So thank you for this video. Back in the fall I tried to get my Cub to start and it just turned and turned. Pretty new machine, but the tri-state winters have been so mild that the carb clogged from lack of use and my lack of maintenance. Never cleaned a small carb before but watched this video and cleaned it and it started and today after a real storm it operated as it should. The trouble that was saved with getting it up into the truck and the cost and the picking up again. No one else in the house cares, but small victories like this are a happy occasion! Thanks.

Thanks for this! I had never done this but followed your steps and no kidding it runs better then the day I got it from the store. I did have a very tough clog in the black plastic screw jet but soaked it and then used a pin to finally clear it. Great job!

You absolutely saved the day with this video! I can’t thank you enough, I purchased a 28” intellipower last year, used it twice, tossed in some sta-bil and forgot about it until I pulled it out to change the oil this fall and it wouldn’t start. I debated taking to a pro but you gave me the confidence to take it on myself. Thanks for taking the time to put out a comprehensive step by step how to video.

Thank you! This is my exact model. Similar to others comments. mild CT winters , new blower , only used once last March, drained tank in the spring. still managed to clog. I did see some saw dust in the carb bowl, its stored right next to my table saw. Have to get back to following the fueling instructions my dad taught me when I was 10. wipe around cap area before filling! Runs now, a little rough, have to adjust carb in warmer weather. Will get the job done if I need it before spring. Thanks again and may God bless you!

BTW, those 2 spring controls you remove atop the carb have been replaced in my 2022 Cub Cadet (31AM5HVSB10) by a small, round electronic module. I believe that may be part of the Intellipower feature. At any rate, it's held on by 2 Phillips head screws and easily removed and left dangling out of the way. For ease, I preferred that to those 2 spring attachments shown in your video. For your future reference.

My brother in law bought this snow blower a few years ago. It has never started at the beginning of each season although he stores it according to the manual. The carb gets clogged every year preventing it from starting. It has no provision to spray starter fluid into it. Should carburetors get this bad even with ethanol free gas? I got a brand new Cub Cadet, used it for 1 season less than 10 times - I purposely used only ethanol free gas to prevent this. This season it won't start, I'm assuming this is the issue. Spark plug has spark. I just thought / was told this wouldn't be an issue with ethanol free gas.

    • @thesmallenginerepairguy

I just did this to my neighbor's snowblower and it started right up and seems to run well. After it ran for a few minutes I shut it down and tried starting it again, but it wouldn't start. My neighbor told me to choke it and I told him it wasn't necessary because it was warm now. He insisted that's the way it started and always did, so I choked it and it started fine. I turn the choke back to run and the engine runs well again. Why is this necessary to start a warm engine with the choke on? His machine is only 4 or 5 years old, but he says it's always been this way.

    • @thesmallenginerepairguy

Everything went smooth until i had to unclog the little black "tiny little Jet). I don't have that blue pin thing to pit in a drill, so I used a sewing needle, and it took me forever to clean it. It was like trying to puncture hardened dried tar. Nearly impossible. There must be an alternative solution. My Club Cadet Snowblower now works, Thanks to you!.
