    Thank you! This is the best video I've seen with regards to my snow blower not working. Hard lesson learned. Don't leave the gas in over the summer :(

    Thanks so much for this video! Save me from taking it into the repair shop a day before 6-8 inches is set to fall. Worked like a charm!

    Thank you! I cheated because a new carb on amazon was dirt cheap. These instructions helped make sure I was able to remove the carb and replace it with the new one easy as pie. The only challenge I had by doing a replacement was swapping the extension to reach the choke knob. It's made to go in and stay in so I had to use nippers to cut away the plastic on the old carb that was holding it in place. It would be a lot easier to drain my gas after next winter 🙂

    Followed this video today for our first snow storm and got my snow blower back up and running. I thank God for finding this video. Very helpful even though there were certain parts that the camera wasn't completely on what he was doing all the way. I still managed. I thank God!!

    Thank you so much. This really saved my butt. Mine is maybe 5 years old and looks almost identical to this one. Mine is always a huge pain to start. Once its started it runs like a dream. Always floods or has old gas in the carb idk but I fought with it for almost an hour today. I drained the carb like you did in at the start and if fired up in half a second I was like really thank god. Mind you I already had half the drive way shoveled in pure resentment for the machine. Take pretty good care of my stuff too change oil and sparkplug. Store in a dry place till winter etc. I almost put it on Kijiji I was so upset.
    Thank you again. Awesome video

    I moved up from Texas to Buffalo, NY to take care of my Dad who had a stroke and is now wheel-chair bound. Bought a Cub Cadet after that crazy blizzard and our plow guy couldn't get to us for days. I put Sta-Bil fuel stabilizer in my fuel tank over the summer (I did a ton of research on how to store these things so I won't get screwed in the winter), and honestly this gunk in the carburetor issue seems to be like it will be the case. First snow of the year and it's been a miserable day. I hate this shit lol, but I love your attitude and I aspire to be as optimistic and level headed as you when it comes to running into problems like this. Thanks again for the video.

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  Před 7 měsíci

      It should be 13/16. In my tools I have 5/8, 9/16 and 13/16. One of those should work.

  • @amhaun01

    Thanks for this, it got me going this afternoon. The jets were indeed all gunky and I got it all cleaned out, started up as soon as I put it all back together.
    However now I cannot open the choke without stalling the engine. I did manage to clear the driveway etc but it threatened to stall a couple of times, i figure what with the choke totally closed the hole time. I took it apart again to see if I'd missed anything, or to maybe adjust that idle screw, but no. Is there anything else to adjust in there?

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  Před 6 měsíci +1

      Nothing else to adjust. Something is still blocking a passage way in the carburetor. You need to clean the carburetor again. Make sure the emulsion tube is clean. Also spray carburetor cleaner through all the passage ways. Make sure to wear safety glasses when spraying carburetor cleaner. If that does not fix it I would just replace the carburetor.

      If there is one it will be inline with the outlet of the gas tank. @@amhaun01

    Thanks for the video! I’ve swapped the carburetor and the machine is still dying after running for a couple minutes. It wants to run, but kills itself if I put a load in it

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  Před 7 měsíci

      Hhmmmmm..... I need some more information to help. What happens when you start it up and just let it idle? Do the rpms go up and down or is it constant? Does it eventually die while idling?

  • @tommantia5422
    @tommantia5422 Před 7 měsíci

    What size screwdriver did you use to remove the main jet? I seem to only have ones that are too big, or barely too small.
    With the too small screwdriver I seemed to have scrapped up the jet a bit. Do you think it will need replacement?

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  Před 6 měsíci

      I do not know off the top of my head. I will look later today. Some minor scrapping should be ok. Just be careful , it it made out of brass and if you strip it, then you will not be able to get it out.

    Does a short extension cord come with the snow blower?

  • @jimbalensiefen-do9bo
    @jimbalensiefen-do9bo Před 8 měsíci

    tried all of the items as you described and still same surging problem. Removed and cleaned carb twice, drained gas tank, and even replaced spark plug. Same problem. Starts

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  Před 8 měsíci

      How did you gaskets/seals look? Damage to them can cause air leaks, causing the surging. I have also cleaned carburetors multiple times and it still surges. I just replace it after that since they are so cheap.

      Are you sure it is oil? If so, was the engine tipped?

    • @BhupinderSSingh
      @BhupinderSSingh Před 7 měsíci

      Yes after priming, and pulling to start oil drips from the carburetor, engine wasn’t tipped

    Mine won't start with pull but does with Electric start. It pulls fine but just doesnt turn over.

    • @small_engine_repair
      @small_engine_repair  Před 5 měsíci

      The opening and closing of the intake valve and the timing of the piston creates a suction that draws gas from the carburetor. When using the starter that is happening really fast over and over and it getting gas to the top of the cylinder. Manually pulling is doing the same thing, but not as long as the starter. Make sure that when you press the prime bulb that gas is getting out of the bowl and into the top of the carburetor. That helps when starting with the pull cord.
