Lyrics:
[Verse]
Change your heart, look around you
Change your heart, it will astound you
I need your loving like the sunshine
[Chorus]
And everybody's got to learn sometime
Everybody's got to learn sometime
Everybody's got to learn sometime, mmm
[Verse]
Change your heart, look around you
Change your heart, it will astound you
I need your loving, mmm, like the sunshine
[Chorus]
And everybody's got to learn sometime
Everybody's got to learn sometime
Everybody's got to learn sometime

And everybody's got to learn sometime
Everybody's got to learn sometime

Few songs like this can make you feel so sad, nostalgic and happy at the same time.
Obra de arte, inmortal.
That's right!!

It is WOW!🙂😉
❤
The 70' s and 80' s where the best time of my life. Wish I had a Time Machine.❤😢
We all feel the same way but what can we do
If you get one, I beg you, find me and take with you. I have a conversation to finish.

Totally agree. For me too.
Why hasn't this song got a million likes it's a classic
In the industry the call it overrating: they stretch small pop music for weeks until it becomes a success, while more serious pop music does not reach the radio and the charts. That is how was after 1945 that is how wll remain at least till the next 5 years until will be overcast by artificial intelligence music. Take care yourself and the people you love.

⬆️⬆️what a rubbish pseudo intellectual word salad you’ve just written⬆️⬆️ a classic song is a classic song and is as unique and subjectively beautiful albeit it being to 10 or 50,000 people, simple! Your mumbo jumbo typical smartarse CZcams comment has got right up my nose!
It's nice but there's nothing to it. Repetitive and derivative.

This song reminds me of my Dad's passing in 2018... I cry every time I hear this
After more than 43 years the song still remains timeless unlike the garbage of today
I couldn’t have said it better!
Yep, the autotuned crap that all sounds the same where you can't tell one 'song' from the other as the lyrics are meaningless and the so called singer can't even hold a note. Give me 60s ,70s and 80s stuff anyway. Pure talent.
y'all are clearly not trying hard enough to find good music out there and it's so sad
There are some good musicians out ere u just have to look.... not just except the recycled greats... and new rubbish that there putting out
Has emotion, heart and soul..❤...takes the listener on a musical tapestry😇😊..has an effect on the inner self, unlike the soul less bilge' of today🥺
This is no bull.
The guy playing the violin is Stuart Gordon. His mother, Joyce, originally married to Jim Gordon (deceased far too early) was my Dad's cousin. The family ran a funeral director's business in Bedlington, the premises are still there but under another name. Stuart died just over 9 years ago. He was one of the finest composers and session musicians ever to walk this planet. He has a twin brother Keith and a sister Christine, whereabouts of both I'm not sure. We used to visit them at the family business and being totally incompetent in anything musical, i was blown away by their ability to pick up virtually any instrument and create magic. Stuart was in many bands, The Korgis, The Shortwave Band and many others I can't recall. I still have an original vinyl of The Shortwave Band from 1975.
Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely forgot about this gem, I’m now 63 young.
I'm 26. But I already understand that I will be old one day, and remember my past with a longing.
64 now and it's been ages since I heard this song.
Don’t be weird. Just say you’re 63 if you’re scared of getting old. You never get asked how young are you? Just say old ffs.
I hit 63 this month. This song takes me back. But I don't want to actually go back. Moving forward for better or worse. Still remember my first 9 years in the UK. The rest is now down under. Cheers.
@@andrewleah1983 old……….hope that makes you feel better 👍
Was listening to an interview by lead singer James Warren ,and he said at the time he was getting into Buddhism, and that the song isn't a love song ,but it's about trying to sort out his inner turmoil, and look at the world through different eyes ,and learning about the different meanings of life and the universe.
In a similar vein to George Harrison who said that he got Christians to sing hallelujah at the beginning then switching to Hare Krishna at the end of My Sweet Lord.
@@22pcirishMy sweet Lord is one of my favourite songs. 👍
Makes complete sense

Went to a party in the 1980s and a young fella kept requesting this so he could slow dance with me. Great times.
I wonder if you still remember his name and what happened to him after that? Did you keep in touch?
@@quayevano I'm also looking forward to an update 🙂
I, too, am looking for an update.
44 years later, still a master piece!!!!
Glad the algorithm can peer into my mind and help me figure out that song I liked back in 1984. Deep shit.

If Melancholy came in a bottle then this would be it!! Superb.
Even to me, being too young to know it (like 4 yr old by that time). It has the same spirit as songs from 3-4 years later that I do remember and just as amazing or even more.
Nice. Got a very 10cc feel to it.
True. It does. Like their great 1975 hit "I'm Not in Love." Both songs are classics now. 😊
Hadn't heard this on decades. Heard it today driving through the medieval town of Beverley. Seemed perfect.
One of the most astoundingly brilliant products of instinctual, spontaneous, near-instantaneous songwriting in the history of popular music
I AM AGREE.
I remember this song. It was so beautiful and haunting.
Well I was 24 in 1980, but this song and lyrics made a big impact on my life! Just listen !
Mine and Tony Blackburn's favourite! This was my favourite Single from 1980 - was never off my turntable throughout the Summer of that year! I had a hard time getting a copy; sold out everywhere I went... I was so excited when I came out of the shop with it - I ran all the way home!
To the non musically trained this song sounds quite simplistic, but wow how amazingly complex the harmonies are, it's just beautiful. Very talented composer and performers. I love this song.
there are two versions of this song. This one has the keyboard, but I've encountered another version which I think had an orchestra. This was not a live version either!
❤❤❤ after so many years and we go back to almost half century, this song remains in my ❤️ forever. With this song the Korgis always will be a Legend❤
This resonates strong with this 80’s boy. 50 years old now.
I'm 44 born in 1980. How would you be 50? 😂
Heard lead singer James Warren talking about the meaning of the song ,saying,"at that time, he was just getting into Buddhism ,so the song wasn't a love song ,but it was about trying to sort out his inner turmoil and looking at the world through different eyes".
The first time I heard this song was at a cemetery, I was visiting folks and this song came on the radio,Made me see how insignificant we really are and how circumstances can change in tthe blink of an eye. wonderful song..
Still gives me a thrill listening to the hauntingly beautiful music since it was first played.
I'd forgotten all about this haunting gem.
☮
Great song back then - still a great song now in 2024 - lovely melody, arrangement and great lyrics. We never had it so good in the 50s to 80s when it came to bands and musicians creating music
Less blacks too.
Total spiritual message, this song can change your life.
One of 1980's master pieces, I give 1,000,000 yesses.
Wonderful to see all the comments on here this beautiful song obviously resonates for so many reasons too so many people be it good or bad sad or happy a true classic ❤
I first heard this song when my father and I moved into a new house. New house, new great song; what could be better??
I wasn't aware of this song until I heard it on MeTV radio in my car yesterday. I'm Gen X and love '80s synthy music, so I'm puzzled as to why this great song escaped me for so long. It wasn't even on my Dad's old mix tapes that he taped off the radio. Well, better late than never! Thanks for posting this! 😎

I wasn't aware of it until 5 minutes ago, and I'm 44.
This really resonates with my 15yrold self, just left school after years of bullying and striking out on my own. The lyrics tapped straight into what I was going through at the time.
Magic.
Original was the best never been bettered a fantastic wonderful song thankyou korkis
I haven't heard this song for many years but it popped up on my You Tube feed today, so hey voila! here I am. I first heard it in late 1980 as a 15 y.o. in Melbourne, Australia. It really is a wonderful, simple soulful and melancholic yet uplifting tune. An intriguingly pleasant mix.
Still here 2024 ❤
The future we live in overcomplicated simplicity. Beautiful, absolutely overflowing with beauty...
I thought this was an old song, I was just young at the time.
I was 17yrs old love it

I was haunted by it when it was out. Now, it just brings back so many moods and memories. I don't know if those times were better, but they are definitely gone.

This is indeed a timeless classic. The 1980's-- the best!
Beck and Eternal sunshine of the spotless minds bring me here 🙂

Wow - what a blast from the past!
Wow, i thought this song was my favourite Beck Song, I couldn't find it on any of his albums - probably one of my favourite songs ever - and now I've just discovered the Korgis!
Something that's applicable to yourself, not always someone else. This has always stayed with me.
I just watched a movie & this song featured in the soundtrack. Took me back. I had to come here & listen to it again.❤
Everybody's got to learn sometime. Says it all really. Great song.
I was in a synth pop band in early 80’s in Kent Ohio. We loved the Korgis. We did a good cover of Dumb Waiters.
Sensational track.
Love this ❤80's were amazing 👏 😊
Música para ouvir no silêncio da madrugada!!
Just heard the Korgis on BBC Breakfast and had to hear this again. So beautiful. Takes me back to doing my O’Levels !
Great song! Memories of our 9th grade school camp on an island in 1980.
I wonder why we aren't able to produce such artefact in music these days
Lack of creative conviction.

Such a beautiful song, I was only 9 years old listening to this on the radio, thankyou guys.

I used to sing this to my baby when he was born, it always made him nod off
ANOTHER TIMELESS CLASSIC!! 80'S MUSIC RULES!! the dj
That bass-slide midway through the song is superb - as is the word’s shortest guitar solo that occurs twice throughout!
One Almighty Standout Classic From These Amazing Artists.
Supreme Vocals Combined With Brilliant Musicality.
Cheers 🍻 👏 ✌️ For This Magical Memory. ❤❤❤.
Definitely Remember this tune! Otherwordly, Orchestral, Unique and Unexpected nuances - maybe everyone here has a similiar interpretation that when you are younger it's much easier to change your heart and let's face it the Love comes much easier! When I was 20 this was the reality now over 60-not so easy to change your heart and Love is so much harder! Maybe the message is being able to reflect and learn that Love and the Good times are invaluable and should be treasured! Not at all surprised at this type of musical genius in the U.K. - it just seems to have this astonishing talent reservoir!Cheers fron Canada!
I remember listening to this song on cassette the summer I graduated from high school. Still sounds good...
Those long, haunting keyboard chords...
Wonderful
Un tema para escuchar en la soledad de una habitación y alejarse del mundanal ruido y poder pensar en esa soledad acompañado de esos acordes y con la magnífica interpretación de ese vocalista.
An absolute classic
Such a emotional song much better than the soulless rubbish of today thanks for the download someone said this is 43 years old sounds so relevant for 2day
This was a 'beatles' moment in England 1980, I remember it well I was 15/16. Thank you Korgis!!!
What a truly beautiful song
How have I never heard of this band or this song? I’m an 80’s kid
They also did "if I had you" which is also brilliant
What do you mean by 80s kid? Were you born in the 80s?
Wow, what a beautiful song, how songs still surprise me
A haunting yearning and warning song.
I don't know if this guy is as talented as Mark Hollis (Talk Talk), but this song is a work of genius.
My thoughts exactly, there's so much of a likeness between them.
This just come up on my YT feed. Very vague recollection of this (I was 8 at the time, but that was the age I started to have a single a week from my parents). I was thinking the same about Mark Hollis. His head movements are similar. I could imagine Mark singing this
I’m pretty sure he isn’t but I know what you mean.
Wow very good song and video!! Thank you for sharing.
Absolutely fantastic song. The Korgis were at their best with this ballad. It's so haunting and mesmerising. Great to see it uploaded in HD. The other big hit "I f I had you" was just as good as this. Many thanks for uploading.

Agree “ If I had you” was good but can’t agree it is in this class. In the very unlikely event I had to pick 8 Desert Island Discs , this would be one.
A beautifully crafted classic..Love it..
I was 15 when this song was in the charts and I was scared for the future....
Heard this last night while watching the Enforcer movie with Antonio Banderas. It's a violent movie, but the theme of it was reflected in the song, which was played at the conclusion in the last scene of the movie. That's what brought me here. Though I don't recall ever hearing this song before last night, it is now on my favorite list.
Same here. The Enforcer.
I was also watching the Enforcer. I had heard the song before, but now I get the name for it. 😮

I was born in 1980…but this song is very familiar from other people playing through the years. It’s really touching me to hear it properly. Simpler times…

Indémodable et restera toujours dans l’air du temps 👍
Une chanson qui m'a marqué. Très bon souvenir et très bon groupe
Used so well in Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind.
This music is a perfect example that we make it so good with few instruments and simple melody. But as my dad always say "This is simple right ? ... But we have to find it"
What a masterpiece ♥️ 🎶
Simply superb.
