Many people think it's just a rebadged sigma in metal housing.. Personally I sent mine back. If Leica have improved the optical performance, I want to know how before I lay down an extra £1000 over the sigma. Metal housing doesn't add £1000.

Weather sealing and lens coating for reducing or eliminating chromatic aberration are two points I know have been covered in other reviews/comparisons of this lens.
