-NOTE TO SELF, CHECK YOUR LOAD AFTER BEING OFFLOADED......LOOOL
today marks my 7th shift amongst driver agencies, hopefully this vlog provides a small insight into the different type of work an agency may give you, as well as what day to day life is like for a multi-drop driver. I give my personal opinions on what its like tips and hints ect. PLEASE NOTE BY NO MEANS AM I RIGHT OR WRONG THIS IS JUST MY OPINION AND HOW I LIKE TO DO THINGS MY VERY OWN WAY.
I covered a longer shift starting at 0600hrs and finished at 1700hrs for £17hr, I drove a class 1 to multiple locations, delivering food related pallets for various different companies, who offloaded all my pallets, it was a really easy shift, with the exception of one mistake.
I'm just working my way through your videos and find them very informative and helpful. Cheers for everything you're doing and the advice you're giving.
Thanks man much appreciated !!! 👊🏾
Driving for Lenham!!! Special place in my heart for those guys
New subscriber and finding it very useful. Q...whats the consequencies if you have to go back and use more fuel etc ???
The worst one i had was getting phoned at 2 am in the morning and starting for 7 am. Pick the truck up on site and the excavator driver will give further instructions. Work until you run out of time! Got paid late too. Shouldn't have been surprised by that looking back on it. Also got caught on a multidrop job. The distribution centre couldn't get all the pallets on. They broke one pallet down and spread it on top of another customers order. Didn't think to actually tell me though 🤯.
Pahaha this is mental .. I’m legit uploading vlog 6…. talking about some of these situations, and the standard of some companies 🤢… but hey, you can’t learn from your mistakes if you don’t make them in the first place right…😅 phone on flight mode until 0800 🤣🤣
Thats my lorry. My regular unit your driving there. Think I started not long after this video was taken.
Been doing Class 2 for 6 months part time as extra money. Can you show more reversing techniques as that’s the scary part for class 1 👍
Good on you mate !!!! And yes I’ll try my best !!
I am looking at getting my HGV. Thinking about agency work. Can you get constant work? I need somthing where I could possibily work 4 days a week but may need to cancel a shift if acting comes up.
So weekend work is a little bit and miss, but due to shortage of drivers there in more than enough work to go round esp during the week and on top of that most agencies allow up to 24hr cancellation prior to the shift, plus you can always join multiple agencies if your falling short and need more work. Hope this helped mate 👨🏽💻😁
awiiiwq
When we going to see some reversing pal ?
Awesome content. 👌 keep it up. I've hit the 🔔
thanks mate!!
Which agency was this through? Do they specify minimum 2 years experience? Apologies if that was covered in the video and missed it somewhere
Absolutely Mike !! I am on an ADHOC contract so 0hr commitment and I get paid as and when I choose to do a job, I provide my availability weekly and get paid weekly, they also pay holiday pay (usually £30 for a £135 day) out of their expense and I can take that as and when I want taxed accordingly of corse, hope this helped mate, any dramas give me an email or message on Instagram @isireview
No that's helpful bud and exactly what I'm looking for at the moment having just passed my test so much appreciated. Any details of the agency you're with? Cheers
@@mikejoyce4652 I am a newly class 1 driver what I did just apply with about 4 agency's it will take time but the work will come.
@@mikejoyce4652 congrats Mike on you passing your HGV class 1. I’m going for my test soon and have been searching for jobs in advance. Everywhere seems to be asking for experience etc. any luck for you yet?
@@kingusher1 ignition (agency) Stobarts (pay is rubbish but they do take new drivers), Tesco I believe is also taking newbies
There’s money out there-That Girl that Prince Andrew never met ......made millions 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
This tickled me 😂😂😂
Hgv job , Lots of responsibility 4 the money paid... and vosa could get u too.
Isn't a DQC a qualification?
With regards to pay rate, yes, the job is generally easy however extremely high responsibility. If you make a small mistake... F that, if a cyclist next to you makes a small mistake and goes under your truck, it's gonna be you that goes to prison. And for that sort of responsibility £17 per hour is low.
Risks are involved in anything you do but 100% agree the rates vs the risk of the job we do doesn’t make sense !!!
@@TRUCKERKEV agreed, although I think the risks we have to take going around corners with 44t are underrated. Someone else’s ignorance can end up your burden.
how long do i need my licence before i can do HGV
As per the government website “ To become a heavy goods vehicle (HGV), bus or coach driver you need to:
have a full car licence
be over 18 - but there are some exceptions
get a professional driving qualification called the Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
You must have the full Driver CPC if you drive an HGV, bus or coach as the main part of your job.
There are 5 tests that make up the full Driver CPC. You might not need to take all 5 tests, for example if you previously qualified as an HGV driver and you want to retrain”
18 now isn't it
@@grimreaperbadboy wow indeed it has changed haha that is mate 😮💨😅
Which Ocado location did you deliver food?
Hymn… not to sure mate it was a while ago 🤔
