Great work!!!
Installed my set today, took much longer than expected, drilled hole for power cable, hooked up wrong flippers finding a good spot for right side was not great with plunger in way. After I got all setup left side sounds amazing but right sounds weak due to solenoid placement farther from button, need longer wires to button so I can move right side solenoid closer to buttons. I do agree that plugging into system was pretty easy though with all the connections ready to plug and play.
Did you have any problems with the accelerometer? I am tilting on every game unles I turn it off completely after installing these.
Would you recommend getting this kit or the haptics kit first? Or which upgrade do you think provided the best value for the money? I think I’m only going to be playing with the stock tables so Im leaning towards the solenoid kit…
Hi just did this and it seems to be working. Does the solenoid fire when you go through the pages of tables? I wired it correctly but I can't tell if it's working
Looks great. Is there anyway to contact you? I am new to this level arcade build but I have a recroommaster “emulator edition plus” with ledblinky compatible buttons. But I am stuck trying to configure it to work with some front ends. Not sure if you or if you know of resources online that may help with that particular control deck, since you have one I figured I’d ask. Thanks!
How did you prop your screen up for the install? I see red and black wires on the kit and blue wires on the ALP. How did you know which wire on the board to connect to the ALP?
Just exactly what is 3 mm tape?
Do these support OCP as well? checked their website and it doesnt allude to a yes or no one this. Looks like an awesome cheap solution here, and if it works OCP I am down. Anyways thanks for showing! :)
Great video. Did you plug most things in before putting in the solenoids in the cabinet?
Yes
I'd be curious : how loud are these?
Here's my dilemma : I'd really like to add this to my alp (currently exactly like yours was before, so factory + buystuff haptics), but I live in an apartment and can only play at night.
So this might be in equal parts awesome or a complete showstopper for me ;)
Bonus questions :
Could they maybe be damped? Like, is there some accessible space where one could squeeze a bit of cloth into?
Or, maybe this could be the solution : can they be turned off and the buttons still work? Then I'd be able to just activate /deactivate them as needed..
I'm in the same boat. I play a lot at night like after the gf is asleep, so 1030 pm to 1 am. Having neighbors below and beside is a concern if I can't control the sound.
@@sinizin precisely.
one would thus need at least an option to turn these things off...
@@zorglub667 how have the buystuff haptics worked for you? Can those be volume controlled? I haven't bought that yet either. I was trying to decide if I would get that or this or both.
@@sinizin the haptics kit is actually pretty perfect for our particular scenario. you can not only control the volume but also dial in the crossover frequency for the sub, ranging from "just do the disco stuff" to a rather active rumble machine that gets you to hear the ball rolling even at low volumes.
so i must say, i absolutely love it. gets me to dial in the maximum possible "feel" within the constrained scenario that we both play in :-) 100% recommended.
the only thing it certainly cannot do is give you that definitve flipper button "smack". that physical solenoid smack cannot be replaced by mere exciters. but that brings us back to our problem. a solenoid would have to remain deactivated in our situation anyway, so this is the next best thing.
just make sure to ignore the part in wagners tutorial where he recommends to leave the stock haptics disconnected. you can reconnect them without fearing some sort of impendance mismatch, and the combination of the exciter plus the subtle vibration of the stock haptics is likely the best "apartment friendly" thing avaiable to us mere mortals that dont own a separate mancave arcade basement ;-)
@@zorglub667 hahaha you're the best. Made me laugh hard reading that at work. Appreciate the detailed explanation more than you know!
Mine came in the mail today. Did you use the included screws? They looked a bit long. Hope these are worth the $135 I paid. Hard to tell what they sound like in a video.
I did not use those screws there to long and will pinch through, pretty sure I said that in my video
One more question. Is this the Complete Kit with Power Supply? Thanks 🙏
Yes
Did you leave exciters from previous kit installed and place solenoid boards below?
I did yes
