This actually works pretty good. My girlfriend hit a deer on a 75 mph highway earlier in the month, and the vehicle immediately dialed the Toyota safety center after it detected that the front airbags were deployed. They then called 911 so someone could get to her and make sure she was ok. Since the deer hit the front, most of the impact was absorbed by the engine compartment. Rav is totaled, but all parties inside were ok. RIP deer, though.

Hi ! I have 2020 Toyota Corolla LE bought brand new in September 2020 registered in Ontario, Canada. So far I am very much happy with my car.
My car is equipped with Adaptive cruise control, Auto high beam activation system, LTA, PCS and BMS.
I saw some review videos of same model which are equipped with RSA (road sign assist) feature too which is missing in my car.
Should I visit toyota service center to get some sort of software update so that my car can get that RSA feature.
    Will wait for the reply.

I purchased a 2019 Avalon Touring and this tech should have been included. Many manufactures offer auto emergency braking, though no Toyota’s do. They include language alluding to this tech and the sales people don’t know what the car offers when you ask. There should be an industry standard language for all safety features. Otherwise, consumers are confused by “emergency brake mitigation alert” vs “the system may warn you or may not before you hit the pedestrian running across the street.”

At least some, if not most, Toyota dealerships are quite aware of vehicle feature. Not at the level an adept user achieves, of course, but plenty to make it clear what your purchase intention vehicle has for equipment. That information is posted on vehicle information sheets posted on all vehicles for sale. Inform yourself. Ignorance is a personal responsibility, inform yourself from available information.
