The Hybrid Shooter is the best camera reviewer on youtube. His professional answering questions is very helpful. Just subscribed.
Thank you, I appreciate your subscription!
I'm still using a GH4 and I've rented various cams depending of my needs. I thought about finally getting the GH5 now that it's on sale and nope, not anymore. I'll get the X-S10 instead.
Thank you so much for this review!
Thank you so much for this video. I'm moving from my beloved Oly em5 m2 to this camera but choosing to move from the size & convenience of mft...your video is the first one to truly convince me that the move is the right one (!and I've watched SCORES of vids)!. Fuji was the first to make my awesome camera with the sensor it deserves. Fortunately I'm not in TOO deep with mft glass. APSC glass costs more. Worth it though, I hope.
Thanks for this well composed and detailed review. To the point and very informative.
Always look forward to your awesome reviews!
Thank you!
This is an excellent, informative video. Good job!
Excellent review, thanks!
Another great review, William, thorough as ever. Quite an impressive little camera - maybe pair it with an XT-4 and you've got a solid A and B cam combo.
Thank you!
Thanks for another very informative review. This is a great interchangeable lens value. 📷✌🏻
You're welcome, it indeed is.
Thanks! Very informative. I only do still photography and this should be great. Subscribed. Keep up the great work.
Awesome review. I have subscribed to your because you provide excellent reviews and also reply to our questions.
This was very helpful! Thanks!
I 've been watching your channel for awhile now. Your review was great 🙂. I visited your city once, "Batislava" so beautiful. After watch your video I decide to pre order fuji xs-10 can't wait to shoot.
Thank you! I'm glad that you liked it here.
Brartislava is indeed a really nice place. In the next video, do a shoot of Čumil, will you?
Great review. I’m upgrading to the X-S10 from a Panasonic G7, very excited for the preorder to arrive!
You’re gonna like it I switched from the g7 back in June to an Xt-30 and I’ve been loving it wish it had ibis but you’ll be getting that with the x-s10
@@Itsvicu xt 30 doesnt has 4k 60 right?
@@myerwerl yes it doesn’t
@@SamWall I love it I really wish it had ibis and a flip screen and kept the size but Fuji hasn’t made one like that yet but it’s still really nice. If you’re talking about the Panasonic gx80 I actually got that camera first and then returned it for this one. The Xt30 feels way more premium than the gx80 the whole body is metal and the dials feel nice and clicky and it looks a lot nicer in my opinion ive gotten a lot of compliments on the looks of the camera. Over all it feels very well thought out. I will say though I do miss the size of the Panasonic lens as it’s micro 4/3s camera so some lens are smaller but as far as body they are pretty much the same size I pair my Xt30 with the xc 35 f2 and though it is a bit bigger it takes very nice photos has nice bokeh and the auto focus is way better on the Xt30 than gx85.
@@SamWall I haven’t tired the 18-55 though I’ve only heard good things from it but if you’re looking for a small good video lens or more all in one lens I’d def recommend the 15-45 f3.5 it’s the kit lens that comes with it and though the build quality isn’t the best it’s the smallest stabilized zoom lens so I love it for that bc I like to take my camera with me everywhere and I don’t want to have to bring a big bag for it so I want to keep the package as small as possible so it makes it easier to move around with.
I like the smaller size, light weight and larger grip on XS10 but I also like the 4K 60fps, touch screen AF and water proof in XT4, especially it just cost $200 US more in HK...hard to choose
Just bought one used. Figured it was a good way to start with mirrorless for a smaller size. If like it I can upgrade to a XH2S for hybrid shooting in the future.
Amazing video, thank you so much. I would also very much like it if you could make a video comparing this camera with the Sony Alpha 6400.
So very helpful, so very useful, and so clearly laid out.
Thank you!
I write this comment at the very beginning of the video (during the as for Galaxy Note20, no less). I have to tell you, I've been wondering when you'd publish your review as you are one of my favourite reviewers. I'm glad you did. Now let's watch... AFTER the review: another good review, thanks. I really want this camera. That said, f course, if money were no object, I'd get the Sony A7SIII. In the Fuji world, I would of course prefer the X-T4 (for its size as I do have big hands; for top specs in terms of future-proofing - my Macs at the time are a bit too weak for 4K anyway; for the battery and weather sealing), but is it really worth the 700 euro difference for a beginner who has to consider financial aspects now that the COVID situation made me lose a lot of jobs)?! I think not. So yeah, hopefully, I'll find a way to get me the X-S10, also thanks to you.
As always a very comprehensive review. The only thing I think that wasn't mentioned whether it can be powered while being charged.
Thank you, yes it can.
I wanted to buy the sony alpha 6400 or the fujifilm xe-4, but because of this video I see how effective the ibis is! (I know he was using a lens with ois on some tests, but still!)
this really seems like the best crop sensor camera for the price!
You know what Make your videos great???? That you only apear on camera when its needed! And you Make the camera the star of the video! Thanks a lot!
Thank you! I also prefer looking at the product instead of someone's face.
Delighted to see these beautiful views of Bratislava. Only had a day there, would love to get back some time.
I went there one winter and wasn't able to explore too much.
But I wish to go back in summer someday !
The best review bro!
Thank you!
Thanks for your thoughts on the x-s10... most trustworthy source on YT :-)
Thank you!
Thanks for a great review as always! This is a grat camera!
You’re welcome, thank you for watching!
Great review man. I'm really interested in this camera coming from a7s3
Thank you! A7S III is completely different league though.
Can't wait to get mine
Gosh that body just looks like such a nice design and size
which do you prefer considering the lumix g9 is pretty much in the same category and shares most features at the same price except for weather sealing?
Thank you very much!
Very useful thank you
My pleasure, thank you for watching!
Great review as always. Im looking for a hybrid camera and dont know for sure which to pick between lumix g9 , fuji xt3 and xs10 they all are under the same price tag and i think each has it's short comings g9 im afraid of low light performance and video autofocus but i really like the ibis and 10 bit video and other features like hi res. While the xt3 only lacks the ibis for me and i think this is going to be annoying especially in video because i will always have to use a gimbal while the xs10 lacks 10 bit and dont have features like the lumix to make for an easier workflow
Thank you! I would take Fuji's 8-bit with Eterna and better SNR over 10-bit in Panasonic, so I would go for X-S10.
very very very nice review. thumbs up!
Thank you!
Thanks for an excellent review. Looks like a good entry camera to try the system.
Does it have a remote release socket since it does not have the screw in socket in the shutter release?
The main downside for me is the battery, but I am OK with that. Just wish they had stuck with the flippy screen only, but I can see they need to change as most people want the rotatable screen, even though that hinge looks very fragile.
You're welcome! I'm not sure, but I think that the remote control is only possible via smartphone app.
Great review as usual . When you say it’s the best APSC sensor , where does it stands out compared to Sony and Nikon D7/5 thousand series camera sensor for stills ?
I prefer this sensor over 20 MP sensor in Nikon and old 24 MP Sony sensor.
I hope you can compare this with the new Sony zv e10. Thank you
Thank you for the grate review. Do you think fuji x s10 will be a good 1st camera for hybrid use.
You’re welcome, yes, I think so.
Can you set the ISO to the left dial?
So informative 👍
Thank you!
If they put two card slots and 4k 60, it will make great backup tp X-T4, but I do understand the price/performance balance. Such an attractive offering!
Such package wouldn’t really make sense within their lineup.
Great review ! I think the xs10 is a great travel camera considering the weight and compact size. Do you prefer the 18-55 or the 16-80 kit lens for travel, landscape photography and also video? Also is there a big difference in IBIS performance compared to xt4?
Thank you, I prefer 18-55, but the extra range of 16-80 might be very useful for travelling. I haven't tested the IBIS side by side, and it is a pre-production unit, so I can't answer that.
Trying to understand your assessment of this 26Mp Fuji Sensor I have a question. You are saying Fuji ISO scale is different to Sony‘s. So assuming exposure / brightness of a photo of the same scene taken with Sony and Fuji should appear similar to the viewers eye the ISO on the Sony is to be lower and on Fuji it is higher. So naturally I would assume the Sony to show less grain / better low light performance.
Also comparing the scoring of Sony / Fuji sensor on dpreview the older Sony sensor scores a little bit better.
What do you think about these two considerations?
And thanks for the review!
Thank you for the quality information you provide. Need your help in my deliberation on choosing an additional camera body for my lunix g9. Looking for the short term and debating between the sony a7c and fuji xs10
If you get the A7C you will probably sell the G9 shorty after and move to larger sensor, so I recommend A7C.
Great video! Could you perhaps make a comparison video between this and the a6400/6600? Thanks!
Thank you, I will try to do so later on.
@@TheHybridShooter Thank you! Love your videos. Quality has been top notch since the start
Superb review. I'm strongly considering this as a replacement for my A6000 (which I just sold, BTW). I really like the compact form factor that so closely resembles the Sony A6X00 series. Was looking at the X-T200/A6400, but this certainly looks to be a better overall package for an additional $300-$400. How did you find the stock 18-55 lens? is that casual photography and vlogging friendly?
Thank you, 18-55 is a good all-round lens but probably too narrow for vlogging.
Just received mine 👍
Great video! This camera almost seems perfect however I plan on using my camera in sub 32F temperatures. Does that make this not an option without the weather sealing?
I think weather sealing and cold rating are separate considerations. I believe (as with anything delicately designed, cameras, other electronics, musical instruments), the issues are rapid shifts in temperature and moisture/condensation related issues....
Picked mine up just two hours ago, absolutely great little camera with a few drawbacks but it still punches way above it's pricepoint.
What are the drawbacks u have noticed?
Hi, primarily the smaller battery compared to the X-T4 and the Viewfinder is a bit smaller (but still on par with similar priced cameras like Sony A6600 and such).
A few video codecs are missing, which doesn't matter if it's primarily for youtube.
The display is again, just on par with similar priced options for Sony, worse then the X-T4 screen, but still fine.
Some see the modern Control Scheme as a drawback, i personally don't.
But gosh darn, that sensor makes all these little things so unimportant. You get an X-T4 lite essentially. It's one of the best rounded cameras in recent months. The grip and feeling is absolutely awesome for my hands. The layout is extremely sensible and it feels quality.
@@DrKartoffelsalat thanks for the reply...
@@DrKartoffelsalat How do you like using the color profiles?
@@ray32825 The filmsimulations are the reason to get Fuji. Spectacular colours and usuable result straight out of camera. My favorite is Classic Chrome.
Great work! Tell me, the bottons still feel cheppy in comparison with 5d series cameras?
Thank you! I have never used 5D cameras, but I have no complaints about the buttons.
Very professional review!
Thank you!
@@TheHybridShooter Your welcome
After years of shooting with Nikon's then switching to canon for a number of years I switched several years ago to oly mainly also for ibis and for small compactness with its range of pro lenses. Have always been fascinated by Fuji and just made the plunge for the x-s10 with initially the 16-80 f4 as an overall go to lens for photography but also equally video which I do a lot of. Depending on how this goes and if I feel it has been worth the switch in which case I will sell all my oly stuff and move across which second lens might you recommend especially for video - was thinking 23 mm f2? The 16 F1.4 sound great for photography and bokwh but also large and expensive. Zooms seem to be better for video. I suppose the 50-140 might be another option for the future. Any other recommendations especially for video (quietness and smoothness of autofocus)?
Take a look at my X-T4 long term review, I have talked about my favorite lenses there - bit.ly/X-T4LongTermReview
Hi, great well thought out review. I'm really trying to find one bit of information that every review seems to have missed. How are the pre amps for audio recording? I loved my XT100 but it was useless for video as the audio sounded like you were recording with a chorus of hissing adders. Any information much appreciated :)
Thank you! Unfortunately, I haven’t tested that.
@@TheHybridShooter Thanks anyway.
They are usable but not class leading. I’ve used mine with a lapel/lav mic and a shotgun mic and it sounds good enough for CZcams videos, but I would recommend issuing it with a mic that has an external preamp to reduce noise for professional videos. An external recorder would avoid this obviously.
@@ZachariahConnor Thank you!
gonna update my xt2 to this nice cam..waiting for IBIS in fuji mid range body for quite sometimes and i am very excited when xs10 is announced. so far it does not disappoint, just wish it use the new batt tho..
Wonderful review sir. I'm new to "real"photography - what lens would you recommend for food photography, sometimes in low light, indoor restaurant photography, and some street photography? Is it possible to have one lens for all? Thank you.
23 1.4 if you don't mind the inferior focusing.
I’m a new subscriber and I love your content. What city are you based in? It’s a very beautiful city!
Thank you, it is Bratislava.
The x-t3 now is sub-1000 too ($999). I guess the stabilization and size are on the x-s10 side whereas viewfinder, weather sealing, battery and some video specs on the t3 side. The buffer size as well.
Both use the same battery.
@@TheHybridShooter My bad, that was improved in the X-t4.
Excellent review...this seems to be great camera in 1000$ price range...
Thank you! It indeed is.
@@drmsm-muhammadsarang lot better
@@drmsm-muhammadsarang but the only drawback is x-s10 don't support hlg and currently x-s10 don't have battry grip yet
Which one should I get xt3 Or xs10?
Hi, I want to ask: on my X S-10, the rear scroll wheel is very tight (sometimes stops dead) and the "Rec" button makes a clicking sound. Is this normal for Fuji? Because before that I was using Canon and did not know such problems...
Truly a great camera for the price 💯
It indeed is.
Thankyour for the review sir :) I am so so new to this and I want to buy my first camera..
which one is better x-s10 or xt3? In my country the price is the same, I've been watching your few vid and still can't decide
Probably the X-S10 because of the IBIS.
What is the tripod you use in photo and video for the Fuji XT4?
Do you have a video kneecap to make panoramic movements?
I use iFootage TC5 - czcams.com/video/QeFPe5JyZ8M/video.html
Great review bro. Hmm but what do you prefer XT-3 or XS10? 80% for photography.
Probably the x-s10 because of the IBIS
Is there already a huge improvement compared to the X-H1 when it comes to image quality?
Would never sell the X-H1 because of the better handling and better ergonomics (also more useful buttons), but for hiking the X-S10 would be great.
I would say yes, I much prefer new X-Trans sensor.
Thanks for the review. What is your recommended lens for shooting videos on XS10?
You're welcome! As always, depends on the budget and use case.
@@TheHybridShooter Thanks for the quick response. I wanted to make documentaries. It will have landscape/Architecture and interviews. I am an amateur and don't want to spend huge amount higher than the price of the camera. I wanted to have decent professional output.
In that case probably 18-55 F2.8-4 or 16-55 F2.8 if you budget allows it.
@@TheHybridShooter Thanks a lot.
A question: can you set autofocus in video to focus more gradually, not jump so quickly, so it would look like in films (where focus is by hand and a smooth passage from one thing to another)?
Yes, as I have mentioned in the video, speed depends on the custom settings.
Since I don't know, I'll ask. What's it like with ibis and lens stabilizing at the same time?
There are some samples shown in the video.
Nice review , I am confused between xt3 and s-x10 for landscape photography , is there any difference in image quality between these two cameras ?
No, image quality is the same. The feature set is quite different though.
@@TheHybridShooter thanks for the reply I will go with xt3 ,weather sealing is important for me specially for street and landscape photography!thank you !
Can you recommend combining the X-S10 with the 35mm f1.4 for autofocus video work?
Or is the AF too slow and noisy?
Thanks
I have never tested that lens.
Nice review tho, Just ordered mine this morning :) more videos to follow 👍
Hello 👋 I m new to fujifilm xs10 system looking for either 23mm f1.4 R or 23mm f2, which one should I choose for better image quality, want your honest response, thanks alot 🤩
full HD video also limetted to 30 minutes?
Did the lens feel too close to the grip with the 16mm 1.4? I want to buy this camera but I'm worried about the larger faster primes. Like the 56 1.2
As far as I remember, 16mm F1.4 was OK, but I haven't tried it with larger lenses.
Another excellent review 👏 I like this new camera and would love it if it were weather sealed for a bit more money.
Thank you! I would also have to be much larger to be weather sealed.
Can you please tell me in fuji XS 10 is it possible to display the image via HDMI and to the camera screen at the same time?
Yes, it is.
How does this stack up to the Sony a6400? Which I have, and thinking to trade it for XS10. Thanks for your input!
X-S10 is a better camera overall.
@@TheHybridShooter I appreciate the info!
Nice review. Here in shanghai xs10 is comparable to the a6400 in price (around 100 more). I played with both in store and can’t make up my mind.... as a hybrid shooter which will pick? Why? Thanks I value your opinion and content 🙂
X-S10 unless you have a lot of other E-mount equipment.
@@TheHybridShooter cheers!
@@TheHybridShooter thankyouu!
Will be good to compare this to the Canon RP which you can get for $999 with the RF 24-105 lens, for photos I would think RP would be better
I don't think so. RP just uses a ton of really outdated technology. Even M43 sensor beats that old 20MP 6D II in terms of dynamic range.
@@TheHybridShooter I like the ironic flavor in some of your answers !
I have a lot of M4/3 lenses. Should I upgrade to a Lumix G9 or just go with the X-s10?
Just go with X-S10
Nice video, thanks ! For you, what's it the best lens for XT4 for photos (landscape, portrait, street photography) but also for video. I'm concerned by the lack of choices. In the past, I wanted to buy an Olympus Em1-Mark III because it has superb optics, stabilized and tropicalized (40-150 2.8/ 10-25 1.7); but i hesitate between Fuji XT4 (better sensor and low light performance)... :(
I have talked about my favorite lenses in X-T4 long term video - czcams.com/video/6j5EAjDDPRw/video.html
Would you take this over the discounted XT3 for a primarily video use case? I’m thinking XS10 will be good because my computer wouldn’t be able to handle 10 bit files anyways, once I need 10 bit I’ll just buy an external recorder. I’m so close to buying it haha
Depends on whether your prefer IBIS or video specs. 10-bit usually doesn't require more processing power.
@@TheHybridShooter would I need a lot more storage with 10 bit though? Hmm yeah it’s a tough choice for me, I think I would enjoy utilizing cheaper third party lenses with that ibis

Hello, my fellow countryman, I am beginner switching from smartphone to proper camera living in the rainy UK and mainly looking for video first, pictures second... I am deciding between A6400 with 18-135 kit lens and XS10 with 15-45 kit lens, they are both around +-1000 at the moment, which is my budget...
I like screen, grip, stabilisation, and film filters on XS10 and for A6400 I like the moisture-resistant body, lots of accessories and tutorials, no record limit/overheating, colour profiles (maybe I will get into to colour grading later)...
What would you recommend?
Hi, that is difficult question. X-S10 is better camera, but 15-45 lens is not that great. If you intend to buy more lenses later, I would go with Fuji, if not, Sony kit might be better.
Moisture resistant on Sony basically just means "not weather sealed".
@@TheHybridShooter Thanks, so basically both have the same "weather resistance" performance?
Will X-S10 survive a little bit of rain? I wouldn't use it in a downpour, but I don't want to be scared from a few drops of water on the camera...
And regarding the kits lens, X-S10 also comes with XF 16-80 f4 for 400 more and XF 18-55 2.8-4 for 300 more... Is it worth it to pay extra for those lenses even for beginner?
Thanks for the answer man, really appreciate it...
Yes, both will survive light rain. 18-55 is better optically, but 16-80 offers more versatile focal range, so it depends on what you prefer.
Both are worth the extra over 15-45.
i nailed the location of the photo location at 1:32. very proud of myself given that i can't travel anymore cause of... you know. smfhahaha
Would you get a used but mint Xh1 for £600 no grip or xs10 £950 new
New X-S10.
How does this camera compare to ZV-1? It seems like the most direct competitor at the moment.
Those are definitely not direct competitors. They are too different to be compared in any way. The most direct competitor is probably Sony A6600.
The Hybrid Shooter how about xs10 vs A7c?
I’m debating selling my Sony a6400 and Sigma 16/30mm primes and going with the X-S10 and either the Fuji 23/50 f2 or Viltrox 23/56 f1.4. Thoughts on the overall move and Fuji primes vs Viltrox? I do 75% photo and 25% video. Usually shoot around f2 anyhow...
Might also skip the wider prime and go with the 18-55 kit and either the Fuji 50mm f2 or Viltrox 56mm f1.4.
I think you won't be as spoilt by lens choice with Fuji as with Sony. The price difference in lenses is also pretty big as far as I've seen?
@@AlexTheGreatish true but the Fuji 18-55 is a great value compared to Sony zooms and I’m not looking to expand to full frame or beyond my current Sigma primes. Fuji seems like a better choice for me since I’m very interested in shooting JPEG 90% of the time and better Out of camera video would be nice.
@@patrick-resendiz It's just unfortunate Fuji doesn't have something equivalent to the Sigma trio. I'd really love that 16mm 1.4 on the x-s10 but the price for the Fuji fast lenses are a bit too high
@@AlexTheGreatish totally agree! Here’s to hoping Sigma adapts the prime trio to Fuji mount this year.
@@AlexTheGreatish Sigma's F1.4 primes for X-mount should be released next year.
I owned a Canon Powershot G1 20 years ago that also had the flip-out screen. That is one of the main reasons I bought the X-S10. It just adds so much versatility.
I'm looking for a video camera to use in studio condition under 500$ (new) any suggestions I'm planning to get G7 I'd love to get some other recommendations.
G7 seems to be the best choice, although there isn't really any "complete" camera under 500.
@@TheHybridShooter how about fujifilm x-t200?
Great review! For me this camera was tempting. Get great dynamic range and more resolution but I felt there was too many compromises to overall performance in comparison to the Olympus E-M5 III and when the E-M1 II is on sale for the same price. E-M5 III has faster burst, much larger buffer, better shutter mech of 1/8000, UHS-II card slot and weather sealed. The E-M1 II is the older bigger brother with even faster burst, larger buffer, dual card slots and better grip. I stuck with my decision in buying Olympus since I have all the lenses. However I will be keeping my eye on Fujifilm and see what will happen to Olympus the next couple years. The X-S10 w/16-80mm is a very attractive price at $1499 and this isn't a sales price. I could still see this as my transition starting with this kit, telephoto, a couple primes and a macro, then later getting a better body later on.
Thank you! That mostly depends on your preferences. For me, the old M43 sensor is a no-go in late 2020, especially if I can have latest BSI APS-C at the same price, so I am happy with the switch to X-mount.
@@TheHybridShooter yes, I agree about the sensor. I really don't need any more lenses or bodies for the next few years. Based on what I see in a couple years will determine if I'm getting the new 100mm macro lens that's on the road map and maybe one other lens. If they continue to lack a sizable upgraded sensor and/or Olympus is still struggling after under the ownership of JIP then most likely in three years time I will be mostly switched over to a different brand of cameras. I may keep my Olympus camera bodies with the my 75-300mm and 60mm but sell off my other five lenses to go towards my replacement.
Did you have any jumping exposure issues?
No, Fujifilm fixed that on most cameras earlier this year.
