So glad they decided to repress this!
That LaBelle album is straight 🔥
The Rock option series is the best decision they ever made. Already ZZ Top and Black Sabbath on my record shelf. Hoping for a VMP Black Sabbath box set (1st five albums). Side note: According to Blue Note VMP will re-issue their Blue Note jazz box set
Yes. Very excited about that set.
Very satisfied with VMP. I’ve been a member for a year now and have been getting essentials and now rock genre occasionally subbing off essentials to a few classics genre. I absolutely love them and would concur that they are worth the price or admission if you’re in the U.S. don’t know about shipping costs outside the U.S.
- I actually have my Black Sabbath copy and have yet to listen lol. When I get home from traveling this week it’s the first one I’ll be spinning.
Thanks for the review and well done!
Glad you like them. I think they are doing some great stuff and even opening a pressing plant.
Pretty happy with VMP so far. I switched to the Rock Track on day one so I have a copy of all the releases for this track. I have only had to contact customer service once on a really poor copy of the Thin Lizzy album. Customer service was spot on. Handled my concern and as you said, I communicated with a real person. Looking forward to a sound comparison with my existing 2015 reissue of MOR. Great video as always!
I love that Thin Lizzy album. Great sound and presentation.
By the way. Better than getting an oversized sleeve is to get the Vinyl Storage Solutions specific gatefold sleeves. I use them for all my Tone Poets and VMP gatefolds
I have considered them - they are expensive, but I do Like that you can open the gatefold and it's all protected.
The quality and design is the best there is. Once I discovered them I changed all my albums to them.
Got both…great editions
Another great video! I just picked up a Masters of Reality OG a couple of weeks ago.
An OG? US or UK pressing?
@@PiecesofVinyl original us press. The label is green like the VMP.
Nice work Rocco 🤘🏻Probably the hottest release VMP has had since Fiona/Tidal. Hope mine doesn’t arrive with scratches!
🤞🏻 this is a pretty sweet pressing so I hope you are good.
@@PiecesofVinyl seam split + scratched record combo. Good news is they are sending me a replacement. Outside of that, the initial impression was a positive one. 🙂
@@ConcertBuddieno! A seem split really? I have never had one from them🤞🏻I probably just jinxed myself.
It would be nice if other countries had a version of VMP
For me in Australia the shipping cost just doesn't make it affordable
I hear that. Hopefully one day they can expand distribution. I bought a couple records from Australia last year!
VMP jacket and pressing quality has been solid for me overall though but even when I have the occasional issue they are quick to address it. The originals for Labelle our inexpensive and sound good, and there is a quadraphonic version. It would be interesting to do a comparison.
I have thought about that. Also I never mentioned that the meters are in this record too!
I wish I could buy more from vmp they really do have a great product. You definitely pay for the quality. I only have 2 vmp exclusives and I almost bought the Tito Puente this past weekend because it's almost sold out. Hopefully I can snag a copy. Also I found a group from Philly that they repressed recently. Have you. Heard of The Destinations? It was recorded at Sigma Sound Studios in Philly and it was a hit locally in 1968. Definitely worth a listen brotha man, I know you'd appreciate a banger coming out of Philly
I have not. But I’m gonna check it out. I got the 45 today it was in the mail shuffle at home. Thanks again! Gonna make a video opening it!
@@PiecesofVinyl AWSOME!!! I hope you like it. And The Destinations 45 repress, I'm getting 2 different answers about the Colored version. It's saying they only pressed 100, but another site says only 75 were pressed. Either way I'm gonna email you the songs and I think this would be another great Philly soul video to do brotha man
Did you get another turntable? Are you going to review it ?
I did. And yes I am!
If I'm not mistaken, they took ten years to repress Thelonious Monk - Paris 1969. I'm not a fan of all this coloured, splotchy, marbled, two tone vinyl. If they want to position themselves in the market as an audiophile company, just stick with black wax and be done with it.
That is true but it was an early pressing. I personally like the colors and don’t seem to have any sonic issues with them.
