WatchOS 10 definitely feels new and refreshed for the first time. Everything is completely new. Unlike most years where it’s just new watch faces and most of the apps are the same.

Last Xmas, two business affiliates gave me watches, so now I have two sitting in a drawer. Cell phone and watch users are zombie/morons... so I don't use them.

Honestly can't wait to install watchOS 10. The keynote made it look like an extremely justified update that brings more capabilities to the watch. Kinda also feels like a beautiful refresh too. Its like putting down a fresh set of paint on the walls

Same! I use doc tons.. for hand full of most used apps I need short way to get..
They are breaking stuff. Very high price for these widgets.

Thanks for this informative video. My Apple Watch series 6 just died this morning so I decided to go with Ultra after seeing yours - love the case band combo and larger, brighter screen!
I definitely wasn't as excited about watchOS 10 when it was announced compared to iOS and iPadOS but seeing this video has changed my mind I am pumped for this update!
Funnily enough the best os update is watch os followed by ipad os stage manager is almost perfect now and the new 3 finger gesture controls are revolutionary been wanting these things for ages, also new pdf imports is insane in quicknote

I'm patient and I'll wait for the public release. But I love what I'm seeing, especially that button on the side for the control centre That makes a lot more sense.
I love the new design. Maybe I should finally upgrade from my Series 3.
A "pointy hands" option for the analog watch faces is all I'm asking for.

The Snoopy & Woodstock watch face is nice. Would have liked to see some new exclusive Ultra watch faces, though. Or at least more options to modify the Wayfinder watch face.

Nice hands on! I was hoping this video to show how do we invoke the recent apps if the side button is now used for control center
double tap - apple pay
single tap - control center
hold - power menu
crown single tap - apps
crown hold - siri
crown double tap - last app

Actually, crown double tap brings up recent apps. Seems like it replaced the last app functionality
@@filipilif it better not, tbh I use that ALL the time. I *NEVER* use the recent app list.
I’dve greatly preferred if it’s button functionality was completely replaced by widgets and the rest of the UI continued to function the same.
Taking away the swipe function from almost every input in the old UI will make the Watch feel slower and clunky imo. Having to tap and hold to change watch faces is a LOT more in depth requires more interaction with the watch then with a simple swipe.
I also rarely use the control center save for a few use cases where I’m thinking about it before hand. Being moved to the button is dumb imo as most people don’t need a quick access command button dedicated for it. The Home Screen is only a single button away and it’s just a swipe from there. It’s easy enough to open.
Overall I like the *idea* of this update but I HATE the implementation
Ideally above all of this is they add options to have buttons respond like the past update. Similar to how you can change the functionality of the action button.
I noticed it jittered when you brought up Apple Pay (at 2:52). I really hope it won’t run slow versus the Apple Watch which is released in September which inevitably will have a faster chip in it!

Actually I kinda like the honey comb view because I completely resorted the apps after their colors so I exactly know how to find them.

I'm exited for all of the betas to come out i'm glad apple didn't do a total redesign to IOS or IpadOS the new features they have added are welcomed and will definitely make the actual experience better.

Well, have you tested how heart rate reading is behaving during a workout on OS10? Not only my Ultra but also of a lot of guys running OS 9.5 fail to keep the HR reading steady. I was wondering if OS10 would correct that and it was only a software issue. Thanks !
The widgets are great, but I wish they had also added new a home screen option in addition to honeycomb & list views with just a few fixed BIG icons for those with dexterity issues

How does the new ui work with the wayfinder watch face? Because that turns red on watchOS 9 when the Digital Crown when turned upwards. But the new ui is invoked by upwards turning the Digital Crown. Just wondering
The limit of widgets available is stricter if you own an older model. I wear a series 5 and I can add only 4.

With the new way the crown works, can you still use it to get night mode on the AW ultra wayfinder app. If so how does it respond, as it would need to do 2 different things with the same action of turning the crown.??
Should I update my iPhone as well if I want to install only watchOS 10? In the past, I knew that it wouldn't let you if your iPhone wasn't on the same OS version too.
Does this mean you can no longer use the crown to scroll and make the watch face the ultra came with red? I hope not, I really like using that feature
Summoning gestures takes the crown, and toggling in and out of Night Mode has been banished to the basement of watch face customization. It takes many more steps, on the other hand, there’s now a third mode that just might make all the shuffling around worth it. Auto Night Mode is new to Apple Watch Ultra in watchOS 10, and how it works is pretty sweet. Human eyes don’t require manual mode switching to adjust to different lighting environments. Now Night Mode on Apple Watch Ultra doesn’t either. Auto Night Mode uses Apple Watch Ultra’s ambient light sensor to determine when light levels are low enough that Night Mode would be easier on the eyes.

@@ChefGoreb The simplicity of changing the to night mode will definitely be missed, as will scrolling left or right to change the current watch face. I'm still a bit puzzled as to why using the crown and swiping up from the bottom of the screen to access widgets is needed. Seems redundant. Overall, I'm liking OS10 on my Ultra. Haven't encountered any bugs on the developer beta...yet.

I'm very very very glad that apple thought all the way through for Apple Watch ! The thing is that I'm being wearing an Apple Watch the past 5 years (since series 1) et now that the world is catching up ... I loose a lot of interest about Apple Watch, it's pricy, doesn't really age well over time and getting this thing fixed is not cheap at all, I have an Apple Watch series 5, my destroyed my screen (full of scratches only but still) and because it's been like 2-3 years now so the battery is still good but changing the battery is 97€ (France) + the screen I guess .... not worth it at All ... and I was bored with the OS .. apple is not giving a lot of informations (I'm thinking about Garmin there) about health ... but this update seems to be really nice and At the end of the year I'm gonna either go with a newer Apple Watch or a gamin 265... I still don't know ..
After all, it looks like a smartphone on your hand. What I appreciate about the Galaxy Watch 5 is that you can set whatever you want on the watchface, which is important because it's a smartwatch (not a smartphone to dive into menus). i have on the watchface, the progress of Todois tasks, the three nearest calendar events, habit tracker, time and glasses of water.
Sam i see that quick actions widget there, but are there separate widgets for phone and messages you can add?
Do you know if the hiking feature on the update is going to be available across the board or only on the ultra?

@@aranyabhattacharyya3436 They’re going to be making ACTUAL glasses. Like as in eyeglasses that people wear everyday. You won’t even be able to tell them apart necessarily. But obviously we aren’t at that point yet.

The Snoopy Watch Face was almost definitely done in conjunction with the MacOS Sonoma naming. Charles Schulz (Peanuts Creator) is from Sonoma County and there's a big Snoopy presence around the area.

When I got my first iPhone, I used it for a couple days until Apple completely redesigned it. Now I just got my first Apple Watch and it's gonna change aalll of it again. I'm not really complaining.

On the widget screen, can you change the analog clock to digital?
Have they improved the podcast app? Even though I have an Ultra, I still take my iPhone with me on runs because the podcast app is so poor. For some reason I'm yet to work out, it shows every episode from every podcast I've added to a Station, whether or not they are played or unplayed.

Maybe this will be addressed in a later update (as I recognize this is only the first watchOS 10 beta), but when he went to the 3D view for the back track/points of interests menu; that ‘Done’ button needs some more padding horizontally. It looks like it barely fits inside of the button.
Another thing, I really like the new widgets view, but I gotta say, as someone whos been using the Siri widget face, this is a glorified update to it, and I don’t know that I like this change. They should have simply updated the Siri face, I don’t know that I want to see the widgets view on my other watch faces. Maybe that’s just me and it’s a hot take.
Do you mind if I ask a question, new to Apple Watches, what is the Siri widget face?
If you click on pin at the right side of the widget when in edit mode the pinned widget will move to the top . I tried getting ride of the tips widget but couldn’t, had to delete the tips app from watch and reboot , needed to extra widget space . That might be a bug that widget can’t be removed .
