    I just discovered your videos today and I am blown away at how well they are played and explained. You are opening up a whole other world to me my friend. Much like how Jerry did. Some theory and chord structures plus a whole lotta heart and soul = Jerry. Thanks for all your amazing lessons.

    I've just got to tell you, thanks so much for putting this stuff out there. You're the only teacher I"v found who really teaches the meat of what many players need to know, in order to play like our idols. I started playing a couple of years ago after going on tour for a couple of years and something sparked within me. I had to start playing. It was really the Guitarist from the Disco Biscuits that made me want to play the guitar. I've started trying to go back to fundamentals that I skipped over when I first started "playing" That's when I came across your videos, and thank God I did! I have since purchased your blues masterclass part 1 and after only two weeks my playing has advanced far beyond what I could have done in two years blending all the teachers on CZcams together, like I used to. I don't know maybe you just fit my style. Anyway, thank you. You don't know what it means to me. Have you ever considered putting out a video of in the mind of Jon Gutwillig "The Barber" From the Disco Biscuits? Hate him or love him, dudes got something going on, that I would like to know about. It might be a challenge for you to think about... If you're ever at red rocks for a show let me know. We should meet up for a second. You're one of my new idols you Trey and Barber. Top three ever! Epic stuff!

    My playing has been growing by leaps and bounds ever since I started learning jazz. I'm all over the neck now and my rhythm game is getting strong! Love your videos! I'm going to have to start studying Trey and Jerry. My brother was a Dead Head and followed the Dead all over the country for like 3 -4 year up until Jerry died. I think my bro even got a picture with Jerry at Niagara Falls not too long before he died.

Have it bookmarked, you are a great down to earth instructor. Love your vids, man. Love this song. I first really heard it from the Los Lobos version on Deadicated - okay, I’m not an original Deadhead. They toggle between C and F when the song goes to C, which gives it more of a G mixolydian feel. When in doubt I also just play C major pentatonic over the C. Can’t miss. Of course, if I get confused I just listen to the music play.

    Can someone explain to me what he means by the e-minor scale shape? I know the 5 minor penta shapes but this looks like a major scale (Prob because it's in G major)? Ive been looking through stitches playlist but cant seem to find the lesson where he teaches this shape. Also is there a stitch video that shows the shapes of the major pentagon scale like he did for the minor penta scale? The only one i was able to find is the major/minor never lost lesson. Thank you!

    Nice stuff,
    Jerry seems to very much follow the melody like a country player ( Willie Nelson comes to mind) - way more than a blues based guy like Page.
    Not confusing if you know what notes are safe within the chords, Just amazingly difficult to hit stuff clean and sweet like Jerry on a good night

      @miamistomp Pƙed 7 lety +1

      Yep. Abanjo player and teacher,
      So he would be brought up on chord tones as you basically have just the 3 major chord notes on the open strings of a 5 string bluegrass banjo tuned to open G
