- I was given the opportunity to experience authentic, rural Filipino life in the beautiful Island of Leyte. I was given 24 hours to dive head first into experiencing their daily lives by the Filipino coast. From fishing, coconut climbing and cooking and everything inbetween, we learn't how to live a true and beautiful life without the need for technology!

What I admired yours and Joshy's vlog is because you immerse yourselves in the local culture. Learning about the culture is more than just seeing the sights and eating the food. Visiting the sights is great but as they say, it’s about the journey and not the destination. Living like the locals, go to the places where locals go, trying the food that locals eat, and participating in activities that locals enjoy... probably have given you authentic and immersive experience.
Keep it up and your travels will take you on an authentic adventure and help you create those timeless memories! ❤

Those kids reminded when I was young my mother won't allowed us to be intervening with adult business especially if they are talking with visitor so we stayed out until the they are done. It's an old practice of the old folks and I see some parents did the same thing. I wish will always remind our children to do the same.

my French boss loves to eat escargot (snail). in his condo, he has this small tong that he uses to pull the snail meat out of its shell.
you can really experience Filipino hospitality from families in rural areas.
Yeah, that is true! We have clips to hold the shell too so it doesn’t go flying as it’s usually covered in butter and garlic.
That sounds very interesting and would have helped with getting the nails out as I was so bad at it 😅. And yes, the hospitality was so good in rural Philippines 🇵🇭 ❤️ thanks for watching as always man!

I just came across this video from my YT feed. I'm surprised by your sincerity to learn about our culture and way of living as Filipinos. While I appreciate all foreign vloggers who come to explore the Philippines, I must commend you for being the only vlogger I've encountered with such authenticity and sincerity to the locals. You are respectful and you are not afraid to get dirty as long as you get to TRULY EXPERIENCE our day to day lives. We, Filipinos , are known to be very hospitable and friendly to anyone. We would serve whatever we have to make our visitors feel welcomed. We may not have much to offer but we sure offer everything with all our heart.
You've earned your channel a new subscriber and I sure will be following your adventures.

@@kayyywild 🤣🤣 Yes, chicken alarm clocks are very common in provinces. Another thing, thank you as well for not letting the locals feel embarrassed. Just something to note, most of the times, locals tend to be very shy to visitors because we feel that we aren't presentable enough to entertain visitors, may it be a fellow Filipino visitor or foreigner. You and Josh were so 'into it' eating the grilled fish with your bare hands and the coconut meat. You appreciated the efforts of the locals especially Kingking's mom. That big faucet you were pumping was water from the deep well- all from nature. I somehow envy you, I miss doing these stuff as I've been away from my country for some time.
You might also want to ask help from locals who can help translate our local language to you. Not to disrespect, but I feel you would be more engaged with the locals when you have a full understanding of what they're saying. You might be surprised at how funny some of us really are! 😂

As “the village people have changed your life”, you have been anointed with a laurel wreath, the Greek-like crown, though crudely made and not real laurel.
What struck me in all the forms of the folks’ hospitality was when the couple offered you their prized makeshift bed, and themselves opted to sleep on the floor. It’s textbook Filipino hospitality.
I haven’t experienced such village life. I was born, raised and educated in Iloilo City, central west of the Philippines, and partly in Makati City and Greenhills, San Juan, Metro Manila.
