That version of dragon new warm mountain is so fucking sick
reminds me a whole lot of Lonesome Crowded West (Modest Mouse)
Covered me in goosebumps! What an incredible performance
Yeah that performance of Dragon was utterly gorgeous, because of that tension and discomfort. It was the best part of this show. Pulled my heart and guts right out of my mouth.
Buck looks like he has completed the first Tour de France.
I love that the live footage looks like it was recorded on a VHS camcorder from 1994. Timeless. Also, I just happen to have that same cycling cap that Buck is wearing, cool!
Would’ve bought 10 year old Adrianne’s album in a heartbeat.
I’ve never met them but they feel like some of my closest friends.
On top of their music being brilliant, I really appreciate how Adrianne and crew are so eloquent and insightful talking about gender and their relationship as a band.
omg the Dragon New Warm Mountain louder version is impossibly good

I love this version of the title track so much!
The spirit of Levon and the Band live on through Big Thief. Love it!
So true!
whoever filmed this did a marvelous job
That was a fabulous privelege to hear such ethereal talent speak such earthy truths. Gobsmackingly amazing. My delight in and appreciation of the wonder that is Big Thief has just increaased exponentially. Love and respect to anyone lucky enough to find this gem. Live loud.
came for the painfully honest performance, etherially nonplussed by the comment 👍🏻
Very special people and talented to boot
Incredible. I was moved to tears at several points during this interview. The love they manufacture and share is absolutely precious.
Gosh, this is just so beautiful. Every track is so locked in yet free. Kudos to the sound engineer - the mix is perfect. Amazing performance.
You know what? These guys are really freaking good. Came because of what they’ve been playing from Big Thief on the radio. This makes me want to see them live
I agree I think they're the most interesting band to come out in years, for me anyway
This ist a BAND! Can feel them....
Some crazy Mick Fleetwood vibes on those drums!
Andrienne guitar skills are pretty underrated; in simulation swarn she devoured.
57:45 "sculpturally it's texturally sculptural.....*wait*.....hehehehe" loved the moment of realisation haha
This is one of the best interviews I've ever heard. What a gift. Thanks, 4AD.
18:37 i'm obsessed with this part where Adrianne talks about how she wasn't feeling so great performing 'Dragon New Warm Mountain' & everyone is like "ah I felt alright" & she's like "but could you tell that I felt weird??"
Like one of them said, that tension can make for a really cool performance, and an interesting feel.
Thank god I have been trying to listen to this version of the title track!! They play it like that live and my fiancé and I loved it!!!
I feel like they're the spiritual successors to Dylan and The Band, so appropriate they're at Levon's barn
Here I am struggling to write lyrics as a soon to be 30 year old musician and 10 year old Adrienne's lyrics blow my mind (so good!). Thank you for this wonderful session and interview
The version of the title track - wow, please release that recording
Yeah I want that
the dragon voice plug-in? I was cracking up when they were talking about that, I have to hear it haha
CZcams 2 mp3 converter lol
The fast version of red moon is exceptional. Reminds me of a good Bertha... The bass tone, and the G/C
I would love to get my hands on all that didn't make the cut, if I'm being honest. Big Thief keep an untold umount of masterpieces (pardon the pun) all to themselves.
They keep amazing me. Goosebumps with the title track.
Adrianne always finds a way to talk about parenting the child within & I'm always like ;_;
Have to come into these videos ready to shed a tear from the music & words shared
26:33 "the three of them have mothered me so much" :,(
I cried during each sonf
I feel the same way 🥺
Absolutely fkn marvelous 🙏🏼 thanks from Scotland.,. Amazing Gig Fae Adrianne and the Lads 人¹♡♬ 👏🏼 thanks all ♪~♪♪〜♬〜♫〜♪♪ 〜♪♪~♪~♪ and thanks too 4AD , tremendous treat 🎁 thanks 人
That song she wrote as a ten year-old is better than just about anything on the Spotify top 40 right now.
goosebumps the whole time, beautiful.
This rocks !!
Masters playing their pieces
Love this band!
Big Thief is by far the most interesting and delighting band i've discovered in the last years.
and "so little life" sounds amazing, will defenetely watch this interview and the liveperformances again :)
This was such a beautiful interview and performance, thank you
Just wow!
wow this is so beautiful
need this on spotify
god i fucking love them
Me too bestie
thats such a badass coat!
is anyone in the know for how buck gets all those overtones and harmonics? and is he using a volume pedal to get those dynamics? it sounds so organic yet he does it in every recording it sounds haha
I’m trying to figure out to. I thought at first he was just using volume swelling from the knob on the guitar, but I don’t know if I see him doing that. Must be some weird pedal.
I would pay good money to hear that Sean Everett version of DNWMIBU
wow
Yesssss!!! Wooo hoooo!!!
This is exactly what i wanted to see/hear today!
special humans :')
DNWM sounds amazing in this version 👍
I love you guys
groovy... red moon had some serious grateful dead vibes!
true!
👍👍
26:32 🥺💓
they don't know but besides my dog, they're my best friends
Brilliant!!!
For some reason they remind me of blind melon sometimes. This is a good thing.
That first song so much 🥲❤️
anyone know what performance they're on about with the men kneeling round adrianne?
YIPPPPPP
Buck did that session with Bob Dylan I think??
holy shit at that title track performance
PLEASE release that version of dragon new warm mountain
4ad i love you Please Sign Me.
funny i thought they fell off when adrian adrienne? went solo but cool to see how together they are as a band. solid and wild. good times
they in fact fell more on than ever before
Awesome vid! Any chance we can get an edit with just the songs for repeat listening?
She’s like ducking Shakespeare 🤯 “simulation swarm”
James having a Bonham moment! Big Thief!
why is buck looking like he's from the forebidden planet?
That’s some dress sense.
"like, like, like, like.....you know, like, like!" Kidding aside, love this band.
oh yeah let’s record it digital but make it look analog oh my gosh you guys do you remember the 90s!!!!! wow we are so totally like we are looking like we are in the 90s you guys omgggggg this is so kewl we look so keeewwwll and as we all know it’s all about how you look and not about the music or message at all
Anyone else sick of the sycophantic banging on about gender and stuff? You’re incredible musicians, that’s all that anyone cares about.
Weird he talks about totally forgetting what gender the other person is. That is what normal people are like. We’ve become obsessed with identity and gender and race. It’s not news to standard people that you can forget one’s ‘gender’ or race.
Just saw them perform in Oakland and it was one of the worst shows I've ever been to. No energy. No feeling. Just bratty control.
Really? Damn
what's bratty control ?
@@krisissocoollike what do you think it means? She's a brat asking the band to scale it back; when I saw them live, it was very apparent. One of the worst shows I've ever been to. No feeling behind the music.
@@reptoidfancy666 yikes
“everything is sooooo subjective you guys i’m such a deep thinker with my bicycle cap on i def don’t look like a moron you guyssss” 19:32
After seeing them live, I officially hate this band.... sadly. This is a lesbian jam band.
Lesbian jam band hahaha what is that? Never heard it before. I have never seen these guys live but I really like their music especially their new album
ace music/interview. vhs? oh dear.
