  • More sonic territory to discover every day. The reverb for this piece is the Walrus Sloer, which adds a lot of unwanted noise.
I have a tasty chips integral dual convolution reverb on order, and I am gonna get weird with it once it's here.

It's truly epic how incredibly diverse range of tracks we can find on your channel. Loving the fact that you can see it being made!

I appreciate you listening to older pieces as well!
I just love experimenting with gear, and now that I've done a full refresh with SOMA instruments as my core, I have been largely just making exploratory pieces and testing instrument combinations, haha.
As I get more competent with each, I will hopefully be moving into a "less is more" approach for my soundscapes.
So far the Enner is my most flexible instrument, and I consider it to be my "main" instrument from the SOMA lineup.
The S-4 didn't stay here long, as it wasn't what I was expecting or looking for, but I'll have something much more powerful on the granular side of things here soon :)

Very much anticipating pairing my Terra with the S-4 (batch #2)! Nice textures here, very immersive.

      Hey Izzy!
I'm glad you're excited to get your S-4 in!
It's a great box to explore with, and I can't wait to see how it matures over the next few firmware revisions.
I'm glad you dug the piece, I am big on textural soundscapes and immersion is one of my main focuses haha
      Thanks for watching!

This would make a wonderful soundtrack to an undersea scene (despite the literal meaning of terra).😊

      Hey Greg!
I'd love to know what qualities reminded you of an undersea scene?
My Abyssal Pantheon Project is actually touching on 4 different concepts, and the sea is one of them. It would be super helpful to hear which elements stuck out so I can reference it later when I start planning out the albums :)
I used a different reverb on this piece than my standard one, and it's a bit more lo-fi oriented than my Merc7. Usually, I use the Merc7 due to the cold sci-fi nature, and I wonder if that helped change the feel a bit.
Outer Space, The Sea, Technology, and Terra Firma are the rough ideas I have been working with, and a majority of it will be microphone based with granular synthesis to make it an electroacoustic project.

Right away I heard mids and lows with rounded tones (no sharp jagged sounds) with generous reverb. This to me is perfect for imaginary undersea sounds in my head. Love it so much. Oh, and when higher pitches come in, they do not dispel the feeling. They could be for a higher energy activity, or something happening closer to the surface.

Once you have yours in hand, you're going to be transported into a new dimension of sonic exploration. It's an incredible experience imo
I am gonna do a focused video in the S-4 this week where I show the workflow and process of soundscaping with a single sample. I did a test run last night and it was incredible to experience haha

Glad you are digging these! This S-4 is a sonic wonderland haha. It's vastly becoming a desert island synth option. I can't wait until all the bugs are ironed out!

Ha! I love it! I'm really enjoying my S-4 so far, and I really enjoy creating with it. I'm gonna do some S-4 oriented videos here soon to show a bit about how it drastically improves my sonic toolkit. I am so excited for the future firmwares

@@DrKunz I may take you up on that. I use a variety of analog and digital synths but really love the coldness and sterility of digital synths, and they make creating horror and sci-fi sounding pieces very easy :)
I have a few things planned that will require the warmth of analog soon :)
