As a Valencia fan the first red flag for me was the Neville appointment. But the final nail in the coffin was letting our best midfielder and captain Parejo leave to our cross city competitors for FREE. He had no desire to leave either. He loved the club

In your opinion how good is Yunus Musah? Lately the talk in American circles is that Musah is too good for the 2nd division if that happens but also he's been linked with Liverpool and some people think he's nowhere near good enough to even make their bench.

Valencia before Lim had financial troubles due to the global recession and forced to sell Mata, Villa and Silva. Since Lim took over it has gotten so bad that the new stadium when completed it will be slightly bigger than the old stadium instead of having 75k seats and they sold their key players on a loss and signed dross. As bad the Glazers are, Peter Lim takes the cake for the worst owner in football.

Who were the previous owners and who got them into this awful short term debt? Of course that is the biggest problem. You can’t hope to finish a stadium or buy new players if you are in danger of defaulting every couple of months or year. Should be criminal for any owner to get such loans in the first place. Also I guess Lim doesn’t have enough money to refinance the club, literally has to sell players every year just to keep the creditors away. Why did he even bother? Just makes thing worse, or kicks the can down the road.

Later on, Deportivo suffered a debacle with four relegations (2011, 2013, 2018, 2020) and they are still locked in Primera Division RFEF.
Malaga, after being banned by UEFA, were also struggling and eventually went down to La Liga 2 in 2018, 5 years after the Qatari-owned club with world class players had almost qualified for the Champions League semifinal.

@@Sammie551 When Leicester City won the Premier League, all Big 6 teams didn't perform well. Manchester City had missed the Champions League, but still won the League Cup. The city rivals, although only played in Europa League (and then won it), also had the FA Cup. Also, Leicester's big rivals for title contenders was Tottenham Hotspurs, but after the historic game vs Chelsea, Arsenal somehow finished second instead of Tottenham in the final days. Liverpool and Chelsea didn't even play in Europe; the former wasted a big opportunity to play in Champions League the next season after losing the Europa League Final to Sevilla with Jurgen Klopp, while the latter enjoyed the worst one, having sacked Jose Mourinho in the first half of season, when the club are in relegation battle.
Also, La Liga in 2002-03 was the strangest one because Real Madrid was the only giants that qualified for the Champions League, because they were the champions of Spain. You guess who is the three clubs joining Real Madrid on Top 4 finish: Real Sociedad, Deportivo La Coruna, and Celta Vigo.
