I am fairly vacant & hearing how deeply she experiences a moment & treasures each detail really shakes me. I can greater detect the gap between my line of existence and her's-not only in the distance between our varied environments but in the depth of one's perception & ability to experience. I have a long road ahead of me if I ever would want to live in the intimate coupled memories she so gracefully depicts through her songs. Her attitude could bring a withering soul back to fullness

Plus her vocal delivery/dynamics is the absolute same. Lenker in the other hand actually knows how to play guitar, by doing multiple different tunings and can actually fingerpick! the simplicity contributes to the experience of some music, like this. you could only ever experience her performance from one perspective - through your own head - if she were playing in front of you, so it seems appropriate to mimic that perspective in the recording. it serves a practical and traditional function, but holds a bit of subtle metaphorical significance if you choose to think about it too hard, which I like :)
