Most f/f romance I have seen books fall into one of two categories: 1) teenage coming out story or 2) 30-40 year old woman always thought she was straight but meets the only woman she is attracted to. She shows no attraction towards any other women for the entire novel. So thanks for these recs
Check out: "The falling in love montage" 4.4/5 on Goodreads 5/5 on Waterstones Overview: When 17-year-old Saoirse is dumped by her girlfriend and former best friend, she decides that dating isn’t worth the heartache, especially since she’s already dealing with her mother’s moving into a home due to dementia, and the revelation of her father’s affair. She doesn’t expect her electric attraction to Ruby, who is visiting her cousin’s family for the season, but when Ruby proposes a summer together modeled after a rom-com-all fun, and no hard feelings when it ends-Saoirse decides to bend her rules. From Ferris wheel rides with prolonged eye contact to skinny dipping at the beach late at night, the two embrace every romantic cliché, but feelings inevitably grow between them, and Saoirse struggles to let down the walls that keep her heart safe. The sweet love story is balanced with Saoirse’s fear of being vulnerable and struggles to accept that her father has found a love of his own, and though the girls never plan for forever, what they create together is special and precious to them both. An emotionally stirring queer romance with witty, playful dialogue

It’s sad that epic sapphic novels are only just now being published, but I’m happy more are now. Just 5 years ago I could only find trashy romance novels. Now there are a good amount of YA, fantasy, and sci-fi books.
Per your recommendation I picked up the Priory of the Orange Tree and WOW, it is now my all time favorite book. I love seeing another appreciate it so much as well! It's well deserved.
My favorite book of all time is The Weight Of The Stars. It’s wlw, young adult, sorta sci-fi, and the easiest book I have ever read. The best formatting I have seen when it comes to a paperback book in a while. There’s a very diverse set of characters, and even poly representation. It’s also enemies to lovers, so take that how you will. I really recommend reading this book
I read down among the sticks and bones recently and hated the ending but lemme tell you the f/f relationship was so adorable I loved them together so much😍😍
so many great books!! hurricane child was one of my favorite books i read this year ^-^ i didn't know there was a sapphic romance in king of scars!!! i still have quite a few grishaverse books to get through first, but that makes me even more excited to read it!
Red White & Royal Blue has been slowly creeping its way into my life so much so that every bookstore I walk into has it on display in some corner or in literally every book recommendation video/website I look at... like even when they don't mention the book it has to be in some corner
I recommend Zoe Reed books if you want to read some f/f romance. He has fantasy, contemporary and also a book set in the zombie (I mean, kinda zombie, but with a twist you can say) apocalypse which is my absolute favorite. The zombie one is called Charon Docks at Daylight (and you can even download it for free), my other favorite is Broken Legacies (fantasy, it even has some dragons!).
About the priory of the orange tree - yes, it’s amazing (there’s some interesting stuff about religion) but it takes a while for the plot to pick up and the ending feels quite rushed, also there’s sadly not much time spent on the relationship, so although i definitely agree that it’s worth a read, i’d be careful not to go into it with too high expectations :)
Asdfghjkl 8:33 your laugh is adorable 😭 Also I have so much trouble trying to find f/f books to read! Your recs helped me fill the void in my heart and also destroyed my wallet, thank you
I saw your Lizzo TikTok today, looked for your BookTube account, and found a whole video on sapphic books??!! My gay bibliophile self is so happy (and my TBR got EVEN LONGER)
Great recommendations as always! For YA sci-fi that is F/F, check out Amy Rose Capetta, their Once and Future and Entangled series are great! And for Drowning Deepish.. Ice Massacre 😀
“A character in this is also … plus size?” The term you want is “overweight”. We also don’t *mind* “fat”, but I know a lot of average weight people are uncomfortable calling us that. lol
Thank you for letting me know! In this particular instance I think I was unsure of an actual character being fat hence the hesitation but I could be wrong lol
more f/f recommendations! - the midnight lie by marie rutkoski (book 2: the hollow heart) - queen of coin and whispers by helen corcora - the dark wife by sarah diemer - the fate of stars by sd simper (book 2 and 3: heart of silver flame, death's abyss) - the witch sea by sarah diemer (VERY short, but good!)
You should check out Foundryside by Robert Jackson Bennett. It’s f/f, has a magical talking key and the coolest magic I’ve read about in a long time. Also Ship of Smoke and Steel by Django Wexeler. Giant man eating crabs on a creepy ghost ship and is also obviously f/f (I’d say the main character is bi though). Also for Sci-fi The Long Way to A Small Angry Planet by Becky Chambers has an f/f romance that is so sweet.
Hi! You most likely won't see this, but I'll post it anyway. The plus sized girl is the protagonist of the third book, Beneath the Sugar Sky; she also appears in the fifth, which has multiple POVs. There's also disability rep in the third. For anyone in general, read the first book (Every Heart A Doorway) before the third! I hope you enjoy them as much as I did, and do!
Mira Grant’s zombie series is AMAZING and I love when characters are bi or gay and it comes as a surprise and is treated lightly/not a big deal. Nice recommendations. During the covid19 lockdown my attention span is shot but I work on libraries so I can go in whenever I want and Into the drowning deep is at 1. I tried Tell me how you really feel but the writing was so painful that I gave up. Honestly I’ll stick to rewatching Fleabag vs trying that book again. Ever read Female of the species? Great teen book in my opinion and I really wanted the main characters to have a mutual attraction but it never happened. Though I thought there was potential/subtext. Far from you. Strongly recommend it. Beautiful book. Smart & heartbreaking.
Wonderful video but the only thing is I’ve looked often in my local library for LGBTQ 🏳️🌈 books and they only have 2. LITERALLY ONLY 2. I was like, “how?”
Forbidden fruit's premises reminds me little bit of Autoboygraphy the whole is out but moves to a small town and has to go back in closet and deals with religion too.
