Cutting up and patching a brand new subframe torque box instead of just replacing the hole thing? wow!

Yeah, I thought about replacing the whole piece, but the original was only rusty on the bottom. In hindsight replacing the whole piece would have been better. Live and learn.

Your doing a great job. I should of used braces on mine to hold the structure together. I've noticed here and there things that are off by half inch to an inch, so far they have not been a mission stopper.

Hey thanks a bunch! I will be cutting the floor out in the near future and I'll need all the strength I can get. Your project is looking awesome btw. Where are you located?

The subframe mount or the toe boards? I ordered them from the Classic Industries website.

@@trishm27 I believe you're talking about the subframe mount. Here's a link to the part. Hope this helps. www.classicindustries.com/product/1968/chevrolet/camaro/parts/153841.html

Have you considered getting the entire vehicle media blasted first before you undertake any of the needed metalwork? Blasting always exposes more problems which you need to address -- meaning your scope of work is not clear unless you blast first then do the metalwork. Interesting video nonetheless.

I thought about having it media blasted, but I don't have a good way to transport it. I know the quarters are good and I replaced the whole floor, wheel houses, upper dash and lower cowl. So, not many areas left for rust to hide. Thanks for watching.

@@ElrodsGarage I understand your thinking. I have personally media blasted about 100 car bodies and I have heard many times from owners these very same sentiments you express. I assure you that you do not know the condition until it comes back from the blaster. Just ensure you do not hire someone not reputable.
