    One of the biggest mistakes the Lakers made was letting go of the twin towers Mcgee & Howard after the championship. These 2 centers let AD be a non-banging 4.

    • @hieroglyphy6181
      @hieroglyphy6181 Před měsícem +5

      The nerds were on a mission to promote AD at the 5. It was almost like LeBron handling the ball and AD at the 4 did not win a championship.
      LeBron and AD have been at their best (from a team winning standpoint) with AD at the 4.
      AD at the 4 and a defensive PG is the best way they will compete with Denver.
      The nerds will poo poo it, but F them. We have listened to their BS for long enough.

      @@jonb2756 Mcgee and Dwight were a team with their minutes. In 2020 McGee averaged 7 points, 6 reb, and 1.4 block, Dwight averaged 8 points, 7 rebounds and 1.2 block. So, at center they averaged 15 points 13 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. It took 2 players to get those numbers, but that's not bad.

    A few observations:
    #1. We need a fresh young head coach, not a retread who's 50+ years old. The OKC Thunder's head coach is only 39 and he's been great.
    #2. Whoever we get needs to give Max Christie at least 20 mpg. If he's not playing well after 20 or so games then his minutes can always be reduced, but he needs to finally get a fair chance to showcase his talents and prove his worth.
    #3. We definitely need to get rid of Vincent and Reddish. Maybe keep Wood and/or Hayes if we can afford them. Keep Taurean Prince - he's a solid bench scorer.

      @Foggycallabasashillshelicopter Před měsícem

      No max needs to play 20 mpg for 82 games. The only reason AR is as good as he is, is because Vogel let him play every game with consistent minutes without pulling him for mistakes. Max hasn’t played a lick in the nba cause of ham, you think he’s just gonna be good in 20 games? No, play him for 2 seasons straight, develop him, and then decide if he’s worth it or not. Not 20 games…….. your as bad as Ham. Also reddish and Vincent have absolutely 0 value rn, it would be in our interest to keep them for now…..

    The fact Pelinka isn’t gone with Ham and 100% of Lakers fans aren’t callin for his head is crazy to me. Given he hired ham, scapegoated Vogel (who with a good defensive roster was damn good coach for my pacers and lakers & where he prob wins b2b title in 21 if AD/Bron healthy), didn’t hire Lue, gave away Carsuo, KCP, DeRozan (for Westbrook as lowballed DD yrs wise to “match LeBrons contract”…also wouldn’t allow Lue to hire his own assistant coaches?), Jaquez Jr or Cam Whitmore in 1st rd (or trade pick for best defensive guard/wing or defensive/rebounding big available or sniper shooter…LeBron 39% 3s rest of lakers 28% when if just 35% they win series or def go 7… if they shoot better and rebound better period), GG Jackson or Jackson Davis (vs Max Lewis).
    Even passin on Tatum plus givin away Lopez & Zubac Pelinka was GM (even if Magic was technically president).
    Rob deserves credit for 19-20 20-21 roster but outside of that he’s been BAD. No GM is perfect/infallible, but Lakers should throw as much money as possible at an elite/proven GM like
    Presti (Thunder) Myers (Warriors 2011-2021 who of course you would take in a heartbeat as overall he’s HOF nominee dope with who he drafted overall + Kerr + Iggy + Wiggins…not perfect for sure though everyone thought Wiseman at the time was pick or at least large majority), Connelly (Nuggets hired Malone, drafted Jokic Murray MPJ and traded for AG so their 4 best players…also last 2yrs for Wolves traded for Gobert, Conley, NAW who have been 3 big pieces for them to make them 55 win type team this year and even last year they took Wolves 5 with McDaniels Naz Reid both out!).
    Also I get LeBron is old, but “on his way out of the league” not close to true to me given he was a top6-12 player all year and in the Playoffs was overall elite top2-6 guy.
    LeBron Jokic Ant are the only 3 players so far in playoffs with Game Score of 24+ and 10+ BPM (both elite numbers). He was also 3rd most PPG in 4th (9.8 PPG in 4th behind only Maxey 10.3 & Ant 10.5).
    Bron Murray Ant the only 3 guys who had at least 8 made shots and 2+ made 3s in the 4th in games within 5 points (“clutch time”) while making at least 65% FG% on those shots and 50%+ 3P% on those shots!
    1991 MJ & 2024 Bron only playoff years EVER to avg 27+ 8+ 6+ 2+spg 1+ bpg on 50+ FG% & 38+ 3P%! It you make that 1+ spg instead of 2+ it only adds 2023 Jokic! LeBron is top5 in Playoffs in STL% (#1 spg), AST% (4th in apg behind only Jokic Haliburton Brunson Luka and if other Lakers shoot 35+% from 3 instead of 28%🤢🤮 then he’s prob number 1 as he’s 8.8 and Jokic #1 9.8), 9th in PPG (3rd in 4th), 23rd in BPG, 5th in PER, 2nd in VORP behind only Jokic, T2nd in BPM (with Ant behind Jokic who is clear #1), tied for 5th in most clutch PPG, 12th in TS% & WS/48, #1 in RAPTOR, 3rd in EPM.
    Could he fall off a cliff at some point bc of age/milage/health? For sure, but based on this year alone (even though he clearly still has to conserve energy where he can which is more reason why Pelinka should be gone as he’d be able to do that more with Ty Lue, Caruso, KCP, DeRozan, Zubac, Lopez, Jaquez Jr/Cam/DFS type, GG Jackson or TJD etc.) by nearly every metric LeBron was a top6-10 player in NBA. Even if he falls to top10-15 or 15-20 range that’s still top 96-97% percentile of the 450 players in NBA. It’s why ppl scoffing at LeBron getting 3yrs 164 million makes me laugh. Every player who is top1-25 player in NBA for most part gets max type money. It is what it is.
    PS
    LeBron should be 28-32 mpg and could be like Duncan Spurs but roster not nearly good enough (around him or AD).

    Just a quick review. Darvin Ham's personal best over 8 NBA seasons was 5.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, less than 1 steal and less than 1 block per game. He was a career .250% from beyond the arc. As an NBA player, he wasn't elite and wasn't a clever Captain Kirk on the bench to guide the Lakers to greatness. Perhaps somebody with a proven gift for the game as a more elite NBA player might better steer the Lakers to a championship.

    Wishlist Priorities, Ranked
    1. Coaching: Ham Fired. Hire Ty Lue or Kenny Atkinson. Hire/Keep JJ, Rondo, Handy as assistant coaches.
    2. Retain Bron DLo Max TP: Resign DLo to team friendly trade-able contract w less money per year, but more years. If needed, they can trade him.
    3. Center: Get a REAL Strong, bruiser DEFENSIVE and REBOUNDING BACKUP CENTER that can be affective against bigger teams. DO NOT go for the shiny toy AGAIN. MOST, including this channel, were enamored by Wood who gave almost nothing. While a few of said HELL NO get a center that is known for STRONG DEFENSE and that is their strength NOT the POTENTIAL offense. And now, suddenly those that were all in on Wood are saying it is a primary NEED to go with the opposite. Ya, WE WARNED YOU. Buha was one of the only analysts who was not blinded by the false pie-in-sky promise of Wood. Use Wood in a package to get a real center.
    PG Backup: Use Vincent and/or Dinwiddie and a low pic if needed, to go after Caruso.
    *Use Rui/DLo/JHS/Picks and anything LOWER tier to go after 3rd star.
    This does NOT have to be a Superstar. Go after a star that has a reasonable salary, that could be flipped later if needed, and one where you DONT HAVE TO GUT THE TEAM. NOT TRAE YOUNG, he is neither a SUPERSTAR, NOR DOES he have a traceable contract, his contract is LOW VALUE, and for a 1WAY PLAYER. Lakers have a problem with bigger teams, NOT JUST DENVER. ALL the bigger teams will destroy him. Lakers have been great against the smaller teams, in which case renders Trae barely an upgrade and ONLY in scoring/Ball Handling, not even in terms of FG or 3PT, he gets beat there.
    *Give Castleton the 15th spot, on a real contract, not 2way, so they can actually develop him and get him accustomed to NBA playing. This would be a minimum contract. No Need to "save" that spot only to never use it, or on a player that isn't really needed and/or doesn't have near the potential
