- In today’s video I show you how I make a rice dinner for my husband. Sunday rice is a tradition in Nigeria where Nigerians eat different rice dishes like fried rice, boiled rice, rice and beans, and whatever kind of rice the house wants that particular Sunday. Today I make my hubby a fried/boiled rice and it came out so yummy!! If you make this rice it will definitely be a hit in your home. The steps are very easy just follow along closely. Hello Que, your cooking videos are taking me back to when I would cook for my then African husband. He was from Sierra Leone, and I used to love to cook his native dishes. He taught me some recipies as Godwin did you and my African female friends taught me a lot more. My husband has since passed away but I have all of my memories. I've been married 15 years I cook for my husband every single day you're not doing nothing wrong you are doing What God Says to do and that's to take care of your husband and your husband will take care of you and I have two kids as well so I cook for my family everyday so girl I truly understand. I Love how he loves your food. I am a mixed race child and I know how it is being an American wife to a different nationality. Unfortunately my mom never really cared enough to learn how to cook my father's authentic food and I remember watching him come home from a hard day of work and have to make his own food and she made hers. African culture cannot hide. Rice on sundays I believe is also a caribbean staple passed down from our african heritage. Especially in the Bahamas. Sunday dinner almost always has rice, plantain and coleslaw. Potatoe salad and macaroni can also make their debute.
