Hey Maurizio! I think that one day, this S-4 will be an incredibly powerful creative tool for everyone. Right now, it's an incredible powerfully creative tool for me haha This is a great ambient effects box essentially, and I will always have it paired with a drone synth. The S-4 has given me a strange little box with the perfect utilities for experimental music. I love that I can load my textural samples and instrument samples, process live instruments, and play my samples with a keyboard while manipulating them into new atmospheres. It will get more powerful over the coming months as features and firmware get updates and additions. You will see the S-4 in most of my pieces now :)
Hey LBZ! Thanks for taking time to watch this, I can get pretty upload heavy when I get new things in hand.... I think this Lyra-8 may be one of the most melancholy and sad drone synths I have used in terms of tonality. There is something about the oscillators in the high registers that just have a sadness. It also helps that I choose sad scales. This was in Dmin. I originally was going to record in the middle octaves, but something about the higher registers just grabbed my attention. It also separates really nicely from the ever-present deep bass drone that is in most of my pieces (I just love dark bassy drones). The Lyra is a really capable box, but I miss having my stregas in front of me too. The S-4 is a great utility to add textures and movement to anything. I'm excited to work on more pieces with it, and that's a great sign that it's a good fit for me.
Hey Somanambule! You read my mind haha, I have been thinking about the Terra/S-4 combo for the last few days, and I think that today I will patch the Terra into the mix and see what comes out. I still haven't tried any of the looping capability or started my frippertronics journey with this S-4, so I still have plenty to experiment with and record. Hopefully, I capture something sweet with the Terra! Thanks for watching, mate! I hope you have a good rest of your day!
I have a cosmos already hooked up in my rig and I love it too haha. The S4 has a "Sound on Sound" feature that replicated the frippertronics style. I still haven't explored that yet as I got sucked into a new soundscape with the Terra+Lyra+S-4 I think about tonstart recording before the magic is gone haha
I get it, it's official: You're in love with that sampler!
