Top 30 scrapped cartoon charecters
Star Trek
Addams Family & Bewitched
S.W.A.T., the A team and charlie's angels
The show was very short lived, but "The Naked Gun" movies are some of my favorite. Police Squad was way ahead of its time
Man from UNCLE is highly underrated!
"Fall Guy" deserved better at the box office
Actually enjoyed the Fall Guy and not just because I love Emily Blunt
If it was an action film and not an overpriced romantic comedy? Maybe
@@AncestorEmpire1
Tell us you didn’t watch it without telling us you didn’t watch it…
🥉
Yeah!
The Brady Bunch deserved to be higher on the list
"The Addams Family" movies from the 90's are my entire childhood. I've still not seen an episode of the 60's series to date, but Christina Ricci absolutely shone as Wednesday.
I haven't seen the '60s series or the Netflix series, but I don't understand in the Netflix series why Wednesday is in a love triangle which was never in Wednesday’s character from the '90s movies or any iteration. Wednesday never showed any romantic interest in anyone in any iteration of the series.
@@kamsismith Me neither, and Jenna Ortega was also against Wednesday being in a forced love triangle, saying that Wednesday functioned better when she was allowed to be her badass self.
I'm old enough to have been around when the original 60s version existed, and It creeped me out at first. But in time I learned the history and started to get the jokes. When the 90s movies came out, it made the original series better.
The Fugitive is a no-brainer #1. First one of thought of.
I saw the film adaptation, but not the original series.
Thank you for the update, WatchMojo..!! 9:21 John Lithgow's gremlin episode was the best Twilight Zone movie episode ever. 🤣
Well kinda ironic that mission impossible 1996 is here because everyone who was a tv show fans hated the movie due to the twist. Even the tv cast members hated it.
Bang on the point! Cruise killed the Phelps character off, so he can take over the franchise with sub-par sequels that cannot hold a candle to the original TV episodes.
"The A-Team goes full throttle!" No, that's Charlie's Angels again.
The Fugitive has always been classic from both the original 1960s television show and its action thriller 1993 film adaptation.
WAIT A MINUTE, WHERE'S "FALL GUY", "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA: RAZOR", "KAMEN RIDER: THE FIRST", "BAIAN THE ASSASSIN M.D" DUOLOGY & "A LITRE OF TEARS"? THESE FIVE BEST TV-TO-FILM ADAPTATIONS DESERVED AN HONORABLE MENTIONS! 📺🎞️🎬🎥👍
The Untouchables, Star Trek, Mission Impossible, and of course the Fugitive are my favourites.
Missed it by that much!
The A-Team should have definitely gotten a sequel; that's a movie I re-watch regularly when it's on....
Ehhhhh…..it honestly wasn’t good though 😅 entertaining in a “shut off your brain” kinda way. It would’ve lost money if they made a second one for sure.
'The Fugitive - 1993' a masterpiece of a film!!
They forgot SpongeBob South Park and Bob’s burgers
They said IRL movies only, because animation is NOT ALWAYS a medium. Don't get offended, just sayin'.
Your Top 10 lists are awesome
Thanks for citing both The A-Team and The Man From U. N. C. L. E. I enjoyed watching both films. In the latter, Henry Cavill was more convincing as Napoleon Solo than as Clark Kent/Superman.
Of the 2000 Charlie's Angels movie, Cameron Diaz's Nathalie was the best and best looking of the team.
Best TV to film adaptations:
Star Trek (and reboot or not, its focus was still on Classic Trek)
Mission: IMPOSSIBLE.
The A-Team
The Man From U. N. C. L. E.
Charlie's Angels (2000)
I hope we get a list of animated movies based on TV shows soon.
Blue Mountain State Rise Of Thadland (2016) With recent news of the upcoming revival of Blue Mountain State via Lionsgate I just had to bring up the 2016 finale movie which I enjoy for the most part the original series that aired on Spike TV from 2010-2011 for 3 seasons was sooo good I still love It to this day
15:35 the films that got people to take note
"Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro"
"Doreamon: Nobita and the Haunts of Evil"
"Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack"
Interesting how Brian DePalma has two movies on this list, and his two arguably greatest films are remakes of older films. The mans the master of the remake
Get Smart, The Fugitive, Mission Impossible, & Starky & Hutch were incredible movies based off TV Shows..👨🏿💻
I read Starsky & Hutch’s Wikipedia page that the movie is actually a prequel to the tv show!
The One armed man is a top 5 villain and its easy to see why.
My tv to movie adaption was the Munsters which you left off the list.
Who knew The Fugitive was based on a TV Show?
Tommy Lee Jones: I don't CARE
The Blues Brother and/or Waynes World shoudl've been on here since they're technically sort of based on the show SNL.
missed
-pee-wee's big adventure
-the blue brothers
-the fall guy
-the muppets movie
-wayne's world
-the naked gun
-serenity
-jackass
-borat
Blues brothers were not a series but characters that appeared on snl like the cone heads
Top 20 Best Movies Based On TV Shows. Thanks WatchMojo! My Next Request: Top 20 Best TV Shows Based On Movies.
Top 20 animated movies based off animated shows
The Naked Gun - from Police Squad!
Dragnet with Dan Aykroyd and Tom Hank I believe, was a funny take on the serious show.
How about lost in
Space, bay watch, fantasy island and Veronica mars.
lol the number one is my favorite movie of all time, and somehow I didn’t see it coming on this list!
The Adventures of Rocky and Bullwinkle should've been a hit as a movie.
Its a cartoon and they’re excluded
@@rony41165 They still made a movie of it, numbskull!
4:53 is that Harry Kim? No wonder he didn't get a promotion.
Nope that not him
WatchMojo can you please do a video on the best movies based on books ?
That would basically be the best movies except for maybe Citizen Kane
I’ve not seen S.W.A.T, I’ve seen bits of Charlie’s Angels, not seen The Brady Bunch Movie, Get Smart, The Man From U.N.C.L.E and The Equalizer.
19:04
Fun fact about the fugitive movie. Most of it was written on set.
Addams family should be number 1. These other shows I've never even heard of after that.😮
Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan should have been used instead of the 2009 insult to Star Trek. Wrath of Khan is considered on of the gold standards in Star Trek
My favorites were the Addams Family and Star Trek and The Fugitive, belonging at #1. (Excellent thriller in its own right)
I thought mission impossible or star trek should be number1.
🎬 Absolutely love this list, great picks! 🍿
Bot trash
Mission Impossible all the way!
🏆🥇

Ha! Gotta love how for The Man From U.N.C.L.E they only mention Henry Cavill😂 in no way were they going to risk controversy by praising Armie Hammer. I was waiting to see how they were gonna tackle that one….best way possible….just don’t even acknowledge him at all. To be honest though, he wasn’t a bad actor at all. Just a sick dude. Really sick…
Look into what happened on the set of Twilight Zone, they really glazed over that one too
I had the tv Swat theme on one of those Ktel albums. And another reason the original Starsky and Hutch was popular was two hot guys who had their clothes off sometimes.
X-Files!
4:20 I didn't know Alyssa MerCunty was in this movie
Where was The Naked Gun series of films?
No love for any of the Dragnet movies? The first one from 1954 was one of the first adaptations of a TV series. I also really like the 87 comedy.
54 probably doesn't count since it's basically a long, theatrical released episode. I would probably put 87 over A-Team here but it wasn't has popular, so I get not including it.
Charlie’s Angels should be way higher on this list.
Can't believe you didn't have "The Saint" on the list.
Not sure a lot of people even remember that movie happened. Wasn't exactly a stand out.
Given that I've never heard of half of the 'miniseries' in the list....
No Serenity (tv show: Firefly)?! What a travesty.
Star Trek films were amazing! Was the third one a bit of a downer? Sure. But still was pretty good. Not abysmal.
There was also the return of the man from u.n.c.l.e 1983
The rebooted Star Trek movies can’t compare to the original 10 films that Star Patrick Stewart and Bill Shatner.
No shout out to John Landis for Twilight Zone? I guess we're trying to sweep the fact that he got two kids killed under the rug
Actor Vic Morrow was also killed.
9:56 outrun style
I really prefer Charlie's Angels of 70s version.
I'm actually like Charlie's Angels, Bewitched,Twilight Zone, Addams Family end Dark Shadows
I was named after Mrs Smith.
Bewitched stunk, Dark Shadows awful
I vote for Follow That Bird, Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, The Muppets.
You missed out...
Doctor Who, two films staring Grand Moff Tarkin (Peter Cushing)
Dukes of Hazzard
The Muppets Movies, esp Christmas Carol
Batman (1966)
Superman (1978)
even in the 70s I thought SWAT and Starsky & Hutch were outrageous parodies of the then-obsession with urban policing in the Patty Hearst era. Although occasionally witty, I thought Get Smart was for kids. I actually liked the Man From UNCLE, it's even somewhat more interesting than the tv series. Addams Family Values is that rare tv-to-movies artistic success. The Untouchables series was far superior to the movie, despite Connery's iconic performance, second only to Bond. As for M:I, the series is IMO the best ever made; the movie franchise are just action fests, they do not come close to the series' psychological mind games. And turn Jim Phelps, an American patriot, into a traitor and give him a dishonorable death? I'm still steamed about that nearly 30 years later. The Fugitive, tv series and movie, are equally as good, though for different reasons.
I hope Blue's Big Musical Movie in mentioned. I know it's mostly animated, but steve isn't.
Seriously, The X-Files movie was far better than many on this list! Why was it not included? 😡🤬
Have ya'll done the opposite of this video? Best TV shows based on movies. I've got Buffy the Vampire Slayer & Friday Night Lights on that list.
S.w.a.t, equalizer, macgyver who were/are popular on TV (again)
Adams Family
Why not the x files
You seriously left The Naked Gun of the list?? 🤦♂️ Massive FAIL!!!
TJ Hooker is next. 😉👍😄😄
No Firefly/Serenity? 😢
10:48 sorry the 3rd is better
Not a favorite, but dark shadows
not maverick
dear God, not the 2009 STAR TREK, which wasn't even true to premises established within the movie, never mind the degree of common sense required even in fantasy movies.
No Bart in MAVERICK
QUATERMASS AND THE PIT - to a much lesser extent the black&white ones that went before.
You might consider the two movies with Peter Cushing as Doctor Who, largely on his performance.
BEWITCHED got too many knocks, with people apparently not noticing that it was about people making an update of the old show rather than a straightforward movie version.
no Police Squad?
How does the worst Star Trek movie get billing and, The Beverly Hillbillies, not even get an honorable mention? I call shenanigans 😜😉
"Maverick" the TV series had the easy going charm of James Garner. Gibson was good in the movie, but the story itself was awful, and Jodie Foster was horribly miscast. Great actress, but just not right for the role. It belongs right down there with "The Lone Ranger".
Take a drink every time "titular" is uttered. 🙄
U forgot firefly
"Animated features don’t count since they deserve a list of their own" the exact moment that animation fans rage quit 🤬🤬🤬🤬(and return a short time later)😐😐😐
Hello
ARE YOU A BROTHER OF KRISTIN BRO?
The Fall Guy?
🥈
Hello good morning 😮😮🎉🎉
Superhero movies so overdone
You really think Star Trek (2009) is the best star trek movie?
Star trek reboots are embarrassment to star trek
El Camino better be on here
Not one of your bettrr list. Based on this video, it easily proves there were not 20 good adaptations. Actually, less than 10.
the Starsky and hutch movie suck and the Adams Family movie was based on the comic and not tv show and a kid and a bunch of other people died during the twlight zone movie and no Naked gun
The fall guy should be up here as well as wild wild west
Transformers
I don't care about anyone else opinion. The A Team was superb.
I really hated the Jump Street movies
The Addams family is a staple in my house. 🫰🫰🎉
