- Witcher 2 Remake - Needed? In today's video I discuss the possibility of a witcher 2 remake and some important considerations for it. I will discuss possible features and expansions to the witcher 2, specifically regarding the locations and witcher letho and geralt's story.

I imagine that a witcher 2 remake could be on the horizon as long as the witcher 1 remake does well. I would also like more side quests in the game
a remake for the witcher 2 will likely forever remain unnecessary but a remaster with some additional reworked systems could do wonders

I was totally fascinated by witcher 2 when it was released in 2011. even more the Witcher 3. i will never forget when first step foot in floatsam. the long trees, sun light pouring through the leaves all was just other worldly then.
One aspect of the Witcher 2 that absolutely does not need a remake is the intro.

well in my opinion the story of the witcher 2 is really good but if they do end up remaking it i would like to have more content...more side quests and the possibility to explore more Flotsam ,Loc Muine or the city that you defend if you side with Saskia.....
imagine if at the end of the game you got to play through events of 'matters of conscience' comic at the end, then when FINISHED Geralt says "time to head home" or "time to head to kaer morhen", AND you got to go north on a road through forest and mountains killing monsters all the while as credits roll to breath taking music the games did oh so well... Only to arrive at kaer morhen with Vesimir saying "Letter came for you wolf... from Yennefer...."

Witcher 1 and 2 are 2 of those few games that don't just deserve but also need to get a remake.
Remake could also make it more sensible because it’s not on any newer gen consoles sadly also they could try and combine deal both link up to each other the Witcher one and two ultimate combo pack. Then you can have all three together on your PS5 and Xbox and computer.
Fully agree. We don't need it but we want it. And your ideas are great. I'll would of course remove the qtls.
However, ultimately, TW2 would do just fine with a re master.
As long as they don't remove rose of remembrance scene with Triss then i wouldn't mind a W2 remake.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a witcher 2 remake if it was also an expansion. I want more quests, more areas and of course more Iorveth.
I would love a witcher 2 remake, because I personally love this game the least of the 3 Witcher games. It would be perfect, if some little things could be changed..
- I hate the alchemy system in Witcher 2. Especially that the time of my potions ticks down during cutscenes and dialogues. Because this inevitably makes me skip dialogues I would have loved to hear.
- The game needs something like a potion of clearing, because it is very easy to missplace skill points in early game, if You play for the first time.
- The game needs a way to craft lesser mutagens into larger ones. So often my mutagen slots stay empty, because I never loot good mutagens in the greater form.
- The game needs a way to go back to some areas or any other solution to the problem that really valuable perks or items are so easily missable. (For example the AC easter egg in the prologue that can be easily missed, but gives a valuable perk.)
- The tutorial should be improved. As it is, it does not teach to fight, because it ends as soon as Geralt dies in the tutorial. There should be an option to continue fighting. How else should the player learn?
- The Kayran fight is pretty frustrating, because You have to follow a chreographed plan. The fight is easy, even on hard mode, when You know what to do, but impossible, if You don´t. I´d prefer it to be just a fight were I as player could decide how to fight. Also the fact that the trap takes more time than Yrden is bad - and if You do not use it, it stays in the inventory forever.
- Hitboxes, delay time and animations in fights would gain from an overhaul...
- Better maps. The game needs maps that match the way Geralt can move.
And that is all ... I would not wish to change the graphics, the music, the story, ....

2 was way too short, i wouldnt mind if they added more to it, as long as it follows the original story
The first and second is necessary. I wish they had both for the PS4. If these new over priced consoles are so great, why aren't they back track compatible??

While I did think that the Witcher 2 mechanics are a bit outdated (like many players I’m sure I played Witcher 3 first, then went back and played 2), I found it manageable, though like you I certainly wouldn’t moan at a remake. Though for the time being I’m very much looking forward to the Witcher 1 remake, as I’ve never actually played that, just watched a playthrough on YT.
I really wanted to play it a couple of weeks ago but every time I finished speaking to Triss and actually got to control Geralt the game would crash. Tried every fix I could find to no avail so I ended up uninstalling and giving up on ever playing it
I just want to be able to play it on PlayStation. The fact I can soon play the Witcher 1 and 3 but not 2 disappoints me greatly
I would love to play the first 2 games. I can get Witcher II on Xbox 360 if need be though. But no remake, just a remaster with improvements because a lot of remakes have been trash.

I think there's too much chance a remake about The Witcher 2, and even more for the first, to fail. Being able to keep all the good in those games, with so much to improve technically and for new players, must be so hard. I would prefer new games over remakes but still, if they can pull it off, I will obviously be there to enjoy it.
I wasn't planning on watching season 3, but you and xLetalis both were way kinder on it than I expected. Now I think maybe I should give it a chance, especially since this is Henry Cavill's last season.

i'd prob appreciate witcher 2 remake more than witcher 1 tbh. i played witcher 1 when it first came out and now a few years ago, but in witcher 2 i have like, 2hrs, i completely couldn't get into it and get a grip on controls, so i just gave up - esp that i was trying it only to know what's going on before first playing witcher 3. but i like the story when i read/watch summaries about it - i'd like to actually play it. and side with iorveth, obviously
I would give it a Wild Hunt style "Complete Edition" upgrade and nothing more, just improving the mechanics, giving it a new coat of paint and control scheme and interface parity with Wild Hunt, perhaps add a handful of things like giving characters that do not appear in Wild Hunt proper sendoffs.
Just honestly release that alongside The Witcher Remake.

TW2 it's only twelve years old and it's still a very enjoyable game and I would not like to see a remake of it, not even a TW1 one. I'm getting tired of all remaster, remake and reboot thing because it's like if we're seeing all the sacrifices that CDPR had to make in order to develop TW1 and 2 as errors that need to be fixed. Dude, TLOU came only two years after TW2 and already have a remake, it's just plain sick.
I think TW1 and 2 are fine as it is, and the only thing that CDPR should do it's to port those games into new systems just like BioWare did with Mass Effect, nothing else.
The Mass Effect "Legendary Edition" borked the lighting.
W2 gameplay is very clunky. Graphics and the world are okay, but gameplay, especially combat and UI are incredibly clunky and painful.
Also the story is way too fucking political and not enough witcher contract feel
