Today we'll be looking at a mod that lets you have a pet in the game, we'll be decking out our bases, diving deeper than before with some oxygen tank improvements, and turning the reaper into a zombie because who needs to sleep anyway!

You can actually already have a pet reaper but it will try to attack you, you can still feed it by dropping down a fish right before it bites you it will instead bite the fish

@@zakiaachmorra-ne1exFor now, only 4 in the Subnautica version of the mod. The Below Zero has more (6 in total). It's a limitation of the "land suitable" creatures in the base games. I am looking at adding custom pets in an upcoming release, though.

You can technically tame from a spadefish to a crabsquid when ya hatch em, so I suggest bringing crabsquids to the lost river with you.

It would be great if players could interact more with the fish they raised from eggs in containment tanks. They are passive, which is a nice touch, but it would be cool, if we could feed them, or ask them to follow or protect us. I mean, wouldn't it be awesome to have one or two Bonesharks protect you, while exploring wrecks or the lost river? Or to ride a Crabsnake through the jelly shroom cave?
I never was a big fan of the cuddle fish. This is probably a me problem, because everyone seems to love them, but I really don't like how they look, so I never bother with them. To have more than just ONE kind of pet in this game would add much to the community. Players could actually choose, what kind of pet they want.

Quick idea here, What if in subnautica, instead of ghost leviathans in the dead zone, there was nothing at first glance but if you went down to about the depth of the deep lava zone there was ground, and it was full of valuable resources and also good base building land but there's also something watching you, there would be small stone structures on the sea floor in the area and sometimes you would see something that looks uncanny valley but it would disappear in just a few milliseconds when you turn the screen to look at it and the longer you stay in the dead zone it appears more and more frequently and after about 30 minutes to an hour it stops. if you make a base it will also appear in there, its also a humanoid but the body is pitch black with pure white eyes, its appearance will occur by flickering lights in the base about 3 minutes before it appears. each minute before it appears something will happen, like items going missing from your lockers or power going out for a few seconds, then the lights go pitch black, and it looks at you from around a corner, if you try to scan it the battery in your scanner goes out, if you go and walk to it the humanoid disappears and everything goes back to normal, this will happen in cycles of a starting time in-between encounters being 30 to 45 minutes, each encounter making the wait time shorter and shorter until its happening every 5 minutes, and at the final encounter if you walk to it the creature vanishes, but the lights stay off and the base starts to shake, then holes start to appear in the walls and flood the base, if you try to exit a creature quickly kills the player with a squid like tentacle, if you are in a vehicle when you exit during this time the vehicle gets crushed with you inside of it, killing you, if you dont leave the base it will inevitably fill up with water and drown you, if you repair one of the holes two will appear somewhere else, leading you to ultimately die. when you respawn in the life pod and decide to go back to your base you will find nothing. and the process will eventually restart. The tentacles that kill you will circle around you when you exit the base for a few second, leaving you enough time to scan them, the scan will reveal the tentacles go on farther than you can see, the information in your PDA from the scan will say that the suckers on it are constantly producing toxins that eat away at soft things like fabrics for your suit and skin, those toxins also have a protein that causes hallucinations.
I love it :) Would definitely love more stuff in the dead zone!

I want a pet Reaper so bad. I'd name them Charlie, give them fish everyday, give them lots of seamoth toys, and scratch them behind their mandibles. I'd have to wear earplugs, a reinforced diving suit, and get them used to me, but it'd be worth it.

that would be cool! but since they are levthatians, you would have to do a hard task to get one! like, a mini game where you have to carefully stealth through the lost river and get to the big blue tree, with a adult ghost levthativwn following you, if you get seen, you lose. to activate it you would have to go to the grand reef with the ghost levthativan(or the bloodkelp one idk) and interact with the adult ghost levthatian ( use stasis rifle in order to ) then boom!
I can also see finding a reaper egg in the dunes, and having to lead the reapers away with decoys, or just escaping them
Then there’s the sea dragon, would probably be the hardest one, you would have to team up with a warper ( after you cure yourself ) to get sea dragon dna from one of the two sea dragons and then you could make one in the pet modification thing! ( also you would team up with a warper by using the pda to translate English into the warper language, it has done it before, but opposites)

You can have a cave crawler in your base without mods and It won't attack you all you have to do is get it in your base with the propulsion cannon through the moon pool but it will escape if you want to keep it in your base you can put doors in the corridor but this is a glitch and if you release it in your base you won't be able to pick it up again.

The Pet Update ( Prepare for a army of words! )
1.Ghost
You have to go to the big blue tree and interact with it to start a minigame. You start at a entrance of the lost river, you get a minute head start to run, there is a adult ghost following you, you have to stealthy swim to the big blue tree without getting seen by the ghost lev, if you do, you have to restart. Once you make it to the big blue tree, you will be awarded with a ghost lev egg! when you quit the minigame or win it, you get sent back to the big blue tree. You would have to grow it in some Linda mintuare big blue tree I guess
2. Reaper
You would have to go to that big crater in the dunes ( one with cuddle fish egg ) and there will be a reaper egg, you have to grab it and when you do, you will enter a minigame where you have to evade reapers and get out of the dunes, however, if you go to the void running from the reapers, there would be a cool cutscence where all the reapers would leave you alone and then you just see a void ghost eat you. once you do get out, you would have to figure out a way to hatch it!
3. Sea Dragon
You would have to team up with a warper ( You have to cure yourself ) and the way you would do this is use the pda as transition as It has done that before, expect alien into english. Once you do, you would enter a minigame where you are in the lava zone and you can use the warper to help you like it could teleport you! you would be given a dna extractor and have to go to a sea dragon and get its dna, you would have to get two shots of it to give to the warper for research. then you can use the pet machine to make a sea dragon pet! ( it would start small, and then you will have to build bigger contaminants as it grows, same with the other two )
That is my way of all the three main hostile levthatians !( expect for garg )
I might add more with the garg and the passive levs, and maybe some other creatures.
Here we go! Phase Two!
4. Reefback
You would have to find a baby reefback that would be alone being attacked by reapers, you would have to protect the baby reefback and lead the reaper away, the baby reefback would now then follow you! It would grow bigger and turn into a adult one! you can also use its dna to clone one that would stay small ( And all the other ones too )
They will also have benefits! But I will say that later.
5: Sea Treader
You would have to go to sea treaders path and find a baby sea treader that is alone and lost, you would see two piles of sea treader bones, maybe the gargantuan lev had gotten them? you would have to help the baby sea treader until it gets ould trust you enough to stay with you! ( You could put it in ur inv and then make a place for it ) Then it would grow bigger until it will be a adult!
6: Garg
This one would be hard, you will need to have skill and bravery in order to get it, you first have to kill all three void ghosts and then the adult garg would appear, you would have to dodge it s attack and once you do, you would have a chance to take some of its dna! then, you could make one in the pet machine, it would only grow to a certain size, as big as your sea moth!
Since I have covered all the levs, I will tell you the benefits
1.Ghost
You could ride them and you would be safe from other hostile creatures! Useful if you are building in a dangerous area since you can also use items on it
2. Reaper
You could go hunting with your pet reaper and hunt fish! small fish that had been killed by your pet would give a bit more food! Medium sized creatures killed by your pet reaper would now be edible! Giving way more food! Although, your pet reaper can die, but you can heal him/her with peepers! ( Only at low health, if it’s dead, it’s dead )
3. Sea Dragon
You could use the sea dragon fire balls to break into a blocked off alien base, it would be hidden somewhere and have a pool area with fish, but they would be hostile, if you go deep enough, you can see a window with a giant unknown lev, there also could be a item there that would make your pets stronger.
There also could be some places with caves where you can use fireballs to break the rocks that were blocking it off, there would be tons of ores there!
4. Reefback
When it grows to a adult, you could use the barnacles on its shell to get resources! You can also customize your reef back shell with plants!
5. SeaTreader
Your sea treader pet would poop, and you could use that for fuel for your bio reactor!
6. Garg
You could go back to the garg lev with your pet garg and have a epik battle with the adult garg! once you killed the adult garg, you could use its scales to make ammor that would be really useful for some things, Remember that unknown lev? You could go back in there and fight it! you would be given a key after you killed the adult garg and enter the unknown levs domain, you could also fight that too! With it giving a recepie of a care pet machine, you could make treats, clothes and other things! You can also hunt with the garg but better rewards then the reaper.
How to get the Pet Machine
You would have to find a wreckage that would have the recepie for it, you can then make it and also make a dna extractor!
That is all for the other levs and benefits, I’m also gonna do other creature pets too!
You know what? Ima try to do everything! This commet will be so long! If I miss some, tell me them ( I am not doing Below Zero Yet )

1. BladderFish
Find a cluster of bluish purple eggs in any area where it spawns!
Useful for oxygen, water, food and decor!
2.Boomerrang
Find a cluster of yellow with parts of blue neon in any area boomerangs spawn! Useful for Food and Decor
3. EyeEye
Find a dark green cluster of eggs anywhere where it spawns!
Useful for Food, Decor and Tools!
4. Garryfish
Find a Yellowish Red cluster of eggs in any place that it spawns in! Useful for food and Decor!
5. Holefish
Look for a purpleish yellow cluster of eggs!
Useful for Food and Decor!
6. HoopFish
Find Greenish Purple eggs anywhere where it spawns!
Useful for food and decor!
7. Hoverfish
Feed Him/Her some fish treats :)
( I will say how to get fish treats later )
8. Magmarang
Find a Redish Orange cluster of eggs wherever it spawns!
Useful for Food, Decor And Tools!
9. Ocuclous
Bring a Cluster of Peeper eggs to the mushroom caves and then stay there for Twenty Mintues!
Useful for Food, Decor and Tools!
10. Peeper
Find a Blueish yellow cluster of eggs with a small eye on each one!
Useful for Food, Decor and ??? !
11. Red EyeEye
Bring a cluster of EyeEye eggs into any lava zone and wait for Fifteen Mintues!
Useful for Food, Decor and Tools!
12. Reginald
Find a greenish-purple cluster of eggs with a small Eye on each one of them!
Useful For Food and Decor!
13. SpadeFish
Find A cluster of blueish reddish eggs with a small eye on each of them!
Useful for Food and Decor!
14. Spinefish
Bring a hoopfish down to the lost river and put it in the green liquid until all skin would be removed, making a SpineFish.
Useful for Food and Decor.
Next are the Not edible Fish.
1&2. Biter and Blighter
Feed a biter some rockgrubs
Feed a Blighter some rockgrubs
Biter Benfits: Can go hunting and gives more rewards when killing fish ( Less than Reaper )
Blighter Benfits: When going in dark areas, if using a blighter, there will be some light.
3. CrashFish ( Creatures with eggs will just either only show Benfits or taming adults )
CF Benfits: Free Sulfer and Useful for damage and Tools.
4. Mesmer
Mesmer Benfits: Hypnotize fish to grab, or run away for a short amount of time.
5,6&7. The Shark Group ( Stalker, SandShark and Boneshark)
Stalker Benfits: Free Stalker Teeth and hunting ( More rewards than Biter )
SS Benfits: able to dig through sand for resources and hunting ( Same rewards as stalker )
BS Benfits: Hunting ( Same as Stalker and SS )
Group Benfit: Improved Rewards from digging and stalker teeth are more often ( If all three are present )
8. Ampeel
Ampeel Benfits: Hunting ( Rewards are a bit better than the Shark Group )
9. River Prowler
RP Benfits: Hunting rewards and stealthy attacks ( Same Rewards as Ampeel )
I0. Lava Lizard
LL Benfits: Mini Fireballs and Hunting ( Same Rewards as Ampeel ) Mini Fireballs and Stealthy Attack combined will make the Stealthy FireBall attack
11,12,13&14. The Ray Group ( Rabbit Ray, Crismion Ray, Ghost Ray and Jelly ray. )
RR Benfits: Faster Plant Growth
CR Benfits: Faster Lantern Tree Growth and Faster Egg Hatching.
GR Benfits: Ride It to avoid Hostile Creatures ( Cheaper Ghost Lev )
JR Benfits: Plant Growth Rate Is Faster
Group Benfit: SUPER Fast Plant growth rate and even faster lantern tree growth. Little bit faster Egg Hatching and Stealth if on GR.
(CR and GR will have eggs since I am too lazy for that )
15. Gasopod
Gasopod Benfits: More Gas Pods
16&17. Crab Duo ( Crabsnake and Crabsquid )
CSN Benfits: Hunting and free Acid and Giant mushroom seeds ( little bit higher rewards from LL )
CSQ Benfits: Hunting and Emp Blast( Same Rewards as CSN )
Group Benfits: Hunting and Riding Minigame. ( Hunting rewards are a bit better than CSQ and When Riding Minigame has been completed, Ores will be granted. Emp Blast with Stealthy Fireball Makes Stealthy Electric Fireball )
18&19. Warper&RobotCrab
Kill a warper, you will have a opportunity to dissect its organs and go to the Warper Base, There you will be able to make your own warper. Benfits are teleportation and attack any infected creature.
Robotic Crab
Kill a headcrab and dissect it, destroy a robotic crab and go to the hidden alien base to make your own robotic crab.
Benfits are, Just a cute lil companion!
( Teleportation paired with Stealthy Electric Fireball will make The Teleporting Stealthy Electric Fireball )
20. CuddleFish
Benfits: Just a cute lil companion :)

21. Skyray
Find a nest on any piece of land, take the egg without getting pecked by the angry parents. Build a nest made with Kelly and put the egg in. Wait and you will have a skyray
SR Benfits are, Hunting and eggs, you are able to make omelets and feed yourself or your pets. You can also make it perch on your shoulder ( Only on land or in a base, Rewards are better than a biter, worse than the shark group )
22&23. Floater and Anciet Floater
Use Floaters to kill a Lev, In order to get a Anciet Floater, You need to have 75 Hours of gameplay and drop your pet floater and make it into a Anciet floater.
Floater Benfits: Able to grab objects and bigger fish and throw them.

maybe you could enter a mini game where you have to protect it from all sorts of hostile mobs, you would have to do it quite a bit and they progressively get stronger, last one being two reapers

was playing subnautica, cruising in my seamoth, minding my own business. i broke the surface, and a reaper jumped out in front of me and caught me in mid-air. fair play to him. i couldn't stop laughing for two hours.

My story:
Haven’t finished Subnautica yet. I got into the lost river with my prawn and he decided to betray me and lead me to a ghost leviathan which scared the life out of me. Then he decided to commit suicide by taking me into a pit which was far below his crush depth, and was full of lava he couldn’t touch. Then he decided to explode, taking the life of himself, me, and all the precious materials within him. Maybe it’s because I didn’t pet him :) (Also it made me lose a literal 3 hours of progress, ouch.)
Probably the lack of pets yeah :D
