Given he hired ham, scapegoated Vogel (who with a good defensive roster was damn good coach for my pacers and lakers & where he prob wins b2b title in 21 if AD/Bron healthy), didn’t hire Lue, gave away Carsuo, KCP, DeRozan (for Westbrook as lowballed DD yrs wise to “match LeBrons contract”…also wouldn’t allow Lue to hire his own assistant coaches?), Jaquez Jr or Cam Whitmore in 1st rd (or trade pick for best defensive guard/wing or defensive/rebounding big available or sniper shooter…LeBron 39% 3s rest of lakers 28% when if just 35% they win series or def go 7… if they shoot better and rebound better period), GG Jackson or Jackson Davis (vs Max Lewis). Even passin on Tatum plus givin away Lopez & Zubac Pelinka was GM (even if Magic was technically president). Rob deserves credit for 19-20 20-21 roster but outside of that he’s been BAD. No GM is perfect/infallible, but Lakers should throw as much money as possible at an elite/proven GM like Presti (Thunder) Myers (Warriors 2011-2021 who of course you would take in a heartbeat as overall he’s HOF nominee dope with who he drafted overall + Kerr + Iggy + Wiggins…not perfect for sure though everyone thought Wiseman at the time was pick or at least large majority), Connelly (Nuggets hired Malone, drafted Jokic Murray MPJ and traded for AG so their 4 best players…also last 2yrs for Wolves traded for Gobert, Conley, NAW who have been 3 big pieces for them to make them 55 win type team this year and even last year they took Wolves 5 with McDaniels Naz Reid both out!). Also I get LeBron is old, but “on his way out of the league” not close to true to me given he was a top6-12 player all year and in the Playoffs was overall elite top2-6 guy. LeBron Jokic Ant are the only 3 players so far in playoffs with Game Score of 24+ and 10+ BPM (both elite numbers). He was also 3rd most PPG in 4th (9.8 PPG in 4th behind only Maxey 10.3 & Ant 10.5). Bron Murray Ant the only 3 guys who had at least 8 made shots and 2+ made 3s in the 4th in games within 5 points (“clutch time”) while making at least 65% FG% on those shots and 50%+ 3P% on those shots! 1991 MJ & 2024 Bron only playoff years EVER to avg 27+ 8+ 6+ 2+spg 1+ bpg on 50+ FG% & 38+ 3P%! It you make that 1+ spg instead of 2+ it only adds 2023 Jokic! LeBron is top5 in Playoffs in STL% (#1 spg), AST% (4th in apg behind only Jokic Haliburton Brunson Luka and if other Lakers shoot 35+% from 3 instead of 28%🤢🤮 then he’s prob number 1 as he’s 8.8 and Jokic #1 9.8), 9th in PPG (3rd in 4th), 23rd in BPG, 5th in PER, 2nd in VORP behind only Jokic, T2nd in BPM (with Ant behind Jokic who is clear #1), tied for 5th in most clutch PPG, 12th in TS% & WS/48, #1 in RAPTOR, 3rd in EPM. Could he fall off a cliff at some point bc of age/milage/health? For sure, but based on this year alone (even though he clearly still has to conserve energy where he can which is more reason why Pelinka should be gone as he’d be able to do that more with Ty Lue, Caruso, KCP, DeRozan, Zubac, Lopez, Jaquez Jr/Cam/DFS type, GG Jackson or TJD etc.) by nearly every metric LeBron was a top6-10 player in NBA. Even if he falls to top10-15 or 15-20 range that’s still top 96-97% percentile of the 450 players in NBA. It’s why ppl scoffing at LeBron getting 3yrs 164 million makes me laugh. Every player who is top1-25 player in NBA for most part gets max type money. It is what it is. PS LeBron should be 28-32 mpg and could be like Duncan Spurs but roster not nearly good enough (around him or AD).
Finally, best news after being eliminated in the playoffs. Call me crazy but I think the new coach should Start a more natural SG, in Max Christi , he brings size and defense and can shoot. And Austin off the bench and create a bench mob, and a identity , same way @sacramento has in Malik Monk.
I do feel bad for Darvin Ham.. I mean its his first head coaching job and he has to coach a Lebron team with a lot of expectations. He got a lot of heat. BUT with that said, as a casual, even I noticed a lot of things frustrating this year. His head coaching record is good so I hope it doesn't stray his career. Wish him all the best.
We haven't had a Consistent Head Coach since Dr. Buss passed in 2013!!! I think Jeanie needs to allow Joey & Jesse to take over The Basketball 🏀 Operations.
Why? Assuming Darvin ham was running the same system since he coached under bud the learning curve for the players will be minimal, he’s won a championship so assuming he know how to use timeouts and players better. He’ll be Darvin ham except without all the things we’ve been complaining about darvin ham lol
Pelinka sucks at picking coaches….it should have been Atkinson over Ham, it should have been Lue over Vogel….pelinka just doesn’t want to acquiesce power and roster decisions.
If you have a talented roster including 2 superstars, and fall short b2b years, it makes sense to assume the coach isn’t getting the most out of the talent he has.
Maybe the problem is the person who has two jobs. Their decision to blow up a championship team and rebuild and has failed year after year since then with missing the playoffs, trading a young core for an incompatible point gaurd, not going out and getting AD and supporting centre, getting swept and bounced first round. Come on man!

I think the Lakers should hire Rondo as an Assistant Coach. Him and Handy supporting whoever the new coach is would be insanely cool! Mebe Reddick as well! Groom those lads for the future!
I'm totally against bringing a Rookie coach Again,, that's enough!!! We need someone with more experience and a big personality to take over the team...
I think it’s true that AD plays his best at 4.. Look at the Bubble. He was a PROBLEM with Dwight at the 5.. He’s a Tim Duncan mid range player. We need to focus on bringing in a true 5 so AD can dominate.
The Lakers Organization needs to do their homework this time around. Multiple rounds of interviews, ask questions on Coaching scenarios, put them in the film room, the locker room, maybe even a bunch of press questions. AND PLEASE, for the love of god, get rid of that stupid rule about previously being a Laker. Its not working Jeanie.
Once again the Lakers keep looking for that shiny new object…. a new coach. This team will continue to suck until they get a decent GM instead of the Kobe toady, and tell Lebron his “GM” days are over. Every place he’s left has been a dumpster fire and I hear the fire alarm going off now.
Finally!!!!! Jeannie and Rob have to make the right hires and decisions regarding retooling the team. The Lakers need a proven coach with experience and neither Rajon or J.J. have these qualifications. Rob is probably on the clock now.
We need a big to help AD battle with the likes of Jokic, Sabonis, Zubac, Nurkic and Gobert. Move LeBron to small forward. Some believe that LeBron is too slow to play small forward. Nevertheless we will not win a championship with AD and LeBron as our bigs because LeBron doesn’t play like a big. Until we pick up a reliable big center we will not get through the western gauntlet of big centers. It doesn’t matter who coaches us.
If those are the options, then instead of bud and mark jackson it should be terry stoks and mark Jackson because Darvin used to be the assistant coach under bud so they’re coaching are practically the same.
Slide Lebron to the 1. Go get a real center, and slide AD to the 4. Then have DLo and Reaves playing off ball on offense. Handy as Head Coach, Rondo as assistant
If they are gonna hire a first time head coach like a Rondo, JJ Redick, Phil Handy or even a Becky Hammon, they should at least pair them with an experienced head coach like when they hired Frank Vogel. The 2020 championship coaching staff was loaded with former head coaches like Jason Kidd, Alvin Gentry and many more. Even when you look around the league the other team's assistant coaches are loaded with former head coaches unlike what the Lakers had this season.

JJ Redick!!!!!!😂 it’s a joke guys lol. But I would like to see the Lakers interview an assistant from Miami. Probably the one that has been with Spoelstra the longest but idk who that is lol
Just a quick review. Darvin Ham's personal best over 8 NBA seasons was 5.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, less than 1 steal and less than 1 block per game. He was a career .250% from beyond the arc. As an NBA player, he wasn't elite and wasn't a clever Captain Kirk on the bench to guide the Lakers to greatness. Perhaps somebody with a proven gift for the game as a more elite NBA player might better steer the Lakers to a championship.
So often Darvin's face looked like he was frozen/scared during games... or like a kid who is in over his head on a test he has no clue how to answer Any of the questions on. Retain Bron DLo Max TP: Resign DLo to team friendly trade-able contract w less money per year, but more years. If needed, they can trade him. 3. Center: Get a REAL Strong, bruiser DEFENSIVE and REBOUNDING BACKUP CENTER that can be affective against bigger teams. DO NOT go for the shiny toy AGAIN. MOST, including this channel, were enamored by Wood who gave almost nothing. While a few of said HELL NO get a center that is known for STRONG DEFENSE and that is their strength NOT the POTENTIAL offense. And now, suddenly those that were all in on Wood are saying it is a primary NEED to go with the opposite. Ya, WE WARNED YOU. Buha was one of the only analysts who was not blinded by the false pie-in-sky promise of Wood. Use Wood in a package to get a real center. PG Backup: Use Vincent and/or Dinwiddie and a low pic if needed, to go after Caruso. *Use Rui/DLo/JHS/Picks and anything LOWER tier to go after 3rd star. This does NOT have to be a Superstar. Go after a star that has a reasonable salary, that could be flipped later if needed, and one where you DONT HAVE TO GUT THE TEAM. NOT TRAE YOUNG, he is neither a SUPERSTAR, NOR DOES he have a traceable contract, his contract is LOW VALUE, and for a 1WAY PLAYER. Lakers have a problem with bigger teams, NOT JUST DENVER. ALL the bigger teams will destroy him. Lakers have been great against the smaller teams, in which case renders Trae barely an upgrade and ONLY in scoring/Ball Handling, not even in terms of FG or 3PT, he gets beat there. *Give Castleton the 15th spot, on a real contract, not 2way, so they can actually develop him and get him accustomed to NBA playing. This would be a minimum contract. No Need to "save" that spot only to never use it, or on a player that isn't really needed and/or doesn't have near the potential
Remember kept telling Laker fans what’s the difference between ham and Vogel? They guarantee huge difference 😂 They’re both assisting coaches at the very best. It’s why both will be fired this week. ***hire Delonte West

No GM is perfect/infallible, but Lakers should throw as much money as possible at an elite/proven GM like
Presti (Thunder) Myers (Warriors 2011-2021 who of course you would take in a heartbeat as overall he’s HOF nominee dope with who he drafted overall + Kerr + Iggy + Wiggins…not perfect for sure though everyone thought Wiseman at the time was pick or at least large majority), Connelly (Nuggets hired Malone, drafted Jokic Murray MPJ and traded for AG so their 4 best players…also last 2yrs for Wolves traded for Gobert, Conley, NAW who have been 3 big pieces for them to make them 55 win type team this year and even last year they took Wolves 5 with McDaniels Naz Reid both out!).
PS
LeBron should be 28-32 mpg and could be like Duncan Spurs but roster not nearly good enough (around him or AD).
Finally, best news after being eliminated in the playoffs. Call me crazy but I think the new coach should Start a more natural SG, in Max Christi , he brings size and defense and can shoot. And Austin off the bench and create a bench mob, and a identity , same way @sacramento has in Malik Monk.
Correct, Austin Reaves better of the bench aka Manu Ginobili.
I love Trevor cheesin in the thumbnail 😂
😂😂😂
Teams have stopped trying to replicate the warriors template. Let’s get a true center and a true shooter off the bench
Mark Jackson
I do feel bad for Darvin Ham.. I mean its his first head coaching job and he has to coach a Lebron team with a lot of expectations. He got a lot of heat. BUT with that said, as a casual, even I noticed a lot of things frustrating this year. His head coaching record is good so I hope it doesn't stray his career. Wish him all the best.
Lakers= highly critical job and championship or bust. He will get another chance
We haven't had a Consistent Head Coach since Dr. Buss passed in 2013!!! I think Jeanie needs to allow Joey & Jesse to take over The Basketball 🏀 Operations.
Budenholzer candidacy scares the living piss out of me
Lol 😂😂 facts
Don't be scare, at least Budenholzer's more experience than you or idiotic jj reddick, right?
Yeah fuck that lol
I like him he was multiple number 1 seeds and he will play 2 bigs
Why? Assuming Darvin ham was running the same system since he coached under bud the learning curve for the players will be minimal, he’s won a championship so assuming he know how to use timeouts and players better. He’ll be Darvin ham except without all the things we’ve been complaining about darvin ham lol
Unless we doing a full rebuild it makes zero sense to have JJ as HC. I can see him as an assistant to a win now team tho.
💯
I wouldn't hire the guy regardless.
Pelinka sucks at picking coaches….it should have been Atkinson over Ham, it should have been Lue over Vogel….pelinka just doesn’t want to acquiesce power and roster decisions.
Vogel won them a championship
Mark Jackson is great for the present and greater for the post LeBron era.
Budenholzer was not good, the bucks won in spite of him, just like the Lakers won in spite of vogel.
Lues has really nothing on Vogel.
Why not get rid of Rob and get Bob Myers
Darvin gonna make 10mil sitting on his ass. He will be totally fine
Rondo, Reddick! No! 🤦🤦🤦
No Juwan, or Rasdeed either.
@@blessi360 Facts!!
No one on this roster could play defense 😂… how is this a talented roster 😂
@@wills.9422 AD and Lebron are absolute superstars. They have shooting, they have role players. They have talent, period. AD is a top tier anchor to a defense too. They should be far better than a play in team

Lakers should just hire a coach with 2 years contract. They fired their coach every two years anyway.
Yup
He should have never been fired. But he should have never been hired by a championship contender with a 2-4 year window to win. He perform exactly how I would expect a rookie coach to perform. That's on Rob
Well said
Facts
Championship contender? The team was 33-49 when he took over 😂 boy do these fans have amnesia lol
THIS!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly
Rondo will be a great addition as an assistant coach.
What a shame... Darvin didn't do a great job, but the full fledged mutiny that was started by his players was shameful ... DLO and Reeves weren't playing well at the start of the year and deserved to lose minutes. Most likely DLO started the problems and it spread to the entire team.... No way he should be back under any circumstances...
JJ is NOT a good choice 😳
Correction, THEY DID NOT MAAKE MISTAKE 4 YEARS AGO, we got a ring coached by Frank. Yes, I agree to grab Ty Lue if he is available.. How about that super high IQ Rajan Rondo? He would be an excellent coach. Thwt way things going in front office, they might go for Doc Rivers LMFAO
I think the Lakers should hire Rondo as an Assistant Coach. Him and Handy supporting whoever the new coach is would be insanely cool! Mebe Reddick as well! Groom those lads for the future!
Mark Jackson is the right guy for this job. He will hold Lebron and everyone accountable
I'm totally against bringing a Rookie coach Again,, that's enough!!!
We need someone with more experience and a big personality to take over the team...
The ONLY, ONLY reason the Lakers was hiring Darvon Hamm was because we tried to influence / lure Giannis Antrtokounmpo to LA. That isbit, point blank.
Ron is a dolt for saying "there's not much difference between playing center and power forward 🤦🏽♂️
Look at AD's dominance and numbers at the 4 when he played with Cousins and Dwight n McGee
EXACTLY
Imagine how much easier the Nuggets would've been to defend if we didn't need to have AD on him at all times.
@@improbablyyourdad8458I like to draft Zach Eddy if available or move up and get him he is what is needed
That 2020 team would have won against nuggets even without KCP
Bud or Mark Jackson l. We need some defensive tenacity and accountability.
Also need a true rebounding /defensive big.forget Trae Young
If those are the options, then instead of bud and mark jackson it should be terry stoks and mark Jackson because Darvin used to be the assistant coach under bud so they’re coaching are practically the same.
Neither.
You gotta leave Lue alone. He's already said no. He's already in a committed relationship. This is stalkerish
Kenny Atkinson is the only answer.
The Coach does not matter if you cannot defend the perimeter, make 3’s, and rebound.
Slide Lebron to the 1. Go get a real center, and slide AD to the 4. Then have DLo and Reaves playing off ball on offense. Handy as Head Coach, Rondo as assistant
What’s a real center?
DLO and AR can't be both playing at the same time, defensive liabilities.
@@fattony9227 AR isn’t a defensive liability, and DLO should be out of here as soon as possible
Did you ever see him coach Ham with a pencil and a paper in his hand draw a explaining X and O’s telling his Players how to execute a drawing a plan tell people where to go-and make plays
I’m waiting for answers
🤔 hmmm
I am waiting

Great point, hands always in his pockets whenever they lose he goes " you got to tip your hat to those guys thats a hell of a ballclub right there".
We can't defend him.
The only time I can think of was when he was playing tic tac toe
Hands in pockets
Who cares , we were 33-49 b4 he arrived , he did something right
@@wills.9422you can go with him, you’ve been off the mark all season and your dragging lakers nation iq down with all due respect

And as a Lakers fan for 32 years I can say this AD/LBJ run should have at the least Two championships.Any real fan Knows the Front office failed to make the moves to put them in position to Win

I wonder if Rob Pelinka will get fired. He should go too. Go after Bob Myers!!! Becky Hammon as Head Coach
At this point Jeannie will appoint herself to coach because she has run out of family/friends/close associates she can hire.
It doesn’t matter who they get if Lebron is unwilling to adjust his role and cooperate with the coach in a respectful way we will be right back here again I’m extremely disappointed in how this played out.
Vogels staff was way better (on Backstage Lakers Show) Vogels assistants appeared Way more active/involved than Pocket's assistant coaches
I honestly believe that rob need to be held accountable too! I know a lot of us want bob myers I think Jeanie too close to rob and need to break ties… if you clearing the house of ALL LAKERS COACH ROB DEFINITELY NOT EXEMPT FROM BEING FIRED TOO!!!
man can't believe as celtics fan that I've been following this channel lately.... yea front office show listener here, but Trevor's such a great reporter that have to follow him even here lol
Why doesn’t anybody talk about Ham and his ridiculous 3 guard lineups or 4 guard lineups ? No wonder we can’t get stop any off rebounds 🤯🤯🤯
Lakers need a cerebral head coach who dressed for success. No more of these warm up suits guys who are better suited for the college game.
🤔Robert Horry - Followed him as Lakers games analyst & seems like he might be a great possibility as the LAKERS Coach🙂
We are a trash ORG. Disrespected Magic and disrespecting the memory of Jeri.
Real question is how many different coaches will have while Lebron is here?
Vogel and Ham are good coaches and Management did them dirty.
Finally fired Luke when Magic quit and that’s what he wanted to do.
Magic try to help after and they went against his help and we got Westbrick.
Lakers Fan forever, but Controlling Owner and GM the problem. 👍🏿👍🏾👍🏽👍🏼👍🏻👍
@Lakers nation stop reading fans comment that's disrespectful calling ham dumb is low and uncalled for! Its not like any of you or these fans have professional coaching experience, wanting him gone is one thing but reading disrespectful comments should be beneath your platform!
Rando is the i q player head coach yes
New Lakers coach and Clippers 114-101 vs. Mavericks very good
The clippers lost the game vs. Mavericks
If Ty was coaching the lakers and not clippers he would already be fired. They have been worse than the lakers since he took over and have more assets.
I'd like to see Mark Jackson get a shot.
Poor Phil handy, he will never get that shot for lakers hc, he deserves a chance
I wonder what kind of things came up in their season review with Ham 🤔
JJ is the best fit as HC for the Lakers. 💜💛
20 Million for two years work? I ain't worried about Ham's future happiness.
Wishlist Priorities, Ranked
1. Coaching: Ham Fired. Hire Ty Lue or Kenny Atkinson. Hire/Keep JJ, Rondo, Handy as assistant coaches.
Lue with Rondo as an assistant
I want to see them give Phil handy a shot
Lakers need to hire experience. Was a little shocked they fired everyone but clearly players asked for it.
I agree AD is a 4 (PF) and Lebron is a point guard! He won the championship playing point and lead the league in assists that year.
Remember kept telling Laker fans what’s the difference between ham and Vogel?
They guarantee huge difference 😂
They’re both assisting coaches at the very best. It’s why both will be fired this week.
***hire Delonte West
Hire Rondo. He can smoke all the weed he wants in CA. He understands the game, he knows how to slice and dice a team.
AD should play the 5 90% of the time but they HAVE to get a bruiser big like Jonas to 1, play alongside AD for stretches depending on matchups and 2, be a starting caliber center in case AD goes down.
Make sure we have Rondo on the coaching staff
Lakers have not recovered from letting KCP go.
To take the devil's advocate, instead of recruiting Lue, what if the Clippers are keeping Lue and use it to recruit Lebron to the Clippers? Lebron could stay in LA. Clips are an already well built team. Balmer would love to ring in a new stadium with a show stopper like Lebron and make a run to a championship. And Balmer has money and doesn't care of going over the salary cap. Thoughts??
We need another good big, especially with Lebron regressing on defense and rebounding.
Mark Jackson, Avery Johnson, Ty lue if available, JJ Redick (with a very experienced coaching staff) or who knows maybe someone from Denver's coaching staff
Did inexperience Steve Nash (with experience Jacque Vaughn, Adam Harrington, Jordan Ott) help with the Nets?
This Is Not On The Coaching That He Was Giving It Was REALLY More So Some Of The Players That We Had On Our Team
I wouldnt mind mark jackson
