    BOOKS MENTIONED
I don't think I talked enough in this video about how the girls in the book identified, so I'll include that down by each title! There will also be purchase links for each book which will be affiliate links. If you were inspired by me to read a book and you feel like buying a copy through one of these links then I'll get a very small percentage back from Book Depository.

      Check out:
      "The falling in love montage"
      4.4/5 on Goodreads
      5/5 on Waterstones
      Overview:
When 17-year-old Saoirse is dumped by her girlfriend and former best friend, she decides that dating isn’t worth the heartache, especially since she’s already dealing with her mother’s moving into a home due to dementia, and the revelation of her father’s affair. She doesn’t expect her electric attraction to Ruby, who is visiting her cousin’s family for the season, but when Ruby proposes a summer together modeled after a rom-com-all fun, and no hard feelings when it ends-Saoirse decides to bend her rules. From Ferris wheel rides with prolonged eye contact to skinny dipping at the beach late at night, the two embrace every romantic cliché, but feelings inevitably grow between them, and Saoirse struggles to let down the walls that keep her heart safe. The sweet love story is balanced with Saoirse’s fear of being vulnerable and struggles to accept that her father has found a love of his own, and though the girls never plan for forever, what they create together is special and precious to them both. An emotionally stirring queer romance with witty, playful dialogue

HI! i just discovered your channel, but we have so much book chemistry let me tell you. Everything Leads to You is my favorite, with We Are Okay. Most of these i’ve read or are on my unending TBR but i still found myself on the library website requesting echo after echo IMMEDIATELY in spite of having already been on the list for The Lost Coast.
I’m still diving into wlw books after being a late-blooming bi who didnt consider Queer Media as a Thing (beyond wondering why Buffy didnt just get with faith already, the emergence of many bis, i just happened to be watching on netflix in my early 20s) but I have found some great books (and also not great lbr)
since you like a good rainbow cover-who doesnt-Our Own Private Universe by Robyn Talley. Lies We Tell Ourselves also of hers. My personal favorite find that i dont hear talked about is The Gravity Between Us by Kristen Zimmer.
this one i just finished is harder to get to, it’s Australian, but it’s got a half-indigenous MC going to the city to study music in a foundation course for aboriginal students. she deals with her feelings about liking the city, about where home is, her guilt about leaving her family, and it shows some of the more difficult parts of life there without preaching-oh and she also gets a girlfriend along the way. a half-maori girl who clicks with her in many ways even though they have lives that look nothing alike in others. it’s a really sweet book despite dealing with some tough subjects
Nevernight is SUPER dark but the MC is bi. It takes a book for her to kiss a girl but from then on it’s hate-to-love
i keep saying finally ugh so many but ok who am i if i am not shrieking about ek johnston The Afterword seems particularly your still, though That Inevitable Victorian Thing also has contemporary-ish royals!
fire and stars is the best but ice and shadows may be the bestEST
One day the stuff I write will be in those lists, I have my MFA in writing for children and YA and my work is v. gay. i had medical problems for a while that slowed down my writing/subbing, but soon. it doesn’t help that the sudden burst that got there between me graduating in 2013 and now has upped the bar
anyway I didn’t wanna ramble around in your comments but like I said we have pretty similar taste it seems so I figure I will probably be a regular commenter!

The problem is that she is not a native english speaker (although she enjoys reading english to learn). She needs books that are easy to understand. This is a really good rec list and I can't wait to read some of them! I don't... read nearly enough f/f even though I read a lot of queer books. A lot of it is dysphoria, as an enby person who is often perceived as a girl (I'm not. I'm neutral.) who is dating a girl, I tend to project and end up really dysphoric and frustrated when reading f/f. But that's not the fault of the book and I need to work through it better, because it's not a healthy way to read. ...That was probably tmi and a little "huh?" but it's 2am and I am a little shaky. Thank you for the list and continuing to be a rad person.

LacePendragonReads I completely understand this 💖 there’s never any reason to pressure yourself to read things if it is going to negatively impact your mental health. If you haven’t read it already, I would really recommend Blanca & Roja by Anna-Marie McLemore, as there’s a non-binary character who dated a girl. The book alternates between him and her pronouns as that’s what Page, the character, prefers and it’s really lovely. Page does deal with some confusion from others regarding her gender, but it’s all written perfectly and I think he’s an incredible character.

    My faves:
    - Into the Drowning Deep by Mira Grant: has a lesbian main character and a bisexual main character who wind up together, they're both total badasses and the lesbian is also autistic, which means a lot to me bc I am also autistic. Plus it's about killer mermaids and the ocean and has a whole cast of great characters so it's honestly one of my favorite books, HIGHLY recommend I so want her to get picked up to do a sequel
    - Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Ngan: has lesbian main character and LI, set in an Asian-inspired fantasy world where the people are separated into castes by how demonic they are and the MC is a paper girl who is sent to the king and she meets a girl there and they fall in love. It's a really sweet love story in a book that deals with tough topics and I cannot wait for the sequel
Echo after Echo sounds really good for a spooky time of year, gonna have to try and get my hands on that one. Plus I read Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo bc of you and LOVED it.

Thank you for all these recommendations! Definitely some new ones that I have never heard of.
I wanted to bring up a couple important things to note:
-Tell Me How You Really Feel does have some Own Voices criticism for white-washing comments from one partner to another.
-Fried Green Tomatoes.... that book is racist as hellllllllll. Also, I think the relationship between Ruth and Idgie is inappropriate. There's an inappropriate age gap for the age Idgie is when they meet. As well, there is some physical abuse and toxic communication early on in that relationship.

They both have bad parents so they decide to run away and one gets in a fight with a drunk that sends her to the hospital where she finds out she has brain cancer and she's terminal so she lives out the rest of her days with Mallory.
