Thumbs up for cottage cheese!
My Mom always liked cottage cheese and I hated it. After going through a medical crisis leaving me severely protein deficient I tried it again. It has NO flavor and a TON of protein. I now have it in my fridge at all times. Easy to add to more than you'd think.
I've never been a big fan of cottage cheese but I really want to try this recipe!!
Great with hot sauce. Large curd FTW!
Genius, chef!
chickpea pasta is my go to! It works fabulously well. The trick is to NOT overcook it! It will cook far more quickly than regular wheat pasta
Strangely, I had the opposite result: I cooked it as directed and it was as chewy as if it was undercooked. So, I overcooked it on purpose. It was less tough but still had that non “al dente” chewiness. That’s it; I’m going back to Dreamfields 😑
@@peppermintpsaki1157 Probably can't get a proper al dente on chickpea pasta, it's not pasta.
@@peppermintpsaki1157 Huh, I have always had it break apart into small pieces when overcooked. I'm not sure what brands you have available to you, maybe there's an extra ingredient? I've used Banza, but most often use whatever brand they sell at Aldi, which is 100% chickpea flour
I learned that the hard way 😂
Made this for the first time tonight with Chickpea pasta, chicken and broccoli added. Was delicious! Only suggestion is cutting back on the pepper if you don’t like strong pepper flavor.
Looks good but I would recommend something fresh. Fresh parsley or maybe fresh spinach
Just recently found your channel & made this recipe tonight - the recipe itself was great. The best part is that it was quick to come together and didn’t make a big mess. If that wasn’t enough, your video is short and sweet. All around experience was A+. Thank you.
This was so good!!! My husband and I both agree that it was even better than the Mac and cheese we got when eating out. So easy too. Thanks so much for this; it's definitely made it into the lunch rotation! I used red lentil pasta instead of chickpea pasta and it worked very well
Love this!
Use red lentil pasta, it's the best high protein pasta I have found. Tastes good and stays it's shape.
Made this with chicken and bacon this evening and my whole family loved it!
Thank you very much for the super easy recipe, I just made it and it was great
Looking good, and this is quickly becoming a new fav channel. Also adding peas with tuna is something my mom did with mac and cheese and its awesome. Protein bars seem better on my gut but shakes are more versatile (I can add creatine and whatever else with it).
Tuna pea sounds good!
Just started my fitness journey, thanks for the recipes!!!
Wow! Looks so good. Either shakes or bars situationally. I like shakes and blend them with ice to make them more voluminous; I also pack bars for bike rides or other places where I need convenience.
Easily one of my favorite youtuber. I started with your cottage cheese scrambled eggs recipe, and it's the best, I make little egg and cheese street breakfast tacos with chick-fil-a avocado lime ranch and peri peri hot sauce.
I hate cottage cheese but used to use it as a base to make protein pudding (mixed in a food processor with whatever flavored whey protein) and that was actually pretty good. So I'll give this a try.
Banza Chickpea past is amazing! Really filling!
I am hooked , new subscriber love the recipes
Looks and sounds delish…have to give this a try
Thanks for the cook
i absolutely needed this.
Thanks for sharing...im definitely making this
I absolutely love this! Chickpea pasta is all I eat now and I need to learn to blend my cottage cheese especially for this recipe! Thanks will be checking out more of your videos!
Wow I just stumbled upon this video and this is gna be my meal prep for next week!
Just subscribed. I definitely need more protein in my life, and your recipes are great ideas
This looks delicious. I may have to make that this week. As for your question. That is a tough one. I enjoy both, may lean towards bars a little more since they tend to be more like a candy bar. I do like the versatility of a protein shake though. It is super easy to add tings to them such as spinach, avocado, yogurt, etc. Make thick so it is like a desert.
Going to make this tomorrow!
That looks yummy! And for once, I have all the ingredients. Will be making this.
Hope you like it!
Thumbs up! So easy and tasty, although I didn't use bone broth. Cheap to make and delish! I will be following you.
Dude, we are on the same wavelength. I just made a protein buffalo turkey mac and cheese two days ago! I used greek yogurt as my base though. Cottage cheese rocks!
The chickpea stuff doesn’t taste like pasta and has a weird texture. The barilla protein+ pasta still tastes and eats like pasta.
Love those!
Looks good chef 😊
i always use the protein pasta, and always put cottage cheese in my eggs, but never thought of adding cottage cheese to a mac n cheese. good thinking. will try this.
The Banza protein pasta is excellent. Highly recommend it.
That looks delicious and love chickpea pasta. Hello, dinner tonight. You Rock and I appreciate you and the channel so much ❤️
How does the chickpea pasta taste compared to normal pasta, how are the carbs?
Roasting mirepoix and blending with the cheese sauce is a good way to add hidden veggies too
Protein shakes!! Thanks for doing these
one of the only youtube recipicies I made and is a banger
I’ll be trying this for sure!!
The Mic actually sounded best when you pulled it off and held it in front of you at chest level. Sounded slightly muffled where it was for the video.
This looks fantastic. At the onset of the video I thought man, I wonder what the macros would be with chickpea pasta? Boom. You nailed it. Thank you.
Loving this one. Protein shake for the win
I've had that banza pasta before and I prefer it over regular pasta as it's so high in protein! It tastes great and unless you're super picky it won't taste any different than regular pasta. I have problems with my gut being sensitive to certain things but that Banza pasta makes me feel awesome and leaves me with more energy over a longer sustained period of time than regular pasta honestly. My personal experience obviously, but would definitely recommend it to anyone!
Damn, gna hv to try this🤤
I like lupin bean pasta for lower crab/higher protein. Can’t wait to try this! 🎉
You are spot on with the additional spices and I always add tuna to my mac and cheese. Never made my own but this looks great. It has all the stuff I already like. As far as shake vs bar, I like both but prefer to make my own protein bars as I can control the ingredients.
I am not big on the banza personally. I love Goodles cavatappi protein pasta. Good macros and great taste, texture. I sometimes add pureed steamed cauliflower to mac sauce and i love flavoring mac sauce with tony chacheres creole seasoning.
This has been my go-to trick for a few years now. People look at me like Im crazy when I tell it to them, but if you melt it in with the other cheese, you dont even notice. It gets even cheesier, creamier, and more protein to boot.
Proteins bars are my go to on the road. When I’m at home or work (I have a NutriBullet at work) then I do my shakes.
Recipe for tuna mac everything looks delicious 🤤
Protein bars. Thank you so much for the videos.
Thumbs up for cottage cheese. I love protein shakes too!
Thanks, this looks good and healthy if eaten with a salad kr something.
New mics that everyone is using lol Now your talking my love language! Great recipe I will have to give this a try with It's Skinny Pasta Noodles. Get that 500K subs!
Shakes are my preferred quick protein source, but that is only because so few protein bars have good macro proportions. Would love to see your take on a protein focused protein bar
I recently found the ratio yogurts. They have 25g of protein in them. They’re also pretty good and low in sugar.
protein shakes for the win!!!
Winner Winner Pasta dinner. It looks delicious Derek 🤤 I love Banza Pasta that's what I use most of the time, nice shout out to Banza. Derek try and get a sponsorship from them.
Can't wait to try this! As far as your question, it really depends lol. I've had many different types of both shakes and bars. If this us specifically for post workout, shake 100%. For a meal replacement? Bar. If it's for what tastes best, can be a draw. I will say though, my go to for each is Optimum Nutrition for shakes, and whatever they Robert Irvine protein bar is called (its similar to Supreme protein bars, but I haven't seen them in my area for years)
Looks good! Shakes
💕 cottage cheese!
Depends, I like protein bars if i have a sweet craving, while I don't really make shakes anymore, I just mix the powder with water and drink it to stay on my protein range.
Also, this looks so good, I will be trying it with banza.
Chickpea pasta isn't bad. When it's covered in sauce you probably won't notice the difference. It does smell a little funky when cooking, I've noticed.
Cottage cheese is my favorite food in the world. You are my favorite ever.
Cottage cheese is triple the price than Greek iogourt here in Spain. Anyway is one of my basics. Thanks for the reicpe.
Changing the subject. I'm in the protein shakes team (better macros). I blend it with ice, kind of a smoothie to get a fuller stomach
Instant sub
Looks delish !!
I prefer protein shakes ❤
love adding peas with my mac
I usually roast red peppers and toss it in. Tomatoes work too.
Dope recipe! And your mic sounds super good when its below your face like that instead of on your shoulder. Disclaimer: im not a mic expert or anything.
Looooooooove Bonza pasta!!!
Any advice on how to fix it when you’ve broken the sauce?
Banda protein pasta is a game changer for meal prep. Switch into it when rice begins to get old.
Power crunch protein bars (5 net carbs) for breakfast and pre-workout. Protein shakes smoothies for post workout, my fav. is 1 scoop vanilla 100% whey protein isolate, 2 heaping tablespoons of natural peanut butter, 1 tablespoon of apple butter, and table spoon of real honey...., I call it an apple pie protein shake but it's just a name. Give it a try.
I love protein bars!
I buy my whey isolate from an industrial bakery, 15 kg bags for $200~ depending on shipping delivered to your door in a couple days, comes with a testing sheet. I pound down a shake a day but I have been experimenting on making bars, mixing different things with plain whey iso to see what happens. An interesting one was strawberry jam and iso, almost made fruit by the foot with it, I need something so it isn't so sticky.
This was delicious. I used Chickpea pasta also.
Thanks man. I'm going to make a big pot.
This recipe got me subscribing so quick😏🫣
Maybe I'm in the wrong channel but looks like an awesome recipe to throw some sauteed veggies in. Mushrooms peppers onion and garlic woukd be divine
Protein shakes for sure ! More convenient, can do a lot of recipes with the powder, hehe
Where did you get your precooked chicken and bacon bits?
Interesting channel. I prefer protein shakes to protein bars as protein bars are often about 1/3rd protein by calorie percentage. Protein shakes are usually 70% - 80% protein by calories. Protein bars usually cost more due to the convenience factor. BTW, it would be nice to see the macros in these dishes.
shakes all day!
Protein bars, love ya protein chef!
I like the taste of protein bars, but always opt for the shakes because the macros are so much better, especially the protein to calorie ratio
i personally enjoy protein bars more but something like clear whey is also very good. i usually dont like the protein powders mixed with milk
Could you switch out the corn starch with anything else?
Shakes are the better supplement, since you can prep so that your meals have high fiber. When I travel, I add bars, because I won't be meal prepping, and I need the fiber in the bars.
I prefer protein bars. The new mic is spot on.
Could this recipe be baked as well?
I prefer protein shakes but would appreciate a recipe for a high protein low fat protein bar. 😊 Team cottage cheese 👍
Cottage cheese super fan here
Protein bars all the way
I prefer the redlentil protien noodles. They seem to settle better for me? but the chickpea is also good. I love both because I cannot handle normal wheat it seems. though i can do egg pasta.
I liked the red lentil pasta that I tried awhile back.
I like both shakes and bars but it depends on when i have them -- after a workout or a morning meal replacement i would have a shake. Something to snack on through the day would be a bar!
I bet nutritional yeast would give it a delicious cheesy flavor ❤
An Alfredo version of this would be great
Is the corn starch necessary?
Would this work with Greek yogurt instead of Cottage Cheese?
Hell yeah!!!!!
Question on bone broth. Adding 2 cups of bone broth to water gives 18 grams of protein. How much of this is actually absorbed into the pasta? Trying to figure out macros. Looks great.
Its a waste...
Chickpea pasta is exquisite 👌🤌
What does the Corn Starch do?
