Wild Camping and Hiking Adventure in the Peak District - Battling the Elements on Kinder Scout

- Join me on an epic wild camping and hiking journey in the breathtaking Peak District, where I set out with the goal of camping atop Kinder Scout. However, as often happens in the world of outdoor adventures, plans don't always unfold as expected - especially when you don't pay attention to your maps!
Despite careful mapping out my route, I missed the turning and went backwards along my route, making me push for time and ultimately I set up camp at 430 meters on the north side of Kinder Scout, just a few miles short.
Throughout the adventure, I faced brutal weather conditions, with strong winds buffeting me along the tops of the hills, with rain almost constantly coming in on the winds. Falling just short of my camp spot allowed me to take some shelter rather than facing the exposed tops.
From the iconic Stanage Edge to the tranquil shores of Ladybower Reservoir, and from the challenging ascent of Kinder Scout to the picturesque paths beneath Bamford Edge, this journey encapsulated the essence of the Peak District.

Nice one Chris for being back out and about. I sympathize mate - I've had an in jury for 3 years, which has largest kept me off the trails and away from camping. Getting there mow but I get it. Great new tent - looks to have bags of room - gotta watch cooking inside though eh? Next time it might not be water - could be a flame. Well, a wet one again - yeah you seem to get them. Thanks Mark. The back pain is quite bad, had it a few years ago as well which stopped me doing the Yorkshire world's way with my friend. Hope you've managed to get over yours, I have been avoiding watching stuff online while I've been injured, makes me too jealous! And yeah, need to be careful with cooking! A foolish mistake, normally I hold it while it boils, but really thought it was stable! Still, a good one to show the realities of camping to people!
