Solo Wild Camping Adventure in Yorkshire Dales | 1 very wet night & 1st Campwild Experience

- Join me on my latest solo wild camping escapade as I immerse myself in the captivating landscapes of the Yorkshire Dales. This trip was my first using the innovative wild camping company, Campwild. I meticulously timed my adventure to coincide with the peak of the awe-inspiring Perseid meteor showers imagining a stunning hike followed by a night under the stars, witnessing one of the most dazzling celestial spectacles… However, as nature often does, it threw me a curveball. After a week of ideal weather, my day unfolded with persistent rain and blustery winds.
The rain persisted throughout the day, oscillating between a gentle mist and heavy downpours. It even managed to breach my waterproof gear by the end! Thanks to my booking with Campwild, I could set up camp relatively early, granting a respite from the challenging elements.
The night mirrored the day's weather, with sleep remaining a fleeting luxury. I still managed to get some sleep, and was lucky to get some breaks in the rain to pack away in the morning before leaving no trace!

It is a lovely sound. I did spend a lot of time just laying down and listening, in and out of naps. Not so keen on hearing it in the morning when I know I have to pack away though!

Yes the tent did stay dry, a little bit of rain managed to blow in via the vent, but not much.
