Jesus, this is why I'm glad the internet exists
i cant believe how gentle and sweet Adrianne is and how she can just switch on this crazy kick-ass power. pure talent.
Adrianne is such a beautiful human being
this is like watching an episode of Portlandia but the music is very good
Ha. You should've been there!
Ooh two artists that changed my life at two different times, meeting. Life.
Very eye opening for me. Seeing Luke question himself in his role as producer. I hadn't really thought about being thrown into a studio situation with a very limited time frame and having to handle the pressure, while trying to be creative.
Somewhat reminds me of mixing live audio on the second stage of a large music festival. It's impossible to do a sound check, as there's a band on the main stage blasting so loud, that we're confined to doing line checks with headphones and getting a mix during the first song when we go live. Flying by the seat of our pants, if you will. It's how I learned to listen very intently and mix very quickly.
But honestly, I have never applied that way of working in the studio. I've always taken however much time I needed to put a song together, mix it, etc. Perhaps it's time to set a time limit and challenge myself!! ha
Thank you Brian and crew for all that you give us. I always look forward to seeing what you come up with next!
Best,
Joel

Lololol. I love it. I love the tension. What a beautiful picture of the way music yearns to crawl out from the muddy, messy brilliant depths of the soul and just spew itself into existence, and the way that in order to have a piece of music that sounds pleasing to the ear and makes constructive sense you need to have the technical bits in order, all the while the music-child is just crawling up and out and dancing wildly and tenderly around the room.
When I finished the video I went to look at the view count expecting 1.5 million or more. 20,000? Where is everybody???
This was incredibly and beautifully done. Love the insight and rawness of the process with some amazing cinematography and editing. Nice work everyone! And of course Big Thief is what brought me here. Can't stop listening.
I could watch them work in this studio all day and night.
they swam in the mother lake for sure
Amazing.
It's so beautiful watching the process of the song being made, thanks for another great video and song.
i love them all so much
Everytime I watch these videos (very often), I can't understand why this channel hasn't tons of subscribers. Bryan and the rest of the weathervane crew, thank you for the huge inspiration! This is gold!
Amazing... I have no words.
Such a great informative video. Thank you, Love the tune!
I love this band
brilliant
Wonderful band!!!
I didn't even realize I knew this band from this! So good!
“that’ll sound fuego”
I love Shaking Through so much, goodness gracious. Every episode I find myself wishing I was one of the artists! Thanks for another great video guys.
Ah. Thanks so much, Timothy.
Actually Brian, I've also just watched your TED talk, and was wondering, as an individual, what part can I play in fixing the music industry?
There's really nothing to fix. It's evolving to be what it is given natural and consumer demands. And for people simply wishing to be "recording artists", it's excellent. The first time in history that anyone can be a recording artist. No one can stop you... you can make a life time's worth of work by the time you die, not just for some fantasy-period of denial in your 20s.
hey weathervane, want to release the full band performance around @2:42?
adriaanne terrence mckenna lol i love uuuuuuu
O produtor tem a voz do Zack Snider
luke temple, younger albini
What mic is that on her acoustic in the beginning?
It's our AKG 414 B-ULS, with our U67 above for her voice. The mics are positioned in a way that lets us record both without excessive bleed or phase issues for vocal and guitar at the same time.
bok choy
someone's finger slipped off the like button
Id say no thanks, we don't want anyone else in the group, we will leave the piano out.
