This is the best channel for actual guitar lessons that will make you a better guitar player. Not just showing you how to play certain songs but helping you understand what you're playing. Love this channel
Ian Stitch and Steven Stine are the 2 names I tell everyone that tells me they need good guitar lessons for free online.
I love this guy!! Something about him personality and how he teaches the combo is fantastic!!
Ian, you do something really great in your teaching. It's the whole tone of your presentation. You make people feel good about themselves. I admire your style!
You've really hit the nail on the head there and I've never really twigged it before. Yes! Ian does make you feel good about yourself and about learning!
I agree with you!
I wish I had a teacher like you 25 years ago! Would have saved much time and wasted effort. 👍
I know right
I feel the same..so glad I found Stitch 🙏
And too much money spending on the guitar. Because, like me, when I could not play, I bought new guitar.😀
Pure genius. Soloing is intuitive, if it's done right. This lesson will help you get in touch with the whole tension-resolution thing in an intuitive way that only Stitch can deliver. Thanks.
I’ve only recently discovered you and I gotta say this has changed my life. Sounds dramatic I know but you rock. The way you integrate the theory into practical playing and the emphasis on feeling and listening and really taking the time to understand what you’re doing - the story telling using sentence construction and narration as analogies to how one plays the notes and constructs melody etc - just blows me away, and i really want to thank you for it.
I can’t believe how long I’ve been playing and completely missed the importance of understanding what the intervals actually do, really good lesson here. I’ve heard it in playing by ear but this lesson was so good. Thanks man.
Really enjoyed the breakdown of the ‘quality’ of the Interval Tones, and how they integrate inside a Minor Pentatonic. Tension and release.
Another great lesson! Your explanations are just right (aka you DON'T talk too much).... You tell us what the important thing is, show it to us, and show us how to get there.... Mahalo
You always bring it on home brother.
I really love your channel, it's so practical, straightforward easy to grasp and apply. 👍👍👍
This video combined with the “I like pizza” video has made a real difference for me. Thanks!
You’re the man. Never fail to learn something watching your vids. Thanks❤️
Digging this lesson Ian! As always, appreciate sharing your guitar mastery with us
Got my looper working and focusing on the 3rds and coming home to the 1. Thank you.
Do glad I found this channel. Best teacher I've found to finally help me make sense of this guitar. Thank you!!!!
Probably the most helpful soloing video ive seen. So easily laid out and practical.
bro you are such a great teacher i feel giving you a big hug!! much love
These are some of the best lessons I’ve ever watched. You not only show us the tools, but how to use them and why they are important all in a very well made and well explained video with great examples. Thank you for taking the time to put in this level of effort!
I've been using call and response to (hopefully) make my solos sound more musical than a scale exercise. Every now and then I would stumble upon what felt and sounded like movement and tension - and I liked it - but those happy accidents were not easily reproduced. I watched this vid, grabbed a guitar, and was able to *intentionally* create both within a couple minutes! Awesome stuff! Thank you so very much!
Thank you so much for sharing and teaching. Really appreciate it.
Take care
Love your videos Ian! Thanks for being so light and inviting.
I have been waiting for this so glad I found your channel!
Now only if I could Iearn that cool smile from you while I m playing the solos you teach 😊
Love the way you build on stuff through your videos. Thanks for sharing!
You're a great teacher. Lots of value in your content!
Hit it out of the park with this one! Great explanation of the pentatonic in such a simplified concise lesson.Thank you.
What a great lesson! Thank you for what you do 😃 I apply what you teach to my mandolin jams
Another great lesson . Mr Stich really teaches key info in a understandable way.
I really appreciate your videos and teaching style. Love your vibe and contribute a lot of my growth as a guitarist to you. Thank you!
Love your teaching. I'm just a beginner but learning so much.
Ian, I am grateful to find your channel. I like the way you teach. You enlighten people, give inspiration and set us free. Cheers from Indonesia.
I've been retaining so much more since you started adding diagrams to your videos - thank you
Heck yeah man this is exactly what I have been looking for!!
This lesson is over-the-top awesome! I love thinking about the intervals!.I find understanding them really gives meaning to my playing.
This video blew my mind. Thank you
Yet another great and helpful lesson! I find it amusing when ads come up before your videos for other online guitar teachers, especially the ones that claim there are no good lessons on CZcams. I smile, shake my head, and click on “Skip Ad”; if they only knew... Thanks for all you offer us out here in musicland!
Wow i'm learning more and understanding the Pentatonic better thanks so much!
Honestly, I've strayed from this channel of late, not because of the content or the instructor, I've just been interested in other topics/hobbies. But I have to say, without a doubt, watching this video has made me really appreciate what an excellent instructor you are, and that your videos have made me understand and truly learn what I'm seeking for in playing guitar. Thank you Stich, your channel has become my 'home'/'root note' to come back to when I want to further my playing. You are appreciated!
Thanks Benjamin
Just to echo, superb video and thank you.
Am a late-50’s beginner who has been following tutorials for months and after filtering am now down to watching mostly just yours. This style is right up my alley, brilliant. I need to try practice more, now that I understand the fairly simple ‘math’ of Pentatonics ☺️
Fabulous lesson, opened my mind, slowed my chronomatic fingers and gave them more purpose, expression and freedom.
Sounds so much like Anastasio. Awesome.
I'm watching in order to get a better feel for my 8 note pentatonic steel drum. I play guitar, too. What I am here to say is I'm only a couple mins in and I think your personal vibe is awesome.
Thank you very much for this video, very helpful and there are not enough people out there with your affable and professional teaching manner, cheers mate
Your lessons are so great.
Thank you! Soooo good!
Amazing!! I’m been seeing Phish since 1994 and have heard these jams so many time. Makes so much sense now.
Thanks have a great week!!!
Excellent, insightful and releases the frustration of previously not getting it quite right: Thankyou.

Thank you.
This is seriously a great video Ian, totally addicted to it..ideal lesson for people trying to solo in pentas
So true. This lesson changed it all for me! It broke the Penta down so I could start taking each note and dealing with it personally. Learnt so much and it’s been the key. Magic lesson. Thank you Ian. 🙏
So glad to be here and have a great guitar lessons and techniques..
Outstanding Lesson... Thanks
Great lesson! You unlocked a piece for me that I had not grasped yet. Thanks!!

Great lesson Stitch.
another mind-blowing lesson...
That's was fantastic and very helpful after I've been through your caged videos. Thank you very much
So Helpful
Hey, nice class enjoyed it and LOVE that gitar!
Yes. Definitely solidifies the use of minor pentatonic for me. Thank you!
I just too a break from my jazz playing and recorded this B7 in my looper pedal w/drums and jammed out. Wow you could really do this all day long! Thanks dude!
Really fantastic video. Thank you
Melody...your lessons are great cause they are made for people who want to play music, so many guitar players sound so mechanix now,it's almost as if music is not important, but just the ability of moving your fingers fast on the fretboard...
Ian, Thank you for providing me the link. This was just want I was looking for. Your content has help me so much. looking forward to see what you have on your Patreon page.
Thanks Stitch great leason
Sorry I don’t make more comments on your totally brilliant lessons. When I hit a plateau, your lessons inspire to pick up and start to climb again, brilliant, clear, sufficiently challenging on theory whilst keeping it practical and you’re clearly a nice fella too. Thank you.
I always love hearing from you Sean
Thanks, Ian
Thank you so much
Youre the best teacher.
Thank you. You are a natural at doing this and, as if you didn't already know this, you have truly found your calling. But from someone that has limited playing knowledge, your ability to simplify and communicate fairly difficult to understand concepts is just awesome. Again, thank you.
Dude, that was really nice to hear. Thank you
I appreciate your lessons man, even if I dont have to watch them I dont mind hearing you talk about them one bit
Great content
Great lesson. Thank u.
Fantastic Teacher!! He’s the new Guitar Guru! Move over Marty!😎
Excellent
Nice lesson! I have the minor pentatonic scales down pretty good but have been working on phrasings. This helps a lot.
EXCELLENT!
Thanks!
