I like how King Shark is basically immune to getting hit by Starro's spores due to the shape of his face.
I guess just have weirdly shaped head.

Also also fun fact in the very first animated appearance of the Justice League (in Batman Beyond) Starro was the first villain they faced, and he was similar to this appearance in motivation.

What I love about the build up to Starro is how unexpected it is for the team. They didnt even know or were expected to fight it. And over half of their group has been killed by this point. So its all mismatched supervillains left to face it.

If you've seen the Bikini Bottom Horror, you'll find that the Tortured One is loosely based off of Starro as they were both used as experiments.

That's what I was thinking to when I saw that movie in theaters.
Nice touch of having Bloodsports helmet get destroyed before this scene so it adds to the suspense for this scene, making us fear for his survival.
Despite everyone apart of the suicide squad hearing Rat catcher 2 saying to cover their faces, no soldier nearby picks up on this idea and uses their absolutely viable Mich helmet to do so, that's some canon fodder logic right there.
Edit: People still respond to this and I have yet to grasp why.

I wonder how many people outside of DC fans got the fact Starro is not a character made up for this movie specifically but had a previous existence in the comics and other DC property? It sounds so ridiculous on paper as a concept... I only learnt about Starro in the past few years because of playing DC Universe Online... a DC MMO. If I had never played that, I woulda thought this was the dumbest thing ever made up for a movie.

Nay..i knew about Starro from Batman Beyond, when 'It' take over Superman and the rest of new Justice Leauge members.
I first learned about Starro watching Batman the Brave and The Bold (My childhood Batman series). Felt a nostalgia high watching this movie. Also helps the movies so fucking good, so much better than anything else put out by the DCEU.

The big eye in the middle of the starfish reminds me of the huge robot alien in Monsters vs Aliens

One problem I’ve always had with the Suicide Squad movies. The villains never wear they’re damn masks. Which would play especially well in this scene. Especially Bloodsport. Why wouldn’t anyone want to wear a mask that badass.

Honestly, the butterflies are worse since the controlled are more agile and are basically like metahumans in strength. The Starro controlled ones aren't that bad as you have to cover your face and the controlled are slow walking.
