- Today I'm telling the story of how I finally convinced my parents to let me get a pet leopard gecko! I got the idea for this when I found some old letters/papers that I wrote to my parents attempting to explain why I should be able to get one.

My mom wasn't cool with it at first either, but I showed her all of my research and made a pricing chart of everything I would need for it. She ended up only agreeing once I said that I would buy everything with my own money haha. Once I brought mine home though she fell in love with it and now she comes into my room just to see him, doesn't even acknowledge me

I convinced my parents by researching for over a year and doing a presentation on them, and also proving I’m responsible with my other pets.

I did the same thing 😂❤️! My mom said no to a turtle at first but I told her I did my research and made a check list of things I need for this new family member. Thank god I convinced her and I’m getting a slider soon !!

I had to do a power point but it was totally worth it. My slider is adorable and sassy and hungry(like me), and I love her.

I literally wrote more than an essay. I literally wrote a whole book and my mum still said no 😠 I'm still trying

😂keep persevering. Although to reassure you, I only REALLY tried and was serious about it for a year or two. It was just 6-7 years in between when I first wanted one and when I actually ended up getting one.
The Turtle Girl I have won the war! I recently got a year old albino leopard gecko called Jambu! But I have a question that’s asked a lot, but never really answered the same way. When should I start to handle him? I’ve had him for a day, so he hasn’t adjusted yet, but my question is always answered with completely different times. Can you please answer my question?

Thank you for this video 😭 I have a leopard gecko, but after two years of having her I think I’m ready for two zebra finches (or a beardieee).
My first word was bird and I pretty much lived in the Philadelphia Zoo with how much I visited, each time admiring the eagles and other birds. They always caught my eye and I’m in love with their behavior and the way they interact (or don’t; some are highly predatory 😬😂)

Please don't wait a whole week for each feeding!! A baby leopard gecko needs to be fed every day and an adult at least every two days but mostly every other day.
And also, feed at dawn or dusk, when the gecko would hunt and be awake and active in the wild

I remember when I got mine a few months back, I didn’t really have to do much convincing lol all I had to do is tell them how old it was and how I’d get it home, I bought him off a friend for 50 bucks, best 50 bucks I have ever spent I’ve had him for about 4 months now, my dad likes reptiles so it didn’t take much convincing for me, I later found out that dad had already been thinking about getting me a leopard gecko so when I texted him about it he’s like “get it and bring it home” so I was so stoked I thought he’d say no at first but I didn’t know he had a fondness for reptiles. I love my Leo he’s cool he’s chill half the time and the other half he uses me as a jungle Jim like yours lol, i handle him about three times a day it’s funny because if I don’t he’ll go to the edge of the tank and look at me and try to follow me through the glass as I walk past his tank and he’ll keep doing it until I take him out he loves being handled and I love that about him, i love everything about having a Leo!

My friends gecko is obsessed with my shoulder and knee. She just sits there, it’s so cute! I fell in love and I researched a bunch and all I needed to do to convince my mom is it being a birthday gift lol.

My mom all I had to to was ask and then she said yes but when it came to food that's was when she said no,so then I ask my dad and he said yes and he said he will by it for me so now i will get it in 2 or 1 weeks or when I visit my dad at his house 🏡

what type of plants would you recommend for a hatchling red eared slider tank? i want to get some live ones but i have no idea which ones are safe and which ones (if any) are toxic to turtles!
I’m really big Crested Gecko fan and Ive been working on softening them up slowly to it and now I’m happy to say after 1 1/2 years they are finally considering it. (Fingers crossed)

Ik this is very very late reply 😂 but just say they can eat pangea which is a powdered diet that you mix with water. Then say I will give them insects here and there cause they need it. I'll put the insects and crestie in a tub so non escape

My dad is re-purposing an old water fountain into a turtle pond. The fountain doesn't have any sort of filtration so we're not sure how to get started. Any advice?
I want a bearded dragon more than ANYTHING more than my dream gaming set up. My dad just says no, no matter how much I try, I’ve done my research for over 4 months and he still said no and my mom doesn’t really care but I told him he wouldn’t even pay for it and he still said no
Aw, sorry to hear that Maddie. It'll can definitely take time. Keep persisting, show you're responsible, and show that you've done your research. Set up a box in a place where you'd want to put the tank. Make a jar/envelope full of the money you plan to spend on it and put it in a visible place. Best of luck!

Yes! It's absolutely fine. The filter usually makes a bit of humming and bubbling, so if that type of thing annoys you then maybe find a different place for the tank, but fish tanks are self contained. It won't smell as long as you maintain it properly (do water changes). And the turtle won't make you sick as long as you wash your hands whenever touching it or cleaning out the tank :)

Personally, I turn off the heat lamp since I have a water heater. I keep on the UVB lamp because it’s very dim and food for night-viewing. If you don’t have a water heater or if your house is cold keep on all the lights.

The only thing that is holding my parents back from getting me a gecko is what will happen when I have to go off to college x3 I know that I’m going to bring it with me but there’s many colleges that don’t allow pets so that’s a struggle.
I know this is nothing related to leopard geckos 🦎😂😂🤣, but you wanna know how I got my budgie, I went on pets4homes, found one I liked , messaged the woman about it, did a bit of reasearch and eventually mom and dad found out that I was messaging her, asked “ why are you messaging this woman about a budgie” of course I just said “ I realy want one 😂👍🏻” then they just said, ugh fine , well take you to pick it up on Wednesday then I was like OKG now way thanks 😂😂

You should get a created gecko next they are sooooo cute and require very minimal care which includes spot cleaning, mist downs, and their food which is like a gel, and the obvious cleanings when necessary. I just think that type of pet suits you.
technically you don't have to even spot clean if it's bioactive, and you only have to add springtails.
You could even get a misting system to automate everything, and the only thing you have to do is change its food every few days. So simple
