Great job! You know the history too, why Ethiopians cut the chicken in 12 pieces. All the time in Ethiopian chicken wat it is necessary to Slash the chicken and boiled eggs before you put them in the Stew, to absorb all the ingredients and it is one of the secrets that makes Ethiopian cooking delicious.

As good as this turned out. I will never make it again. It destroyed my digestive tract due to the amount of fat and onions used. It made the house smell terrible for a week. That's with cooking with the windows opened. Made me and my bf stink for days.

@@fergiemcavoy9802 nothing was burned. This is not the first dish I've cooked. I think I know the difference between burned and not burned food. After cooking at home for 16 years.
Onions stink. You probably don't know that because you eat them frequently. But I assure you those around you know it smells bad. Onions are also hard to digest for some. Learn to use Google before you make a counter comment.

@Amanda fly, sorry you have digestive tract problem due the oil content. I am from Ethiopia and back home my mom and her sister used to cook doro wat and it was delicious. The way they cooked the chicken was with less oil and the Berbere (hot pepper) was in moderation. Maybe that could be better for you. Anyway, Chef Lola did a good job in cooking Ethiopian food and she also knows how to cook East Indian and Middle East food!!
