Your analysis capacity is just brilliant. 1 year ago Russia was terrified of ucranian winter and we all know that Russia is very warm country, they don't know what cold weather is, just look at an history book. 11 months ago you said russian army was exausted and underequiped (soldiers using spades to fight was on every news channel). 6 months ago your question was if Ukraine could get Crimea back. Now you wonder if Ukraine has lost the war?

11 months ago the Russian army and reserves that were fielded on the Ukrainian border were exhausted. They had used up most of the old reserve equipment, many had died and the replacements were as bad as prisoners with the worst equipment Russia had to offer. Unfortunately for Ukraine, Russia was training another 150k fresh troops while pulling in another 70k for training as well, they retooled and sourced new production and raw resource lines for their military equipment and added much in the way of completely new equipment and modern war doctrine. The Ukraine is now getting slowly ground down by the new equipment and new troops with training in new warfare doctrine coming to and overwhelming the Ukrainians who are running out of mercenaries, running out of conscripts and running out of equipment. The problem with these green analysis types is they don't understand the impact of logistics. Russia understands logistics. Logistics defeated every western invader into Russian territory for around 400 years.

The US did not give Ukraine what we thought was needed. We gave Ukraine what we could within the confines of the aid budget. Any US general would have told you to F off if asked to assault with what Ukraine had available.
Ukraine split the Bradleys up and stationed them in the hot spots ALL ALONG the front lines, rather than concentrating them all on one spot like US wargamers intended (not because 200 was enough for an assault, but because that was the best we could do). And Ukrainians were right to do that, because we massively underestimated the density and size of minefields. There was never going to be a breakthrough in 2023 with such limited resources. That was just wishful thinking on our part.

200 Bradleys would be significant in autumn 2022, after the Kharkov and Kherson offensive. Russian morale was low, Ukraine had momentum, but the west decided to limit support because they didn't want to "humiliate" Russia so they slowed down their supplies. Russians built thousands of kilometers of fortified trenches and laid millions of mines, while Ukraine was waiting for heavy equipment they needed to continue. Now it's too late. Bradleys are not designed to plow through minefields.

The money also comes from sanctions, since they deny transfer them from Russia to the US/EU, so the oligarchs have no choice but invest in Russia. And one of the main sources is the new population - the people of the new regions. While it's true that some of Donetsk/Lugansk men relocated to Ukraine, most of the population is (and was) extremely pro-Russian. Now they contribute to the economy and to the war power as well. This assessment rather assumes that conflicts are binary: win or lose. Things aren’t that simple. We have lots of examples of frozen conflicts. The sides effectively fight to a stalemate. Neither side can win a decisive victory. We then enter a rather different, longer-term dynamic. This is actually quite common in the former Soviet space. Most conflicts have become frozen. This could well be the most likely scenario in Ukraine too. This could suit Russia now. Moscow would claim that it has what it wants, and need not press ahead any further. The longer term battle then becomes political. Will the West eventually decide that it is better to engage with Russia than maintain sanctions. It is a medium to long strategy. But again, this goes beyond a standard military analysis.

Stalemate is just a euphemism for Ukraine debacle. Zelenskyy is running out of cannon fodder. He fired his top general ( who paid at least lip service to common sense) and replaced him with his minion (Politico quotes Ukrainian soldiers calling him a butcher in an article "Zaluzhny is out, the ‘butcher’ is in") that wasted lives of close to 100 000 Ukrainian troops trying to hold Bakhmut when all escape routes were under Russian fire control and then launching wave after wave of suicidal counterattacks for months trying and failing to recapture the city. Even NYT noticed in desperation: "Bakhmut has become something of an obsession for Mr. Zelensky and his military leaders. " Western allies are running out of ammo. Zelenskyy offensive proved to be an epic unmitigated disaster. Russians rejected any freeze of the conflict. Putin spokesperson said quite bluntly that all Russian goals had to be met (denazification, demilitarization and a neutral status of Ukraine). At this point unconditional surrender is the only practical solution for Ukraine. Hitler's Germany also refused to admit defeat until Hitler killed himself, then Keitel signed unconditional surrender.

He is of Russian blood, born in Russia and grew up there, studied there, and his mom and brother both live in Russia and regularly post pro-Russian stuff on twitter/X. He is a Soviet Russian with Soviet Russian tactics - they work great if you are Marshal Zhukov with hordes of men and massive industrial capacity. They do not work if you are smaller and poorer than your enemy. Everyone who isn't a Russian or a brainwashed westerner who doesn't understand the situation misses Zaluzhny. *Edit* but surrender is unacceptable. Better to fight like the Viet cong or Afghans. We have experienced Russian rule in all of its genocidal brutality before. We have seen how Russians behaved in occupied areas towards ethnic Ukrainians. Right... describe to me what a Ukrainian victory actually looks like. This channel has been saying for literally years that the Russians are on their last legs/won't succeed. The front line that the Russians maintain today is practically the same as it was a couple of months into the war. If they wanted to advance further, the reality is that they could. The Ukrainian military is toast. Russia has 300,000 reserve troops on the border and can reastically hope to mobilise a further million. Meanwhile, Ukraine has lost more troops in this war than the Americans did in the entirety of the Second World War. Continuing to fund this war in order to protect democracy, and a "democratic state," will be regarded as the main catalyst for Western downfall in the future should our many idiot politicians not have a major change of course soon. STOP THE WAR and STOP THE KILLING. We (the collective West) are responsible for this war and it is now our responsibility to halt it. Negotiate now!

You said: "Ukrainian army went from 150k troops to >700k" but in 02.2022 Ukraine had a total of 250k (150k of which were combat units). You continue with: "About 100k soldiers were trained by NATO countries" but do you know that 90% of these soldiers are not combat ready after their training ? An average soldier that returned to Ukraine from training in (for instance) UK has to be 'thrown into water' - close to combat conditions near the front line. This means that the troops at the frontline take him close enough, say a few km from contact with the enemy to show him what the real war looks like. Some of these 'trained soldiers' went AWOL after seeing all of that, for others it took a month to get used to it and join the fight. There are other factors either not mentioned or not inaccurate...

In THEORY this would work. Only a few problems:
    1. With the current situation, it would take quite some time to increase the production of artillery shells and other weapons. Not sure that Ukraine has that much time left.
    2. You could THEORETICALLY increase production tomorrow by going into a war economy, similar to what the US did after Pearl Harbor. The only problem is, how will you explain it to the population. If the population of Poland and the Baltics take a hypothetical Russian threat seriously, Germany, France, the U.S. and UK don’t. Mind you, it is the latter 4 countries with the theoretical capacity to produce what is needed for Ukraine to win. While Poland and the Baltics simply lack that capacity. So how will you convince them he populations of Western Europe and North America to sacrifice their way of life in favor of a war economy (which involves rationing and suspension of civilian production). Heck, many countries in Europe are already protesting due to their standard of living going down. So unless Russia launches a direct attack to those countries, you can forget about being able to pull off a war economy. Which is why Russia won’t do that. They aren’t stupid. They know that if the populations of the west aren’t threatened directly, there won’t be any direct military involvement from them.
    3. Manpower. Simply put, Ukraine is short on people they could send to the front. Let alone people who have been trained. And it takes about a year to train a soldier, in order for the soldier to be effective. This is just infantry. Not to mentions Artillery and AD operators, and forget about pilots - that takes 3-4 years MINIMUM. The alternative would be to send western troops in. There are 2 ways to go about that: A. Contractors/Mercenaries/Volunteers - very few will go. It is too risky of a proposition. Simply put, they couldn’t possible get enough QUALIFIED western volunteers, that would be needed to turn the tide. B. Direct confrontation between NATO and Russia. This could in theory help Ukraine. But on the flip side, it would give the Russians legitimate reason to strike at NATO territory, and they will strike. After that, it will escalate to the point where it will be -30 in the summer (and I’m not talking about Antarctica). The west knows this and Russia knows this - so there will be no direct confrontation. Simply put, the escalation ladder will be uncontrollable at that point.
As far as conscription in the west goes - this is nonsense and not worth entertaining, for the simple reason that the current generation of under 30 year olds in the west just won’t have it.

I love your idea of a war economy. But if they did, would Putin just counter by sending its country into a war economy? The average age of a Ukrainian soldier is 43, Ukraine does not use its men as meat waves, So having 40 year olds would actually be effective, as they are using good gear. Men in their early 40's are close to what men in their 30's are. So I think foreign conscription can work if we set up a really good system for it.

They are used aircraft that have recently been taken out of service by the countries willing to supply them. While the radar can be upgraded rather easily, it won't. We don't want that falling into the wrong hands. All other upgrades would take a hell of a long time and would delay the project by years. The planes Ukraine would be getting are about 6 or 7 generations behind the current F16. Even with training, these planes will just be flying targets for the Russian SU57. It is more manuverable, carries a bigger payload, the weapons system has a longer range. It is just a much better plane. Long story short, Ukraine is done. 2:25 Your definition of "strategic patience" is completely off. Russia is indeed fighting a "war of attrition" and so is Ukraine, but that is completely different from strategic patience. The latter is Iran's strategy whereby they refrain from engaging in pre-emptive or reactive invasions and full-scale wars, instead choosing to see how things play out over the course of years and decades.
13:55 Firstly, how is Iran "autocratic" exactly? Khamenei doesn't dictate state policy outside of religion like Putin and Xi Jinping does. That's decided by the lawmakers in parliament and the IRGC. Iran's parliament debates issues, and rival politicians and factions openly criticize the President and the ruling cabinet. Secondly, since when does Iran invade and try to annex countries? Their policy is actually the opposite. They don't want to annex foreign territories and instead back allies because they prefer buffers.
