Welcome to my channel! This is a music reaction channel. For the longest time, I've loved creating content on the internet. I started off with a gaming channel right here on CZcams, which eventually turned into a Twitch gaming channel, but as time has gone on I've evolved into doing other things on CZcams. For years now I've wanted to create a music channel on CZcams, and recently just figured "why not?", so it’s time to give this a go! Give me any suggestion you have for music reactions, and I will do my best to get around to them. As music has fallen further out of my life, I figured this would be a great time to get reintroduced to music.
If you enjoy this video and my reactions make sure you subscribe to the channel, like the video and comment down below which video you would like to see me react to next.
This is a reaction video used to educate and give my feedback on the song and artists.

I was a child when this song came out and I absolutely loved it. I have loved it continuously for decades. It is just too fun. I used to play it on my walkman in the 90's as I did my mile walk, singing from the top of my lungs.

This brings back some great memories! When my older sister turned 13, she had a birthday slumber party. My mom bought a little case filled with 45 rpm dance records. Duke of Earl was in it. Of course, Do The Twist by Chubby Checker’s was included😎❤️

Always loved this song. I was a rocker who started listening because of the Beatles. Many of my contemporaries appreciated these 50s and very early sixties bands. Point is, we were always willing to give "older stuff" a chance, like you and other reactors.

Hey, Shawn, Since you're doing all of these 50s oldies, I recommend you check out "Rocket 88" by Jackie Brenston, 1951. It is generally considered to be the first rock-n-roll song. It features Ike Turner and his Kings of Rhythm (called the Delta Cats on the label).

Greetings from Australia - nice to see a reactor reacting to different songs and not the same ones everybody else has done.
Another song done by "mistake" is Misty by Ray Stevens. Stevens and his band were just mucking around with the song and someone said that they should record it...it ended up winning a Grammy Award.

Yes, this is a "doo wop" song, typical Philadelphia style harmonizing. popular from the late 50s (58-59) until the Beatles started releasing music in 1963. There are dozens of songs in this era that are considered classic Americana. To make it easy, the soundtrack to the movie AMERICAN GRAFFITI is a great collection of many of the top hits.

ANSWER SONGS are an interesting phenomenon in early rock and roll. I definitely suggest if you want to look at them, you do both the original and the answer song in the same episode. The most interesting original-and-answer pair, to me at least, is the pair "A Thousand Miles Away" (1956) by the Heartbeats and "Daddy's Home" (1961) by Shep and the Limelites. Both songs were written (in part) by James Sheppard, who sang lead vocal on both songs. The first song is the lovers' suffering their separation, and the second is about their reunion.

"Hot Rod Lincoln" by Charlie Ryan in 1955 was an answer song to Arkie Shibley's 1950 "Hot Rod Race".
Of course there continued to be occasional occasional answer songs long after that era, like Carol King's "You've Got A Friend", answering James Taylor's "Fire and Rain".

Gene Chandler is one of the few singers to achieve chart success spanning the doo-wop, R&B, soul & disco musical eras 50's-80's. His 2 biggest hits were "Duke Of Earl" & "Groovy Situation". But he recorded a lot of great songs such as "Just Be True", "Nothing Can Stop Me", "What Now," "Rainbow," "I Fooled You This Time," "Think Nothing About It," "A Man's Temptation," "To Be A Lover," "Bless Our Love", "You Can't Hurt Me No More" etc.
