I'm an old guy who got back into film photography after a three decade hiatus several years ago (I developed my first roll of film in 1966) and I have certainly made just about every mistake in the book. Regarding accidental tripping of the shutter there is one camera I have which has a different, although related problem. My Mamiya Universal is a camera in which it is all too easy to make accidental double exposures as there is no interlock between film advance and cocking the shutter. Each must be done separately. So in this case I advance the film as soon as I have tripped the shutter, but I wait till I'm ready to take another exposure before I cock the shutter. Oh, and I have to remember to take the dark slide out of the film back before using (and putting it back in before changing the lens or removing the back! I've made both those mistakes). It's a beast of a camera but I love it. So I guess an additional rule is "learn the idiosyncrasies of your cameras!"
Since you are talking about editing it would be great to have the names of the editors of each film you are using as an example instead of only the director and the dop. Editors are an essential part of the creative process so we need to know who they are.
Have any firmware updates addressed these 'issues' 3 years later for the Z5?
Tamron qc is notorious
Just love this Lens ...Took it to the Woodlands of NC USA it nail the focus on a quick small warblers with 2x Telconverter and still razor sharp . Kepps details better in Long distance shots for ID shots of a Seabirds who often are far out ...Both 1.4 and 2.0 TC works and i can not see much diff in sharpness.Super fast lens and focus much faster then my old 300mm f2.8 and even usable for great landscapes shots..Just love it and i have the RF800mm F11 which is quite nice in the right Light cond and also the 100-500mm but this Lens is the winner as the background and foreground blur makes the Object you are shooting outstanding ...Wurth it ? for me it is Yes as like you said in your Video sitting in and drive ferrari this is a good Compair as it feels nice to work with this lens and it is super solid weather sealed and ready for a rough situation ...I just love it i got the only one in Iceland so far and here the Summer lights are nice but we have short period of light and in the autumn and winter it is very lack of light so f2.8 + high ISO makes it easier for me and btw i use it with Canon R 6 Mark II and put a Battery grip on it as it works faster with two batteries as the second focus motor does not get enough energy from one batteri
I have some great ideas to make some fantastic videos including some extracts from some music tracks . Just need someone to help with videography and special effects in the East Midlands area if anyone interested to put these ideas into reality. 😉🇬🇧
Interesting how soft the Sony was in comparison, kinda contradicts what people have found in controlled test.
Say prime for 600 f6.3 and save 6 syllables. Say zoom for 180-600 and save another 6. Cut your video down by a few minutes and make it easier for your audience to follow.
Hello, I have understood that the Atem Television Studio 4K8 Overview does not record the 8 ISO sources in 4K, it seems logical to me due to the process that I would have to do!! But my question is, does it have the ISO function in case the sources are all in HD? Thank you !!
nah ektar is nothing at all it is the best hands, go take the risk and do it anyway cant even compare to any other film on the planet
Fak, this was power packed.
Happy grading!
Thank you for your review. I just bought this lens here in Brazil. Your information was important for my decision.

Very good. Hermano Machado, from Brazil.
Cool video but majorly overhating dslrs… I’m a mirrorless shooter but dslr era was fun. Great ergonomics, infinite battery life, durable and extremely reliable, and the viewfinder is real life not just another screen 🤷♂️
Totally, and the history of the DSLR will always be there - we often use old SLR film cameras which have that classic and satisfying mirror 'slap' that you just don't get with mirrorless cameras! Happy shooting!
I read several reviews the Tamrons physical makeup is inferior to Sigma. The zoom is noisy and the manual focus isn't smooth? Also Sigma is smaller and lighter on the lenses you showed?
While of course each manufacturer will come with their own advantages and disadvantages - the optical quality produced by Tamron lenses is superb, especially for a creator on a budget!
Does anyone know what happened to Bryn?
A sales man pretending to know what photography or leica is
Actually, Deon has multiple Leica cameras of his own including an M10 and Q2 and our team are extremely well versed in Leica products. some of our staff have shot on the old school G.O.A.T Leica M6 35mm film camera. Whilst D might be a salesman, he is an extreme fan of Leica especially the M system.
Where did you get the shirt that says EOS R5?
They were supplied by Canon 😁
I thought backlight was the nemisis of all PF lenses.
what i would love is a 400-600mm to compliment the new 100-300mm lens.
OOO yes! That would be the GOAT!
❤👍 i am glad to see a man who is not crying, like a baby, that the SL2/3 is too heavy. Fantastic review. I will by it next year - at first i need some more Leica glass. Greets from germany, Carsten from the marode Villa Petersberg
Hope you enjoy it!
❤❤❤. Greets from germany. Carsten, Villa Petersberg
Fantastic review. I just got mine in the mail recently but haven’t had a chance to use it yet.
You're going to absolutely love it!
I love my SL3. A bigger upgrade than I expected. I have been using my SL2 since it was released and the SL3 was a much bigger upgrade than expected and I love it.
what is the best/biggest upgrade in your opinion? is the AF really that much better or still lagging behind Sony and Canon.
@@ledoov Being that I do not do video and have never needed auto focus. The focus has been greatly improved. Will not track birds like a Sony or Nikon. I use to shoot some sports back in the day on Film with my R8 and a manual focus 400APO 2.8. Just have to understand the sport you are photographing and know where to be. I found the Canon to behind the Sony and The new Nikons in auto focus. The color science is wonderful.. I had problems with the M11 and color, however the color on the SL3 is wonderful. The overall ease of use and handling is real nice. I did not really think the slight bump in resolution would have the impact it has. When I print the files at 24"x36" and 40"x60" a real difference in the total pop of the images. Now they just need to release this a monochrom and I will be set.
The Autofocus is a huge improvement for sure, of course it's hard to compete with Canon and Sony's AI autofocus but as a stills camera the SL3's autofocus is incredible!
I love the original SL601 out of camera and I am looking forward to seeing the results from the newest version. What I find interesting is the collaboration with Sigma and that to improve autofocus you really need a second company to help to speed up the process.
Can you give us some info on freezing issues? Did you have any? Thx.
I've used mine heavily for the last 4 weeks and I haven't had a freezing issue.
Can't say we have, we are in the same boat as @BrandonTalbot. This Leica has performed immensely well!
The same goes for the SL2. Colours out of camera are amazing. No editing required just touchup work to skin and photos are ready to be delivered. As photographer I feel like I’m not doing my job when I’m delivering images that that require no colour corrections.
Totally agree
any body want to buy me one, include with the 24-70 lens and 100-400 lens? let me know!! You must be a very very rich and good person.
One of the best Camera reviewer on youtube!
Thank you!
0:19 A ridiculously-looking body
I think she is beautiful. If you are talking about the camera it is also beautiful.
Ridiculously robust body the construction feels top notch!
If you want a Sony sensor, buy a Sony camera, which is better, and doesn't carry the Leica ripoff price
This camera is more than it's sensor alone. That would be like knocking Apple for using monitors made by LG - there's more to an Apple computer the its monitor alone, the same goes for the Leica SL3. and every SL3 is crafted with precision and attention to detail in Wetzlar, Germany.
Overpriced leica-shit. Better choice buy some other brand pro camera. Costs more less and you can buy also some glass. And better quality pictures.
I’m not knocking other camera brands (I have 5 Leica cameras, several Nikon SLRs + DSLRs, and a Canon DSLR, and I’m thinking of getting a mirrorless Nikon for long telephoto work), but Leica makes excellent cameras and lenses. They also use a different design philosophy than other manufacturers do: simpler body design (fewer buttons) and menus, which I prefer.
But these do not show the "Leica" writing.
Other camera companies don't attract trolls as well as Leica.
@@carlstawicki1915 thats not troll😂😂👍. You ownself get triggered about my comment😂 thats not my fault😂😂🤷♂️
Overpriced? Yes. Shit? A resounding no.
An incredible camera, to say the least, some of the best colours I've ever seen straight out of camera!
Agreed.
i already have the 100-500mm and i hate the thought by adding a 400mm 2.8 i am doubling up. i know its not the same but its just how i am. for that reason i prefer the 600mm choice.
Hello! What are your thoughts on fujifilm C200 film stock vs fujifilm superia x-tra 400 film stock?
Thank you for the comparison and film related contents, but... 1. Are you trying to beep viewers away?!? 2. Bloopers are okay once....
My current favorite B&W film is Derev Pan 400 from The Film Project
So basically shoot ultramax at box speed and meter for shadows
I got the Sigma based on how it renders images. While the Tamron is technically a better lens. I preferred the look of the images out of the Sigma.
So bit depth of 12 or 16 might not necessarily be displayed over 99% of displays in the world but when it's compressed or graded and output to a 8bit file, does that 8 bit now have more fidelity in colors than a natively shot 10 bit video file? Is that why we can still figure ouT A RED camera footage from say a BM or Sony camera ? Due to the 16 bit fidelity being crushed into 8 bit as opposed to just 10 bit crushed into 8 bit?
none of them (the lenses you show) is a "power hose of the Nikon system...
Fantastic review! I've watched so many on the R8 and this was the best by far. Well balanced and informative. Thank you!
Nicely done.
As far as I was aware most people's computer monitors and handheld devices are setup within the sRGB colourspace - not Rec709. TV monitors to Rec709.
You both made a true comparison, thanks!
Correction: Sigma came out 2019 December, Tamron G2 in 2021 October! Used to own the Sigma 24-70 Art… but honestly the Tamron has a nicer bokeh and the way it shifts from subject to background is way smoother than the Sigma. Sigma is also older than the others… the Tamron is more of a video shooters lens due to its faster AF, the Sigma is for photographers first.
Great video, but for the life of me I can not figure out how to change my C70 from NTSC to PAL. Can you help me out please?
? What kind of comparison is this when you are using different lenses? Sheesh.
is it to me or sigma is clearly sharper than sony?
Great comparison! I have an a7iii and am an amateur shooting landscapes, kids & high school sports with lots of family events. bought the Tamron 70-180 last year and it is perfect for indoor sports. I have been using the Sigma 16-35 with converter or a Tamron 20 for close work.( not ideal). I’m now purchasing the Tamron 28-75 to complete my setup. Thanks again for an excellent comparison
I guess that the reference right at the almost end.. to Fujicolor 200, is about the film up to about mid-2023? The changeover since then is to Fujifilm 200, which is said to be essentially a repackaging of Kodak Gold 200. Back in the day, mid 80's, my film choices for my Nikon L35AF were always the basic Fuji 200 and 400's over the Kodak films. Thank you for this video. I haven't tried either Portra or Ultramax on my Canon T70..., time to try both.
