Late night S-4 exploring. Not at my rig, so no video haha
This piece is recorded live from a single track on the S-4 manipulating a sample of my little dog growling over a bone while eating it.
Recorded in AUM on my iPad
    Cascade Reverb for iPad
I have touched this up in post with EQ and mastering with fabfilter in AUM.
Next time I’m doing this on camera so you can see how easy it is to transition from one vibe to the next.

I always find manipulating samples brilliant because something new always emerges. And it always sounds fascinating. The reverb, the echo, absolutely fitting. Reminds me of a series in the 90s, I think it was called "Twin Peaks". Absolutely fantastic how the whole thing dissolves into music and goes back to the beginning 👌🎧✨🤍💫A unique radio play...very good, and hats off my friend

      Hey JCW!
Glad you enjoyed it! I do have a couple of videos of me working with the device if you want to check my recent uploads.
Yesterday, I posted a sample manipulation workflow video that may be up your alley.

      Glad you dig it!
This is just a single 3-4 second sample on loop being manipulated by me. I am going to record some focused videos on the S4 just using my samples&Field recordings to show the workflow and how powerful it is with textural work. Every texture is from the S-4 with the exception of the reverb I used in AUM.
I can't say I have ever used anything that allowed me to craft a 20 minute piece on the fly like this. As you say, I am starting to be in love with this sampler haha

@mauriziofaggion it's coming :) I'm already working on a nature themed Concrète piece using field recordings as we speak :)

      Hey Meta!
I am stoked to know you like this stuff. It's always a huge gamble on publishing stuff like this, but it's one of my absolutely favorite things to make lmao
I am going to record more of these deep sample manipulations now that I discovered how deep I can take a 3-second audio file.
Next time, you'll be able to see everything I am doing as I'll be filming video. I honestly wasn't going to publish this, but I thought it was too cool not to share haha
I will for sure post more of these if you want to watch them!

@@AbyssalPantheon oh I think some of the most interesting music comes about this way, just playing around and asking "what would happen if I did this...?" samplers are great for that and the Torso S-4 sees especially amazing for sonic experiments.
Stuff like what you are doing here is pretty well exactly what I like to do myself with instruments.... msot demos will typically give a more obviously musical example of a peice of gears capabilities.... which I get and dig, but I like to go into outer space a lot and see what things are like when pushed to their limits.
I like how this went from Dog to Cthulu beast to some kind of intergalactic wind chime. It makes me wonder if it would work to write a whole track around one sample that transforms like that over the length of the peice? hhmmm.... food for thought... BTW I checked out your other S-4 videos and some of your other work, you have some great ideas so I will look forward to hearing what you come up with next 🙂

      Hey LBZ!
Oh yeah, it's freaking sweet. I personally really like Musique Concrète and audio collage stuff. This box lets me really dig into it with the sample manipulation capabilities.
Once they get a true playhead scrubber for the tape machine, I'm gonna be tearing into samples like this. The freeze function worked pretty decently, and I am gonna experiment with feeding the output of a track into a new one and deep processing each loop until I fill all 4 tracks up. I imagine that it's going to be pure textural chaos
