oli poured his heart & soul into TTS. I don’t know for sure but I believe it was related to his split with Hannah which happened shortly before or just as the recording of this album began and from what I remember it was bad.
Same, royal albert mostly for orchestra stuff but That's The Spirit is without a doubt one of the 10 music albums with most SOUL ever created and a timeless masterpiece.
I like more BMTH with screams, but this album and the music full of irony, pain, depression, giving up on life, fighting to live, loniless and stuff like that, not to make people happy but to relate with the writer who lived throught all this, makes you, a scream or "pop" BMTH enjoyer, impossible to hate TTS.
You can question the quality of their music by some musical theory
but let me tell you something
There's no lyrics nor songs with such emotional power or this kind of sentiment like this.
Love them.
Even theory wise, their music is sound. They utilise key and time changes regularly, syncopated riffs, hard.onies always on key. People may dislike the music, and that's fine but I challenge anyone to question their talent :)
Sometimes this song comes on and I start belting it out and I realise I might actually need to change some things in my life 😂.

What makes me almost cry isn’t even exactly the song, it’s the tears of joy seeing people come together like this. Seeing Ollie being able to make whole crowds jump with his music is truly amazing.
You're right, I saw them live at Bologna the last year and enjoying their music with a great friend and hundreds of rock/metal fans in a beautiful scenario was something of magical.

I found this song when it came out not long after I lost my dad to cancer when I was 13. This performance of this song with the crowd chanting "fuck cancer"in the background. Means more to me than I could ever put into words. Thank you so much for this.
I lost my dad to cancer when I was that age too and i was listening to the concert this morning in my car and with that whole fucking speech before the song starts and the lyrics and shit I just cried lol it brings out a whole lot of feelings
Thing you have to understand about these kinda songs is they they scream the things we wish we could even whisper...I am 26 years old now and a was a big time emo kid and all I can say...is that these kinda songs saved me.
That emotion the crowd is giving off could be a thank you for there lives
