that I tried them on, lol).
Hey! :) I dont know, what will buy.. I can have B&W PX for 200 euro and or wait for B&W PX7 for 400 euro, or Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 3 for 400. Thanks.
Radim Sedlacek The PX still sounds awesome but the comfort is a deal breaker for me. The M3 is also awesome sounding but with a mediocre ANC performance, mediocre battery life and a mediocre carrying case. The PX7 is the least compromising headphone of the 3.
Sound is always very subjective. Its best that you always compare to another headset. He did mention more here than he would if he would do a standalone review. So i really dont know why you ask this NO OFFENCE
@@TheGamingAudiophile Will the PX7 work Efficiently With My Android Phone because in the past the P7 Wireless functions did not work with my Android phone at the time because it was for ios devices Only.
Ben Newman The nurpahones tonality is more to my liking due to the way it compensates for your specific hearing. However the PX7 has a tighter bass and broader soundstage.
@@TheGamingAudiophile And how do they compare to the sennheisers? I need slight exaggeration in the low end when i listen to music. (The nuras give me plenty)
Ben Newman The Momentum’s sounds more bass boosted than the Nuraphones unless you crank the immersion slider to the Max. I prefer the tonal balance in the mids of the Sennheiser’s over the Nuraphones.
@@TheGamingAudiophile Bought the sennheiser's to try them, and they sound trash? The sound becomes harsh at higher volumes, i think there is a boost in the upper mids which is makes it uncomfortable to listen to at times. It sounds 'boxy' and narrow, like the music is coming at you from the front. The nuras really do drown you in a pool of sound, the instrument separation/soundstage is just fantastic and is so easy on the ears even at very high volumes. I think the nuras have ruined normal headphones for me.
I need help in choosing between the PX7s, B&O H9 3rd Gen and the Master and Dynamic MW65. I currently own a 1st gen H9 but I'm looking for an upgrade..
@@TheGamingAudiophile Thanks! The H9 3rd Gen didn't really change much from the H9i right? In terms of sound quality? And how was your experience with the MW65? One thing I like about the M&Ws is the design.
VacheronTheGamer 99RS The changes with the 3rd gen is more battery and a dedicated voice assistant button. The MW65 sounds great. Dynamic and lively. Bass was punchy and relatively tight, but rolled off on the subbass a bit too much for me. The treble also rolled off a bit too much up top which hurt the sense of space.
@@TheGamingAudiophile Thank you so much for the replies! Now I can finally look for the right headphones for me! Considering that there is only 2 stocks left for the PX7s. Might as well go for B&Ws.
@@TheGamingAudiophile I am considering the B&O H9 3rd gen too and PX7, you prefer the sound of the PX7 you mean? Or overall package like comfort, price , battery etc?
TheGamingAudiophile Why would you use an iPhone over Android if you're an audiophile? You only get crappy AAC with iPhone while you get APTX-HD and LDAC on Android
Thanks i was waiting for this direct comparaison man :). I think you forgot 1 thing. Is there an equalizer for the PX7 as well ? One important sidenote. The XM3 drops down to SBC when using equalizer. The sennheiser does NOT. What about the PX7 ?
Happy holidays Gamingaudiophile man I tell you it's a tough choice between the b&w px7 vs Sennheisermomentum3 the m3 gets a little louder but I've never listen to headphones at high volume anyway and they both sound great but the b&w have much better anc plus almost double the battery it's rough out here lol
Joseph Davenport The PX7 sounds a bit more spacious than the momentum’s. But the Momentum’s has a more robust and fuller bass that doesn’t bottom out when pushed like the PX7 at times. Personally, I’d go with the momentum’s 3.
@@TheGamingAudiophile I'm assuming that b&w will send an update to resolve that distortion and volume limiting and also I really like that you get a hard case,30hours of battery and good ANC at least that's what I heard!
UPDATE: 23.10.2019 I got my PX7 today and I have Momentum 3 at home. After a few hours I can say that I like the build quality of the M3 more, the materials, leather and metal used. Sound quality is more complicated, because both of them sound great, but I personally like M3 sound much more. Bass that can make your cheeks vibrate, vocals that are more forward and a brighter sound. Certainly the Px7 are more neutral, but the sound itself is more like warm or sometimes muffled. Don't get me wrong, I really want to like PX7, I prefer a much harder case and better battery time and compact size, but for now I have mixed feelings. I made my decision and PX7 stay with me, they are currently the best BT with ANC headsets on the market. I have M3 for about 3 weeks, PX7 a few days and I have probably got used to their sound. It is still much warmer than the M3, but listening to music on them, you can hear more, you can get more details which is probably the advantage of a much wider sound stage. In appearance, I think I like the M3 more, real leather is a huge plus for me, but the PX7 have better ANC, a much longer battery life, have a better pouch and are much more compact.
@@alexsmith1207 No. My post above is out of date. Finally, I sent back the PX7 and M3. I ordered Dali IO6 which are the best sounding headphones I've ever heard

Why does everyone like the m3 so much? I thought it sounded awful. Then again, i never really liked the sound of the m2 but the m3 sounds much worse still to me
@@TheGamingAudiophile Huh, when I heard it when I went to audition a beoplay H6, and got to try the m3 for fun, it had sibilant highs with slight distortion, but i wouldn't call them clear or call it a high-focused headphone. I didn't really get to form an opinion on the rest of the sound signature, as this combined with what, to me, felt like a very cramped sound stage was enough to deter me from really listening to it. I do like a somewhat neutral signature though. Currently enjoying HP50's with a pair of pads that makes the highs more present.
@@jayjaygolden5123 Interesting. That's what is fun about this hobby. So many different options to cater to all of us. I wouldn't call the M3's sibilant or having a slight distortion to their sound. But to each their own.
UPDATE: 10/15/19
It has come to my attention that the PX7 does suffer from sound degradation when the ANC is activated on max.
The Sony’s are still my top pick overall as they sound the best to my ears when commuting thanks to that stunning ANC and superb comfort.

great review, love the level of details.
Love the sound on my momentum 3's, incredible sound stage
не сломались наушники? я такие же заказал
Any plans on reviewing the Dali IO-6?
I agree with you. I even prefer Momentum 3 over New Airpods Max. Thats is real crap full of treble that cause your eardrums sore
Well i know people whk said completely opposite, and i prefer px7 sound over momentums
@@nino_kO1 I dont have the momentums, but the Px7....why would you say Px7 are better? I want your opinion
How did you get the PX7 so early?
Hi, Good review
Is it possible to do a review comp. between B&W PX7 and Dali IO6?
Thank you
This!
What closed back wireless headphones would you say have the best soundstage? I've read good things about the PX7 and the Dali IO6.
Have you ever tried sony xm3 or 4? Sif yes, how do you think they'd compare?
I’ve owned both too but I prefer the PX7. Less coloured, better control of the bass….M3 are still fab though
Which model is your, carbon edition or the OG? I was told the former one has a more neutral curve after update 1.2
Its a jazz and classical headset
Wow thanks for the upload !!
This review was very nicely done! After it I'm sure, I have to get the PX7 ASAP ^^
Amazing comparison review!
Great informative video, thanks man!
I'm late to this review but I'll say it anyway. Great in depth review. Fantastic job.
What does the Px7 Bluetooth aptx adaptive help with?
Edit: does Px7 have issues in cold?
Hi, Stephen! How did you like the px7 compared to the Momentum 3?
Thanks for the great comparison review! According to the manual of the PX7, they won't work passively, meaning you have to turn them on even if you're using the cable. A bit ridiculous because the idea of a cable is to be able to use the headphones without relying on the battery (or if you also want to scale up the sound with a good external amp/DAC). Do you know if this also applies to the Momentum 3s? All the best!
Andres Rodriguez The M3’s I believe works passively.
Btw, do someone know the longevity of a battery on wireless cans?
audiofreak Battery longevity is probably 3-4 years before you need to replace them.
Momentum 3 can also listen to music over a wired connection.
You can also listen to music while charging with a USB-C cable.
Your answers are so great and helpful. I need to ask one more because you answered for classic music. Which do you like better for Hip Hop styles of music? I dont need the Bass to punish my ears but definitly want the punch of the bass
Vendetta xRiich I would go with the PX7 because of the visceral attack of the bass due to superior control over the momentum’s.
Does the sound quality differ at all from Px to the new PX7 or is it pretty much the same?
My P7 was fantastic, Music and sound was clear,I could move my head in any direction up or down no distortions ,even when iwas dancing with them on. If the PX7 is better i will upgrade Thank You for such a through detail
Great review !
Thanks, I ordered the PX7 as I was listening to you
hey man can you do a review of just the momentum wireless m3 by themselves?
Dude, ur review is fantastic 🔥
Great review. You covered everything important very well. I'll look into getting the px7.
Have you heard the sennheiser hd58x jubilee or the Phillips fidelio x2? I have both and they are phenomenal at their price point.
Yes, I reviewed the X2 a while back.
I hate how the sound quality diminishes when ANC is on using the b&w
I'm years into headphones, but 70 percent of my listening is with speakers and my main amp system . Watching zeos reviews, i realized i never considered changing ear pads. Real sheepskin leather pads are in my future. Need some serious research to pick some choices. My momentum m3's are arriving tommorrow

Had to ask a second question, I have the EQ on my Sony WH-1000xM3’s cranked up to max everything. So at that max everything, which headphone would you say is louder between the PX7, and the XM3s?
Halil Ergonenc The XM3 Is louder.
First PX7 video review..👍
Man, I love you :)
I have Momentum 3 at home and I can send them back by the end of the month, but I also ordered the PX7.
Christian Thon Yes you can replace the ear pads on both.
@@TheGamingAudiophile so what ear pads for the momentum m3. I want to splurge, since I've never replaced pads. What brand sheepskin, from where?
In case this wasn't covered.
M3 - AptX and AptX LL (Low Latency). No AptX HD support.
PX7 - AptX Adaptive. This is backward compatible with AptX and AptX HD. Not with AptX LL.
Qualcom are ending support for AptX LL. However, there are no AptX Adaptive dongles available yet, and only a very few phones support it, think around 2!
So currently you can't use the PX7 with a low latency connection - which can mean lip synch issues when consuming media, or out of synch gaming etc.
Battery life is obviously double or more for the PX7
M3 use real leather, which I think people say sweats less?
Nice review. Thanks a lot. 🍀🖖🏽🙃
I have the Px7 but havent tried the M3...are momentums better (sound quality only)..
FINALLY THANK YOU
Do any of these do audio via USB cable? The momentum 2 sounds pretty awesome via USB as well as keeping your can battery top up. I know definitely a feature few look out for.
Danny Ooi They both do.
@@TheGamingAudiophile thank you for your reply!
i highly rate the sound of the bowers and wilkins P7 wireless headphones....and i wish you could compare it with the PX7
Tulani Mhlanga I too would like to know how they compare with the p7 wireless as they are my favourite headphones and in my opinion offered a better sound experience than the px that were a bit too neutral for me
@@natashakirkham4476 The PX7 sound much more like the P7w than the PX apparently. So recessed mids etc, which some don't like.
ShinShinoke I had the px7 for a couple of weeks a few months back and to my ears at least they sound very different than the p7w and if you really like the p7w like myself I doubt you will be blown away with the new ones. I returned mine a got another pair of the p7 wireless and now I'm happy
Natasha Kirkham meaning that you now have 2 of the same kind? Couldn’t you have got something different like the SONY XM4 or BOSE700
How do these compared to the B&O H9i? Sound wise.
One thing that is not clear to me, Can they both charge while still being on, and playing music over bluetooth? I have other Sennheiser BTNC headphones, and they auto switch off as soon as you start charging, which is very annoying.
Gerrie Pretorius Yes, they both can charge and still use their Bluetooth functionality.
@Ezugo Obuekwe
I thought the original pxc 550 was great with a few faults.
1. Not loud enough
What kind of swim did they go for?
@@MichaelM28 I take a ferry in to work everyday. I had my headphones on, looking over the rail and down into the water when they just slipped off. I watched them plop down into the sea- never to be seen again :(
Why won't the PX7 work with oneplus? Apparently it's a major problem
both are fantastic headphones
Out all these headphones i can say majority of headphones , Bowers n wilkinson are the only company that has true high end to mid price floor standing and bookshelf speakers , so who would know speakers better than B&W
Maybe Beo play,or byerdynamic but B&W speakers are better..

Are the ear pads on the px7 magnetic like they were on the px?
Poetik LGF No.
For some reason I keep coming back to the Sony hear.on 2. Have you heard them?
They have the best sound quality out of all Sony anc headphones.
h1a8 Yes, they’re well balanced. I prefer the WH1000xm3’s punch and warmth tho.
What are the best sounding pair of wirless headphones?
Sennheiser
in the affordable range, the 2 in this vid and the Dali io6
im trying my best to recommend wireless anc headphones to a good friend. i have had the sony WH 1000x M2's and now i have the M3's. its difficult to not recommend them because they have treated me so well with tidal masters and their diverse feature set. how would you say these px7's compare in terms of overall clairty and NC ability? also, which would you recommend for the price? thanks so much in advance, love the channel.

Craig Olsen Most likely by end of the day.
@@TheGamingAudiophile you are a champ. Keep up the awesome work.
There is no pause button. I use the Alexa button for pausing then have to turn off the Bluetooth on & off again which sucks
I had bose HP 700 but the sound quality was absolute garbage (their focus is on Noise cancellation), then i got the Sennheiser momentum 3 and its awesome.
Also, and really important, the BIG difference between bose and sennheiser is this:
Changes using the equalizer on bose, only work on the device where you changed it.
How is the volume on the B&W? Do they get loud or are the Sennheiser louder?
Vendetta xRiich The Sennheiser’s are louder. The PX7 however gets quite loud. Both don’t distort at Max volumes.
@@TheGamingAudiophile ok that is unfortunate. How big is the difference? I like to hear music quite loud sometimes and not every headphone gets loud enough for me
@@letslachflash Not a big one. The PX7 gets ear piercingly loud for me.
TheGamingAudiophile I don’t understand how the sennheiser can be louder as they are 100 ohm compared to 20 of px7. Also the last momentum’s were low in volume compared to B&W px and p7w. I too like a loud volume.
Natasha Kirkham Their internal amp must be very powerful in this new iteration.
How's the NC compared to the WXM3's?
Hery Ruiz It’s very, very close. About on par with the Bose NC 700.
i have tested the 2 headphones against each other now.
Freddy Licious I agree.
Thanks dude
nice! i think they are really great headphones. my only complaint is that i have to wait for the white version ;)
Hauahahahaha
Hello, I have p7 or should I change to PX7, what is better? best regards
I keep reading that the older P7 has a superior sound quality, and wish they were still available.
TheGamingAudiophile how does the M3 compare with the P7 wireless?

How would you compare to the nuraphone purely on the basis of sound quality?
Ben Newman It’s the tonal balance of the Nuraphones that’s quite excellent due to the way it adapts to your hearing.

@@jiyahbj Have they updated them to fix that yet?
#GoodReview
Sorry, need to add I hate pleather, even though I love the PX7 overall.
How are the size of the ear cups on the PX7?
Pretty good spacing. My ears fit all the way in.
@@TheGamingAudiophile Are they bigger or smaller than the Sennheiser momentum 3
@@craigolsen1916 Slightly smaller.
@@TheGamingAudiophile thanks for the information.
UPDATE: 23.10.2019
I got my PX7 today and I have Momentum 3 at home.
Are you sure someone said px7 lacks details than Sennheiser's that's what i got worried
@@alexsmith1207 No. My post above is out of date. Finally, I sent back the PX7 and M3. I ordered Dali IO6 which are the best sounding headphones I've ever heard
@@kris2694 Wow yeah it's totally out of date ;D
@@kris2694 hows your dali io6? Im getting one io4 non anc for the holidays thanks to you lol i chose these for the higher codecs, longer battery and of course i did research on these. Does the sound still blow out water? By the way have you watched movies with it too?
@@alexsmith1207 Excellently:)
They stayed with me.
I also changed the phone from Galaxy s10 + to OnePlus 7T pro and they play a little quieter, but definitely better. OP7T pro has the AptxHd codec and s10 + unfortunately not. I'm delighted.
Unfortunately, I didn't watch movies on them, I only listen to music.
why are there so many commercials in YT now? i noticed it 2019 ... it's so ughh.. 🥴
Install addblock plus into your browser. It gets rid of all the video adds/commercials, and the annoying pop up adds on the side and top of the webpage as well.
Why is the band on the PX7 covered in so many marks?
Michael McGrath I didn’t notice any marks.
TheGamingAudiophile the metal band is covered in several marks
@@MichaelM28 Ok, I see what you're talking about. That's the design of the carbon fiber. It looks that way on B&W's site as well.
There are "marks" because the side bands are made from forged carbon fiber, not metal.
Brendan Finn looks hideous
Just checked the Momentum should be sheepskin leather , isn’t it ?
Sarky Ho Yes it is
TheGamingAudiophile does it has a wider soundstage and better sound than the Sony?
Sarky Ho I have a comparison review of those two on my channel. Check it out.
Are the ear cups on the PX7 magnetic?
Michael McGrath The ear cups seem to not be removable unfortunately.
TheGamingAudiophile unbelievable. the original px had removable ear cups
What would be the point of removing the cups?
Reggie Vdz to clean or replace them
@@ReggieVdz if the earpads break, you dont need a new headphone of 400 eur.... please think a little bit longer..

Sennheiser Momentum 2.0 or 3.0?
iliketoread Iliketothink17 The 3.0 improves in feature set and in my opinion sound quality, overall volume and ANC. I’d go with the 3.0.
I don't like the look of the sennheiser and the sennheiser are 350€ and the px7's only 250€ in my country. So I'm going for the b&w
Those wires sticking out is scary ...if anything were to happen to it ...the headphone is pretty much useless
momentum is lighter than px7
Why does everyone like the m3 so much? I thought it sounded awful.
Then again, i never really liked the sound of the m2
but the m3 sounds much worse still to me
JayJay Golden The M3 has a tuning suitable for modern music or people who like a warm sound. Perhaps you prefer a more neutral sound?
@@TheGamingAudiophile I'm not sure if distortion is the right word..But whenever symbals or high pitched s'es came along it'd like..vibrate?
@@jayjaygolden5123 Could be a defective pair you were listening too.
