This is a perfect recipe for when you come home from work and you got hungry kids to feed. Everything can be ready within 20 minutes. Better and faster than take out. You can also take it to work as lunch because it reheats in the microwave really well. The flavor if impeccable, it is nutty, savory. The chicken is tender and soft. The noodles are very filling but well balanced with the veggies.
INGREDIENTS
1 lb of fresh egg noodles
12.3 oz (350 grams) of chicken breast
1/3 tsp of salt
1/3 tsp of baking soda
1/2 tbsp of Chinese cooking wine (Amazon Link - geni.us/Bhf1r)
Black pepper to taste
3 cloves of garlic, sliced thinly
1/2 inch of ginger, julienne
4 oz of carrot, julienne
1/2 of a red bell pepper, julienne
5 mushroom, sliced thinly
4 oz of snap peas
5 scallions
To Make The Sauce
1.5 tbsp of Soy sauce (Amazon Link - geni.us/5YFGa)
1 tbsp of dark soy sauce (Amazon Link - geni.us/DxB8)
1 tbsp of oyster sauce (Amazon Link - geni.us/nmsF8)
1 tbsp Hoisin sauce (Amazon Link - geni.us/ZAdyXZk)
1 tbsp of Chinese cooking wine (Amazon Link - geni.us/Bhf1r)
1/2 tbsp of pure Peanut butter (Amazon Link - geni.us/fbVrF)
1/2 cup of water
INSTRUCTIONS
Slice the chicken breast thinly. Marinade with garlic, ginger, salt, Chinese cooking wine, black pepper, and baking soda. Baking soda will break down the meat fibers and tenderize the chicken. It will give you that melt in your mouth texture.
Julienne the carrot, bell pepper. Slice the mushroom. Cut the scallions. To save time, you can buy a bag of pre-cut, mixed vegetables from the supermarket.
In a sauce bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients thoroughly. The peanut butter makes the sauce creamier and thicker, helps the flavor to wrap around the ingredients. You have to break up the peanut butter a little bit first so it doesn't clump up.
Bring a pot of water to a boil and cook the noodles until 80% done. Drain completely. Do not over cooked the noodles otherwise they will turn soggy when you finish them in the wok with that lomein sauce.
Meanwhile, turn the heat to high and heat your wok until smoking hot. Toss in the marinade chicken and stir for 2 minutes or until it just changes color. Add all the vegetables except for the scallions. continue to stir for 1 minute. Add the well-drained noodles along with the lomein sauce. Keep stirring over medium heat until all the sauce is absorbed. As soon as the sauce is gone, you have to turn off the heat. Otherwise the noodles will start sticking to the wok.
Add the scallions and serve.

Sometimes I have an existential crisis thinking about how lucky I am that I get to open my phone, and have a person from any place in the world teach me how to cook any dish in the world.
Just made this tonight for dinner. I'm now sitting here with a belly ache because it was so good I couldn't stop eating. Thank you for sharing your recipes, they are fantastic!

Iâm so glad I recently found you on CZcams. I bought the spices and sauces and made this dish tonight. It was amazing, as good as any excellent Chinese Restaurant. Thank you!
Thank you for always explaining everything very well.
I love the use of baking soda. It really makes a difference.
I use peanut butter for Asian recipes as well.
I made it with your homemade noodles in our wok and it was fantastic! The wok is the best we've ever bought!
Iâm a fan now! Love seeing your channel grow from just a small kitchen cooking channel to this! Great job!

I made this for dinner tonight. My husband and I LOVED it!!!! Thank you for a great recipe and wonderful directions!!!
Tried this recipe tonight and it was just beyond delicious! The peanut butter in the sauce really made it! My chicken is always moist and tender thanks to your trick! Thank you! đČđ
I have added peanut butter to chilli (cowboy chilli, lol) and I love how it thickens the sauce and gives another layer of flavor to the beans. But now I'm out of peanut butter! Can I skip the peanut butter or should I replace it with something else? What's a good substitute?!?
Thank you so much for the printable recipes too! I am so glad I found your channel!
We tried it last night and loved it! We were a bit worried because we don't have a high-end wok and often we end up with "too much juice" but we had no problems last night. The snap peas work really well and are delicious! Can really recommend this recipe.
Mandy, your channel is a gem!! Iâve made a few of your recipes and every one of them turned out very well!

WOW! That looks amazing. Will definitely be making this!

Mandy, this is the BEST lo mein recipe I've ever tried. The peanut butter was a HUGE game changer! Thank you so much for the tip!
This recipe changed my life lol. I have to bring this to every event now, I should have kept it between me and my partner but I shared it with some others and I get requests monthly to make it again.
I started with this recipe as a general jumping off point, but use corn starch and occasionally some shrimp paste. Do not fear the shrimp paste or msg it is a game changer!
Your Wok is one the best I have ever used. Liked it so much I bought one for my son to take to college. Cooks like a dream! Thanks for the recipe. Going to make this week for dinner.

Mindy, love your channel. I like that you put the ingredients in the info section. I like how you mention the difference between chow mien and low mien. I am a seasoned home cook and I love how you pass on little secrets about wok temps, why you add baking soda to the chicken marinade, or peanut butter to the sauce. I enjoy your presentation style you chose for your videos. You're a pro, I call it as I see it. I hope you have great success with your channel. God Bless you, stay safeđđ

Really in to stir frying in a wok lately. Looking forward to making this. I would use far more vegetables and less noodles, but that's just how I like my stir fry. This looks great.

That wok is amazing! I'm using it for around half a year now and I can honestly say it's so good it's almost magical! I will be trying this recipe soon! Thanks, Mandy! Both for the wok and amazing recipes!
I agree with Dawid Giemza! This youtube was excellently prepared with superb camera work! And, she took the time to include her recipe with the quantities of ingredients! A great help to me. I was able to copy the recipe which allowed me to prepare a shopping list, do the necessary shopping for the ingredients that she included and then follow her, step by step, as she prepared this meal. This was excellent entertainment! I am happy to subscribe! BTW, you do not have to make this in a wok! A hefty cast iron skillet will also work, but the meal will not taste as great! LOL! Per Dawid's remarks, Thanks, Mandy!
@ David Giemza : Could you please let me know the details of this wok? Is it available on Amazon? Thanks :)
Where can I get the wok?

The best part of these videos is watching you eat the food at the end. When I eat noodles I get them all over my face. How do you manage to not do that?
If you are using chopsticks,1st mouthful then do not slurp strongly and use the chopsticks to keep pushing the remaining noodles upward like she did.
Looks delicious!
Thank you for this great recipe
My husband and I are absolutely addicted to your videos. You're a phenomenal teacher! Looking forward to the chopsticks and cookbook. Gave you a 5 star review on Amazon for your wok.
Ooooooo, that looks sooo good!!! Here it is, not even 8am and while I don't feel hungry for breakfast I do want dinner! đđ€Łđ
I had to learn, ALWAYS have breakfast before watching Mandy's good food !
@@melviasheppard8466 my problem is that when I first wake up I can never eat right away, I will literally get sick. The feeling wears of after about an hour or two and that is when I will make myself some oatmeal, Cream of Wheat, toast with peanut butter, or just a bowl of cereal.
Watch her videos while eating. Otherwise you're just torturing yourself looking at ALL of the delicious food đ
@@melviasheppard8466 that's a great idea, I should do that. My problem is that as soon as I see she has a new video out I want to watch it right away, lol!

those exact chopsticks are available at most asian markets....
I must echo all of the adulations about this recipe!!! It is fantastic! My wife even loved it! Love your videos, love your recipes, LOVE you Mandy.
Looks great, I will try it.
Not only does she seem like a great cook, the recipes are easy and she tells you exactly what ingredients she is using. Where some other videos do not. So what good is that? Only thing about asian cooking is that they hardly use any chicken or meat. I need to have a lot more in my cooking of these recipes đđ
