- Hello, my friends! I'm back from holiday so it's time to travel back to the terrifying world of 4546b and absolutely destroy it with mods! Today, we'll essentially be transforming the game into Doom by adding as many weapon/explosive mods as possible! Ready to go hunt some reapers?

This was actually the point if I remember correctly they didn't add guns to subnautica as a commentary on gun control leading to people not being able to protect themselves

Don’t get me wrong, I love Subnautica, especially how you have no real weapons and have to improvise and be smart to deter or avoid predators, but I’d like it a lot more if this was because they wanted to make a survival game where you can’t just shoot them up, instead of becaus guns bad

This video was hilarious. Glad the knife is the only weapon in the game though, makes it feel like the fish are more lethal when you have no weapon
id accept that if the stasis rifle wasn’t in the game. being able to immobilize and stab the fish to death severely detracts from the fear aspect and would just make more sense to add a harpoon or actual gun but unknown worlds just had to “solve gun violence”
Yeah I definitely think adding this many weapons kinda ruins the point of the game :) It’s super fun tho!
@@archdornan3694 or that the Propulsion/Repulsion Cannons are utterly lethal because that sudden acceleration (especially right into a wall) or that you can just stab Bonesharks with the Drill Arm until they go belly up.

Yeah something was up. His mouth was still moving. But at least Bacon chased it into the shallows. In one of my games a reaper just popped into the shallows. Just calmly getting impatient looking for stalker teeth when I heard the roar. When I got back to the pod I looked and just saw it swimming in the distance. Luckily it hasn't gotten to me. Yet...

@@CaptainPilipinas reason is they dont want ppl to kill things, being able to just kill everything makes it a lot less scary than having to sneak by and they want ppl to feel helpless on a traooed planet. Thats why below zero doesnt even have the stasis rifle anymore

And so much more boring. Surviving at the top of the food chain is pretty easy. But when you're way down the food chain, survival is a lot harder.

There should be a mod that adds the sowjet-era "Akula-class hunter-killer" submarine.
Because it is ridicoulus. Can go up to 42 knots, has a ridicoulus turn- and dive-/surfacing speed, has I believe 4 or 6, maybe even 8 torpedo tubes.
Just the passive sonar is total garbage.
But imagine going up to a pack of three ghosts in a Hunter-*KILLER* submarine!
No, wait. What about a missle boat? Maybe a Typhoon-class like the Red October or something from the americans.

I’ve slaughtered every single reaper in the map, it was a 2 week journey and a dead prawn but I’ve achieved it. With this mod I’m going to take the lifes of every other leviathan remaining.

Why have a sword when you can have a lightsaber? It would do way more damage and could potentially cook fish upon contact. Plus lightsabers have a cool effect underwater, and there’s also the potential of full customization for it.
A lightsaber would be amazing for sure :)

Use the Propulsion Canon on those pesky little crash fish. You can then use them as explosive projectiles :)

Tech pistol is the OP tho. Not just for Decimating them rocks and reapers but also base expansion. If my theory is true, you could make your observatory into the size of the Aurora with that thing and build a mega mansion inside of it

the enemy that has annoyed the most has to be the frickin warpers.
I'll be exploring the lava zone in a prawn-suit and suddenly I'm like 50 meters away and my prawn-suit is now on lava and taking damage.
Fair they can be super annoying when they teleport you out of vehicles :)

Would be interesting if there was a mod with actual guns since real life guns designed for shooting underwater are very unique with there design and it would be funny to see what this Sci-Fi's arsenal would look like for underwater combat.

Hey bacon, how's it going? Thought I'd stop by say hi and mention that less than an hour ago I beat subnautica below zero and I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed bz. It was great, the dialog between AL-AN and Robin was awesome and the ending was sooo good. I'm glad I waited so long to play it. I did start playing a long time ago but decide to take a break after loising 4 hours of progress which sucked but I cam back. I saw the frozen leviathan and cured it, Margaret's return was cool. Running off on a tangent or rant? Anyway love your content stay cool 😎 bye

@@TheLastBacon yeah I hope the upcoming subnautica game continues Robin's story, because the end was so open, like what will happen with al-an and robin if the other of his kind are alive? Will al be welcomed? Also there is a phase gate in the distance of the precursor homeworld skybox maybe that could be used as a method of transportation to other worlds maybe even other water worlds and take like a no man's sky approach but just not as big as no man's sky and on these worlds are other architect bases that will be used to rebuild al-ans homeworld. I can't wait for what's next for this universe.

a good mod would be one where the game starts on the aurora. there it is, just minding it's own business; when the beam hits. you have to leg it to the escape pod avoiding fires, knocked-over furniture, and panicking crew-members; allthewhile the aurora is practicing for the planet-diving championships.
That would be quite ambitious :D

reminds me of the dream i had last night.... what if you took subnautica, made the fauna even more hostile, and gave to the player access to military-grade subs and mechs? (not far-fetched, its the Natural Selection 2 setting after all). Even taking it to the point you need to be in co-op to be able to deal with the insanity the sea will throw at you (as of course leviathans would take INSANE damage before considering backing off from their prey, and you may end up havign to deal with more than one at the same time), covered inside the kelp, and to cover all angles. Result, that omnious shape in the distance? you can fight it, but chances are, it is already coming for you, and if you are alone, your weaponry is very likely not enough to threaten it.

@@TheLastBacon Oh yeah. Teamwork needed, could see one guy playing the commander role even, but with the subnautica atmosphere of fear of the unknown.. and definite feel that without a group, your weaponry is no threat to the predators that are out there.
And i mean, just imagine, you are in a group of mechs walking along the sea floor, then in the distance you spot a squidshark... You unleash fire on it, but its not enough as it swoops in despite being hit by a few torpedoes, snatches one of your teammates, and carries its future meal away... meaning even if your friend gets dropped, he is now alone. With a leviathan. in potentially hostile territory, in a damaged mech with water leaking in the cockpit... Who said Subnautica cratures couldnt be scary if you had real weaponry? :p
I usually use Prawn suit with grapple and empty arm to losso the reaper and then just pomel him to death (around 30 hits to kill the poor bastard) so even vanilla game is not that scary. I really hope they will make 3rd game SCARY scary.

Realistically I prefer when games have a balance between be able to defend yourself and defenselessness. Take horror games for instance, you wouldn't wanna play a horror game where you feel overpowered cause then you're not scared but at the same time you don't wanna play a horror game where you're completely defenseless cause then you're too afraid to progress.
Well if it’s a horror game being too afraid would probably be a good sign :)
