I am 50. I have not been successful in love, and I had regrets: deep ones. I also gave my heart, unwittingly (as I think of it now) to the Pet Shop Boys back in 1988. And as the tears well up in my eyes (as this song plays in my earphones), I now know what a great success I had been in love, for loving the Pet Shop Boys is enough! PSB fans can never fail in love: the most successful lovers, them !

Such a wonderful, touching melody. The lyrics are very moving too - reminiscing the past when you were young, a time you can't bring back. Masterpiece. Reminds me of Reqiuem in denim and leopardskin.

Thank you for that lovely heartfelt message. I didn't know what Le Petites Bon Bons meant other than little sweets. After reading the comment you made I tried finding out more. From what I can glean it appears it was a collective of conceptual artists that existed in the 1970s. The collective was influenced by David Bowie and other glam rock artists and identified with the gay liberation movement. I am sorry if I have got anything wrong and I am happy to be corrected. How wonderful that you were part of this collective and that you haven't gone anywhere. Best wishes.
