Solo Wild Camping in the lake district | Chasing Wainwrights in Challenging Condition

- Join me on an exhilarating wild camping and hiking expedition in the stunning Lake District, where I set out on a mission to bag several Wainwright peaks. My ambitious plan included conquering Caw Fell, Haycock, Scoat Fell, Steeple, Pillar, Great Gable, Green Gable, Brandreth, Grey Knotts, Haystacks, High Crag, High Stile, Red Pike, Starling Dodd, and Great Borne. However, nature had other ideas in store.
As I navigated the rugged terrain, I encountered challenging weather conditions and poor visibility. Faced with the daunting ascent of Pillar and concerns for safety, I made the tough decision to descend towards Mosedale. Little did I know that this route would present its own set of challenges, with scree-covered slopes and limited visibility.
While my original plan might not have panned out as expected, this journey was a test of my hiking and navigation skills. The Lake District's rugged beauty never fails to inspire, even in less-than-ideal conditions. The experience was a reminder of the unpredictable nature of outdoor adventures and the need for adaptability.

Cheers Mark, I really thought I would get a decent weekend early in the week, but knew by Friday it was going to be pretty bad on the tops. Think if I stayed up high I would have been able to get a few more hills the following day. Was a beautiful view to wake up to though. Makes it all worth while!

Thanks :) time is always the major enemy, made worse because I used all my annual leave on the coast to coast! I would like to use public transport more but it takes so much extra time.
